Chapter 772: You can rely on us
Chapter 772: You can rely on us
Arabel picked up the fox cub and turned it over in her hands. At first glance, there was nothing special about it, but she felt that it wasn't just a toy.
"I know it's you, Darkia, so stop pretending," Arabel said, looking into the fox cub's eyes.
Arabel thought, but then a dark gleam flashed in the fox cub's eyes, and a wide smile appeared on her face. She pounced on Arabel, opening her mouth wide with sharp teeth, and tried to bite.
Arabel managed to dodge at the last moment and throw the fox cub away. She fell to the floor, turned around, stood on her small paws and, baring her teeth, growled towards Arabel.
Arabel frowned and braced herself for the fox cub's next attack, but before she could pounce on her, out of the corner of her eye she noticed something silvery running past her.
"Shady, I knew you could move!" Silver exclaimed happily, running up to the fox cub.
"Silver, stop..." Arabel tried to stop her, but stopped when she saw how the fox stopped grinning and turned into a cute fluffy baby who started wagging her tail.
Silver, overwhelmed with joy, grabbed the fox cub and started hugging her, giggling as she started licking her face.
Arabel and the others stared at the scene in disbelief, unable to figure out what was going on.
"Shady?" asked Arabel.
"Yes, I gave her that name," Silver replied with a smile, hugging the fox cub.
"Why don't I not only remember this, but I don't even know it?" asked Arabel, looking around at the others.
"If you are all a part of me, then why can't I read your thoughts and intentions, even though, as I understand it, you are able to perceive not only my thoughts, but also my mood?"
The others looked at each other and then shrugged.
What a headache, Arabel thought, rubbing her temples.
She looked at the fox cub Silver was holding. Arabel had no doubt that this creature was connected to the Dark System, but she couldn't figure out if it was Darkia herself.
The smile on the fox cub's face that appeared before he attacked her was very similar to Darkia's smile. However, the behavior of the creature in Silver's hands was confusing. It didn't match Darkia's behavior, but looked like a sweet lover.
"Do you understand who this little fox is?" Arabel asked, and the others looked at each other and nodded.
Only Silver felt really bad. Having a connection with everyone, she understood what was going on, but denied it, hugging the fox cub tighter and not wanting to part with her.
"So what do we do?" Arabel asked, looking at Silver and the fox cub.
"Let's kill the fox cub, and the problem will be solved," Pink blurted out.
"No way! I won't let you kill her!" shouted Silver, and before the others could react, she opened a rift and jumped down, taking the fox cub with her.
"Silver, stop!" — Arabel tried to stop her, but despite her small stature, she was quite nimble and managed to escape.
Arabel, slightly annoyed by the situation, turned to Pink, who said something she shouldn't have said.
"What?" the Pink One asked. "You asked what we should do, I just suggested an option."
"Leave her alone for a while, big sister," Blue intervened. "When Silver calms down, she'll come out and we'll talk to her again."
"The main thing is that now we know who Darkia can follow you to," White added. "We don't know what this fox cub is capable of, but given her proximity to Silver, a lot is possible. However, we shouldn't jump to conclusions yet."
"You do realize that being with Silver, this little fox was also a witness to all of your actions, including your observations of me and Dan?" Arabel said with displeasure, and the others blushed and nodded, understanding what Arabel meant.
In other words, Darkia may have witnessed all of her marital intimacy with Idan.
"Okay, keep an eye on her," Arabel said, realizing that she had had enough for today. Every time she met with her other versions, instead of finding answers to her questions, she only became more confused.
"You can rely on us," the White said with confidence.
"Yes, leave it to us," Blue nodded.
Pink, still unhappy with what had happened, just snorted. And the Black One, as always, remained the quietest and most silent.
Arabel disappeared, returning to the real world, and opened her eyes in her bedroom in the "Family Home." This time, she remembered everything that had happened with complete clarity and awareness. It wasn't like her previous experiences, when everything seemed like a dream.
"System, what do you think about this?" she asked after analyzing the incident once more.
[Host, the seeds of doubt have already been sown, and if the situation continues to develop at this pace and direction, there is a high probability that your "extremes" will rise up and start feuding with each other and you in an attempt to seize power and control over the body.]
"Is it really that bad?" asked Arabel anxiously.
[The little freedom they gained through the Dark System has given each of them hope, which is slowly beginning to consume them. It's not so obvious now, but the prerequisites are already there.]
The System came to this conclusion after analyzing Arabel's memories.
"System, do you know what this place is? It wasn't you're doing, was it?" she asked.
[No, Host, this "place" has nothing to do with this System. Otherwise, the System would have access and could analyze everything that happens inside this place. It would have already discovered the anomaly in the shape of a dark fox cub earlier].
Arabel sighed in disappointment.
[But this System knows what kind of place it is. More precisely, it knows what kind of power it was created by].
"Yes? And what is this place?" Arabel asked.
[Do you remember that ring that was given to you during your meeting with the Host of the Supreme Widow System?]
"Of course I remember," Arabel nodded. "Are you saying that this place is inside that ring?"
[No].
[However, this "place" was created by the power of that very ring].
