Chapter 1489: Overwhelming Strength

"Fire and Ice Runic Terror."

A shining blue light engulfed the entire plain. The blue flame soared into the sky and spread wide. The blue flame swept through the entire field. The demons around the wall panicked as though they had just felt something horrifying.

The demons hurriedly unleashed their own energy to collectively block the incoming flame. The flame froze their energy before evaporating them.

If not for thousands of demons, including many peak level demons, superior demons, and even the ancient demon working together, the flame would have swept all the demons in the area.

However, the blue flame still managed to sweep demons that were not around the ancient demon, where the shield was the strongest.

The flame covered each demon in a thick layer of ice before their bodies were reduced to nothing but a demon crystal.

Even the third prince and the supreme devil were having a hard time blocking this attack. Both their shield and sword strikes managed to disperse the flame, but they had spent so much energy just to block a single attack.

The soldiers couldn’t help but drop their jaws. Even Laufey and Raven had never seen such a thing before.

In just one attack, more than ten thousand demons were annihilated. Everything within the field was swept away, leaving not even a single speck of dust behind.

The most terrifying thing was the fact that this attack was originally meant to be used against the third prince and the supreme devil.

That was right. If not for Noel using it against those two, he might be able to wipe out the entire demon army, which consisted of tens of thousands of demons, in a single attack.

"Is this... something beyond the spirit transcendence?" Raven gasped.

"Beyond the spirit transcendence..." Laufey sucked in a cold breath. "Spirit King!"

The third prince and the supreme devil were in utter shock. Despite Noel’s internal injuries, he managed to fully control this new power.

The demon king clenched his fists as he looked at Noel in the distance. Noel’s energy became a bit unstable after that attack, but the pressure emanating from his body was unmistakably beyond a spirit transcendence.

They did accomplish their objective, which was severely injuring Noel. The internal injuries Noel suffered supposedly forced Noel to recuperate for a few months.

But they miscalculated one thing. They miscalculated the possibility of Noel becoming a spirit king.

"Kill him. Even though he has reached that stage, he’s severely injured. This is the perfect opportunity to kill him!" The supreme devil roared as he leaped forward.

"No! Stop!" The demon king panicked. The supreme devil didn’t know the power of the spirit king because the only people who knew it were the demon king and Alexander himself.

Noel waved his hand, sending forth a phoenix. Instead of a black phoenix, it was a blue phoenix.

The supreme devil unleashed everything he had in a single slash and struck the phoenix.

"Soar." Noel muttered.

All of a sudden, the icy flame phoenix closed its wings before spreading them again, unleashing an icy gale. The chilling air froze the sword strike as the phoenix continued onward.

Runes emerged around its body as the phoenix smashed the frozen sword strikes.

"!!!" The supreme devil widened his eyes in shock. Before the phoenix could burst, the demon king grabbed the supreme devil by the back of his collar and leaped away.

The phoenix exploded, causing the icy wind to continue spreading in a fan shape, following its momentum.

Everything in its path ended up getting covered in an ice layer. The temperature dropped even further, causing the spiritual energy itself to freeze.

The supreme devil looked at this power in horror. If he got attacked by the phoenix, he might be able to survive, but he wouldn’t escape unscathed. A few of his limbs might end up getting destroyed.

This is... the power of a spirit king.

"Tsk! It’s no use anymore! We have to retreat!" The demon king gnashed his teeth. He let out a high-pitched whistle.

The ancient demon hurriedly turned around and charged at Noel, trying to distract him from them.

Without skipping a beat, Raven waved his hand and shouted, "Fire!"

The main battleship shot its cannon. Because the ancient demon was focusing on Noel, it only deployed a half-hearted barrier on its back, but several airships had surrounded him from two sides.

They shot out meteor runes, stopping the ancient demon in its tracks.

As a result, the cannon shattered the barrier and pierced through the demon’s body, leaving a massive hole.

"!!!" The demon king clicked his tongue. "Raven!"

However, he didn’t have any more time, as Noel had gathered his energy again on his sword, fully believing that Raven would stop the ancient demon for him.

"Run!" The demon king shouted as he ran away as quickly as possible.

"Josephine!" The supreme devil had no other choice but to run after seeing that power. If he received this attack, he would definitely die.

A portal suddenly appeared out of thin air.

"!!!" Noel widened his eyes and hurriedly swung his sword even if it hadn’t reached the energy that he planned to put in.

Josephine was trembling the moment he caught a glimpse of Noel’s power. She couldn’t help but wonder what kind of being they were actually fighting against.

The supreme devil and the demon king released every bit of their energy to form a barrier, trying to stop the attack even for a second.

"Divine Slash."

The sword strike ran through the ground and slashed their barrier as if it were tofu.

"Gah!" Both the supreme devil and the demon king spat a mouthful of blood as their energy was being frozen through the link where they channeled their energy into the barrier.

However, Josephine managed to catch them and hurriedly closed the portal.

Before the portal disappeared, it was frozen by the sword strike and shattered into pieces as the sword strike continued for over one kilometer, destroying everything in its path.

The supreme devil and the demon king escaped...
