Chapter 895: How can it be fine after that?
Chapter 895: How can it be fine after that?
The second time, passing through the stone arch, Lina did not strive to reach the top of the mountain quickly. Following the words carved on the arch, she tried to sort herself out.
Try to understand a part of yourself and put all these pieces into one and finally become whole.
Her steps were slow, but confident and steady. Step by step, under the changing force of gravity, she asked a lot of questions about her origin and about herself.
As before, the path leading up became steeper, slippery, and uneven as she progressed.
And soon Lina heard the first echoes of whispers.
Those voices again. The voices of her acquaintances. The voice of her father, and even the voice of her so-called mother.
As soon as the voices became audible, her confident and firm steps trembled.
After taking a few more steps, Lina had to stop and hold her head. She thought she was ready to face it all. She believed that the questions she asked herself along the way would help her find answers and prepare for the challenges.
But now, amid a chorus of amplifying whispers, she realized that she had been deeply mistaken.
Hearing all those voices—she wasn't ready for that at all.
Imagining those voices was not the same as actually hearing them.
"If this goes on, I'll fall again," Lina thought, feeling a growing panic.
The whispers that wouldn't stop made it difficult for her to concentrate. It only increased her anxiety and fear.
Everything started to shake.
The path she was following, even when she was standing still, was getting steeper by the second, and the steps were getting more uneven and slippery.
"No, no, no," — Lina began to deny.
"I can't just give up," she exclaimed.
Lina realized that if she retreated now, she would hardly have the strength to withstand the trials for the third time.
She was already standing now, understanding the meaning of this trial.
There were no enemies in front of her that could be defeated using her swordsmanship.
In this trial, her opponent was herself.
And if she doesn't succeed now, then she won't achieve more in subsequent attempts.
However, understanding this did not help.
At that moment, when she was on the verge of despair and was ready to give up under the onslaught of whispers, she clearly heard a familiar monotonous voice that spoke directly to her.
[Champion]
And as soon as Lina heard this, everything around her seemed to sink into silence.
The chorus of voices disappeared.
Opening her eyes, Lina saw a transparent system window in front of her, where it was written [Champion].

Ever since Lina first stepped through the stone arch, Nemo had been watching her with undisguised excitement and anxiety.
His gaze never left the girl, following her every move.
Every time she stumbled slightly and almost fell, Nemo's heart skipped a beat.
He instinctively clutched his chest with his left hand, trying to realize his feelings.
The longer it went on, the more Nemo regretted not being able to be by her side.
It was unbearably hard for him to just watch her without being able to help.
Nemo's breath caught in his throat when he saw Lina, having failed for the first time, falling.
Fear gripped him. The fear that she might die. He had never experienced anything like this before.
Nemo instinctively wanted to rush to her aid, but the strength of the Supervisor of the Forbidden Zone was beyond his control.
"LINAAAA!" he shouted, using all his mental connection, helplessly watching Lina fall.
"Let me go!" he demanded of the Supervisor of the Forbidden Zone. "Let me go!"
Nemo was gripped by an emotion unfamiliar to him, so strong that he was ready to challenge the Supervisor, despite the huge difference in their powers.
"Calm down!" the authoritative voice of the Supervisor of the Forbidden Zone sounded like cold water, washing over Nemo and penetrating into the very depths of his soul.
"She's going to be fine," the voice added, watching as Lina flew out of the stone arch, hit the ground, and rolled to a stop, crashing into a stone.
"Fine?" said Nemo indignantly.
"How can it be fine after that?" he exclaimed.
"She's alive," the voice replied calmly.
Annoyed, Nemo turned his attention back to Lina and saw how Aliya, approaching her, began to cast a Light spell, healing her.
Nemo couldn't help but thank Alia and decided that he would definitely thank her and give her something in the future.
Then his gaze landed on Lina, who was lying motionless, as if in a trance, with a blank expression on her face.
"Lina!" called Nemo. "Lina!"
"She can't hear you," a voice said. "It's not worth the effort."
But Nemo did not pay attention to the words of the Supervisor, continuing to call Lina.
And suddenly, Lina's gaze, which had already begun to fade, suddenly shone. She blinked her emerald eyes as if looking at Nemo.
"Nemo?" she called.
Nemo was amazed and delighted. He called out to her again, unable to believe what was happening.
"Huh?" The supervisor of the Locked Area was also amazed.
"Did she really hear him?" he thought, looking from Lina to Nemo and back again.
This incident forced the Supervisor of the Forbidden Zone to take a fresh look at the situation and keep a close eye on the Fallen Valkyrie and the Challenger.
No matter how much Nemo called Lina after the first time, she no longer heard his voice.
After regaining her strength and lost in her thoughts, Lina stepped back inside the stone arch under the close attention of Nemo and the Supervisor, determined to challenge this trial again.
They were watching her every move. Nemo was very worried, but he hoped that she would be able to overcome this path.
However, soon, seeing Lina start to panic again and about to fall down, Nemo was alarmed again. The warden sighed in disappointment, realizing that he was mistaken.
Only then did he notice that the others had failed, as he expected, and only this Fallen Valkyrie remained, who seemed about to fall.
But just when he thought she was going to fall, Lina suddenly stopped shaking, and her surroundings, which were about to collapse, froze.
"Hmm," the Supervisor's gaze filled with suspicion.
His senses began to look for signs of outside interference, but he found nothing unusual.
"How?" he thought. "Something's not right here."
And then Lina, who seemed about to fall, took a step.
The steps that had disappeared began to reappear, revealing a shaky, uneven, and fragmented path in front of her.
After the first step, Lina took the next one, then another.
Step by step, she began to climb up the path that could collapse at any moment.
