Chapter 975: Storm Anomaly

Chapter 975: Storm Anomaly

In the west, a Storm Anomaly swept away everything in its path. Huge waves and strong winds did not spare anything.

The soil was deeply eroded, forming a network of endless labyrinths of flooded canyons, lagoons and mangrove forests.

On the border of the outer and middle layers of the Anomaly, on a small piece of surviving land, a white fox emerged from the void.

As soon as she appeared, she created a dry space around herself with the help of the element of Space, hiding from the incessant rain and protecting her white fluffy fur.

Then, with a flick of her tail, the fox opened a rift, which quickly turned into a portal, from where people began to appear one by one.

“Great job, Mari,” — praised Esma, who appeared first from the portal. She hugged her Snow doppelganger tightly, enjoying the warmth and softness of her body.

More than thirty people came out of the portal, and before their eyes appeared endless plains that turned into shallow lakes. Beneath the surface of these lakes were deep bottomless caves filled with the energy of compressed water.

In the distance, giant blue trees could be seen pouring water through their crowns, creating the effect of eternal rain.

As soon as everyone came out of the portal, Marie dispelled it and turned into an exact copy of Esma in front of everyone. With her transformation, the dry space that protected them from the rain disappeared.

In the blink of an eye, everyone was caught in the pouring rain.

Due to the ultra-high concentration of Water and Wind energy, the air has become as dense as jelly. It was unusual and difficult to breathe; the lungs were quickly filled with “energy condensate”.

Under the influence of this, the movements became slow, and some began to tremble as if in a fever. It seemed as if they had fallen into the water, although in reality they were only standing in the pouring rain.

Quickly realizing the danger, they used their Soul Forces to expel condensation and protect themselves from the dense energy of Water and Wind.

“Hehe, look at you, we’re only on the border of the outer layer with the middle one,” Esma said with a smile, addressing the others. “It’s only going to get worse.”

Having an affinity with the element of water, she and her Doppelganger felt like a fish in water in this environment, while the others were beginning to experience the first difficulties.

“Stay here and get used to the conditions of the Anomalies, and Mari and I will go explore the surroundings,” said Esma and Mari, spreading four sea—green wings, soared up.

The rest, adapting to the conditions of the Anomaly, spent them with mild envy.

“What the hell?” exclaimed Liam, who, despite his platinum rank, was having difficulty adapting to the environmental conditions, watching as Ren confidently began to swing his sword.

“Don’t be surprised,” said Rachel, who had almost adapted due to her affinity with the wind element. “As far as I know, Ren has an affinity for the element of water.”

“Really?” — Liam couldn’t believe his ears. He had fought Ren many times in the Simularium, but he had never seen him use any element, including water.

“Caw-caw,” a crow suddenly cawed, and everyone turned to Crowey, who had a bird perched on his shoulder. It seemed that even the crow had adapted to the conditions of the Anomaly faster and was now laughing at Liam.

Most of them adapted pretty quickly. Only those who did not have an affinity, like Liam, faced some difficulties, but soon found a way to protect themselves from the negative effects of the environment.

“It’s unusual to keep the Soul Force active all the time,” someone remarked, and his words were supported by everyone. Everyone understood that the Soul Force was not infinite and its constant use could quickly exhaust them. Therefore, they need to rest periodically.

To do this, they needed to find or create a safe place with normal conditions.

When everyone had adapted, Esma and Mari returned.

“I see that you are all feeling well and ready to travel into the depths of the Anomaly,” Esma nodded with satisfaction.

“We’ll start by crossing the border and going a little deeper into the middle layer,” she began to outline the plan.

“The energy concentration there is higher than here, so you all will need to get used to it before we can start a full-fledged exploration in search of resources.”

Upon hearing this, most people immediately frowned.

While some of them felt bad from realizing this, some, on the contrary, looked at all this as a training in using their Soul Force.

“I will be with you for a while, but then I will have to leave you and go to the Central Layer to join the fight for the seeds of law. In the meantime, Eulalia, Mari, Mira and Liam will stay with you for protection.”

All eyes turned to the members of the group that Esma had named. Everyone remembered them well. These four were the strongest in the team, and in case of danger, they could be their saviors.

“Mari and Mira will create a space with normal conditions so that you can rest and recuperate.”

“Crowey, you will use your crows to explore the area in search of resources, animals, and members of another expedition.”

“Caw-caw” — instead of Crowey, his crow cawed and responded, agreeing with Esma’s words.

“Try to stick together and avoid conflicts with others.”

“The anomaly is huge, and there are enough resources for everyone for the first time, so don’t be greedy.”

“Remember what Arabel said: for the Kingdom, your life is more precious than any resources.”

Esma, having briefly outlined the essence, looked around the audience and asked:

“Any questions?”

No one raised their hand or asked a single question. Everything was clear to everyone. At least for now. They had to see the Anomaly with their own eyes.

What they saw now was only a small part, and everyone understood that the most interesting thing was yet to come. No one knew what difficulties awaited them.

“Okay, then let’s get started,” Esma said, and the expedition into the Storm Anomaly began.
