Chapter 767: Have you changed your mind about my offer yet?
Chapter 767: Have you changed your mind about my offer yet?
"Since flower cultivation is a complex process, for the first time we offer you 50 flowers of the bronze rank and 100 flowers of the silver rank," Arabel said.
"In exchange, we want to receive 70 Diamond-rank Light Crystals."
Arabel had calculated in advance that, on average, they could sell that many "Soul Flowers" for 2,000 System Points, and the price of one diamond-grade Light Crystal was approximately 300 points. It turns out that the equivalent price for Arabel is about 7 Crystals of Light.
However, considering the rarity and value of the Flower, despite its low rank, Arabel decided to increase the price tenfold, from 7 to 70 pieces. She wanted to say 100, but refrained.
"Aren't you asking too much?" asked Irina, her eyes twitching.
"I don't think that's too much for you, especially considering the value of the Flowers," Arabel objected and added: "It's unlikely that you will find a better deal in the near future."
Irina began to consider the offer, while the other two stared at Arabel with wide-open eyes when they heard what she wanted in return for flowers.
"Diamond rank crystals?" repeated Iona incredulously. "That's a huge sum, and as many as 70 grand!"
In their world, even the corpses of silver- and gold-ranked Beasts were worth a fortune, and platinum- and diamond-ranked resources were out of the question. They simply didn't exist in their world, and it didn't look like they would appear any time soon.
Irina did not think for long and, sighing, said:
"I can't solve this issue on my own, I need to discuss it with my superiors."
"Okay," Arabel nodded, already prepared for such an answer.
"Can I have another flower so that I can show it to others and my words have more weight?" asked Irina.
"Of course," Arabel smiled and, instead of one box, took out two at once.
"There's a Bronze-rank Soul Flower here, and a Silver-rank Soul Flower here," she said.
"But please note that these two flowers will be deducted from the amount I offered," Arabel did not forget to mention to emphasize the value of the resource. Otherwise, the other party might have doubts if they started handing out flowers just like that, while demanding so many Diamond-rank Crystals for them at the same time.
"I understand," Irina replied, picking up and putting away the boxes after checking and making sure of their contents.
"I also want to say that our offer is only valid until the beginning of the Third Disaster, so you better hurry up," Arabel added.
Seeing that Irina understood everything, Arabel, pleased that she had completed the task, turned to Iona.
"How are you? Have you changed your mind about my offer yet?" she asked through the "Soul Force."
Iona flinched slightly when she heard Arabel's voice in her head.
"I have considered your offer and decided to remain as a member of the Awakened Association," Iona replied. "You don't have any other people inside the Association, do you?"
"No, there are no others," Arabel said.
"But now it will be," concluded Iona.
"Besides, I don't want to leave my friends," Iona added.
"We don't mind accepting your friends too."
After a short silence, Iona said:
"Then give me a little more time so that I can ask my friends for their opinion and, if necessary, convince them. In the meantime, I'll stay in the Association."
"Okay," Arabel agreed. "Iona, since your System has an oath of allegiance to our System, you have already become one of us. So if something happens or you need something, don't hesitate to contact us."
"Then… Could you shelter my family in that place? And perhaps my friends' relatives, too?" asked Iona, thinking over Arabel's words.
From her last visit, Iona was sure that this place was one of the safest in their world.
Although no one knew what awaited their world during the Third Disaster, everyone had a bad feeling about it, and everyone was worried about their loved ones.
"Of course," Arabel replied, seeing no difficulty in doing so. "Let me know when and where they will need to be picked up, and I will send people to pick them up."
"Thank you," — Iona said sincerely, partly rejoicing at this turn of events. If she finds a safe place where her family can wait out the Third Disaster, she will have fewer distractions and will be able to fully focus on what lies ahead.
"Now that you know that Iona is connected to us, I hope you won't harm her or her friends," Arabel said, turning to Irina.
"We value our friendship very much, and although Iona is not part of our guild, we have a good relationship with her. If something happens to her, know that we will not ignore it."
"Don't worry about her, I will personally monitor her and even take her under my guidance," Irina assured.
"Oh? What do you think of this proposal?" Arabel asked Iona.
"I... I don't mind," Iona didn't refuse.
"Okay, then," — Arabel agreed. After completing her mission, she got up to leave.
"If anything, you can contact us through Iona, she knows how to find us," she said before opening the door of the private room and leaving.
After leaving the restaurant, Arabel, who had already attracted the attention of several passersby with her beauty and bright red hair, turned the corner and disappeared.
Soon she appeared on the roof of one of the buildings, quite far from the restaurant, in the form of a dark Valkyrie with long black hair and four black wings on her back.
"Now the question remains: could Darkia have been watching me and overheard our conversation?" Arabel wondered and dispelled her avatar, returning control of the body to its rightful owner, Bera.
Bera regained control of her body, as if she had awakened from a dream, and began to absorb the residual memories of her master.
It had been a while since her master had used this ability, and now Bera was assimilating all of Arabel's memories that had happened recently.
When she got to the memories of her hostess's nightlife with her partner after the wedding, Bera blushed, her eyes shone with a purple-pink light, and she began to gasp, smiling madly with a lustful look.
Arabel couldn't even imagine how much she had influenced Bera's still-half-realized self, even more than Idan had influenced Ned at the time.
"Ah..." moaned Bera, replaying in her mind the dirty memories of her master and his husband, who became even more attractive and desirable in her eyes.
