Chapter 1498: Anger

*Rumble!*

The lightning struck down onto the demon wolf’s palm, stopping its attack. The demon wolf pulled back its paw instinctively before turning around.

In the distance, an airship could be seen. Anna stood at the very front of the airship, glaring at the enemy.

She could see her brother’s condition. Although she didn’t know exactly what had happened, she knew her brother had experienced a disaster earlier.

Her killing intent soared. Thanks to her past life’s memory as well as this life’s Noel, she understood how meaningful a family was.

Seeing her brother hurt like this made her unable to suppress her killing intent.

Anna grabbed the handle of her sword. The moment it was unsheathed, lightning started to spark. It grew even fiercer by the second.

The thunderous roar of the lightning acted as if it were a representation of her anger.

"Madam..." Felicia felt pressured from her spiritual energy alone, and other soldiers were also having a hard time breathing.

Fortunately, Anna snapped back to reality. She glanced at them and ordered in an icy voice. "Take over the command. Kill as many demons as possible, starting from the opposite direction. You don’t have to care about me."

"Understood..." Felicia bit her lips, her body started shaking.

Anna leaped away after giving her order, and the pressure instantly disappeared. However, she turned into the lightning itself.

"Kh." Alexander gritted his teeth. He gathered all his power into a fist and jumped into the air.

In the air, Anna’s hair had turned white as her Lightning Transformation was activated.

She gathered all that lightning into her sword and swung her sword down as Alexander appeared in her way and punched the lightning.

The clash between the king path and True Spirit Body split the sky in two. The one on the bottom felt like an army of humans resisting the heavens, while the one above was the anger of the heavens striking down on the foolish humans.

Despite the clash being in the sky, the ground felt like it was hit by an earthquake.

"Haaaaa!" Alexander shouted, unleashing every bit of his strength.

Unfortunately for Anna, the result of the clash was the same as what happened in the first clash between Noel and the supreme devil.

Anna definitely managed to overpower him, but that power was only enough to knock Alexander back to the ground. It wasn’t enough to injure him.

"Kh." Alexander hurriedly stood back up as Anna raised her left hand. The lightning gathered around her and turned into a spear. She then threw it down.

Alexander raised both hands and grabbed the lightning.

"Aaahhhh!" Alexander screamed in pain, but he actually ripped the lightning apart.

The demon wolf opened its mouth, trying to attack Anna. However, Incetta struck him from below, forcing the demon wolf to block this instead of helping Alexander.

"Your opponent is me." Incetta harrumphed. Now that it was a one-on-one battle, the ancient demon wolf went berserk in order to match her power.

"Fire!" Felicia shouted. The airship had arrived as the soldiers started firing the runes from the air. Some Rune Mages jumped off the ship and flew forward.

The demons who could use ranged attacks immediately released one, firing back at the ship. Unfortunately, the airship summoned a Spiritual Barrier Rune, while the rune mages avoided it.

Once they came closer, they started bombarding the enemies with the runes they had mastered.

Anna, of course, couldn’t focus entirely on Alexander. She finally fell to the ground, but not without striking Alexander on the way down.

Alexander met her sword with his fist, albeit barely. He had a hard time deflecting the lightning from the sword.

As a result, the lightning ended up hitting another direction, which burst around the demons.

Some demons looped around to surround Anna.

Anna stomped on the ground and dispersed her lightning in all directions. But that action created a gap for Alexander to strike her.

Anna was confident that she could stop this attack, so in the end, the attack only pushed her back for several meters without injuring her. Still, the demons hurriedly charged at her, forcing Anna to wave the sword to kill the demons on her back.

As much as Anna wanted to use the True Spirit Body to kill Alexander, Noel had warned her about the enemy’s plan.

Because of Josephine’s existence, they had to conserve as much stamina as possible. After all, Josephine could teleport the enemies to one specific location to kill that specific spirit transcendence.

This was why Noel decided to remain on the territory and asked Anna to retain her True Spirit Body. If the enemy used that trick, Anna could use the True Spirit Body and the Thunder God Possession to retreat with the rest of the group.

And Noel’s prediction actually came true.

"This is..." Anna could sense the familiar energy on this battlefield. Her instinct was telling her Josephine was on this battlefield.

"!!!" Anna scanned the area, causing Alexander to notice something wrong.

To his surprise, Anna suddenly leaped over the demons, heading straight in a certain direction.

"Where are you going?!" Alexander didn’t understand her action, but he followed her and struck her from behind.

Anna waved her blade back, blocking his fist. However, her pose was not stable, allowing Alexander to knock her to the ground.

Anna managed to land on both feet, but her intention was revealed as soon as Alexander landed.

"Huh?" Alexander widened his eyes, finding a portal behind the demon army. ’Why is it here? Why is Josephine summoning the portal here?’

Josephine abruptly came out of the portal while shouting in panic, "Retreat!"

"!!!" Alexander was shocked, but Anna hurriedly turned around and swung her sword, sending a lightning bolt at her former master.

Josephine hurriedly opened another portal, but the lightning burst right in front of the portal, causing the portal to be unstable.

"Gah!" Josephine spurted out blood, unable to withstand the power of a spirit transcendence.

But when Anna was about to launch another strike to kill her, Alexander caught up and took the attack himself.

Anna couldn’t let Alexander retreat. But just before she could catch up to him, the ancient demon wolf caught up to her. His body was full of injuries, as though he had been ignoring Incetta’s attack the whole time so that he could reach here.

"!!!" Anna turned around and put her sword above her, but due to the sudden attack, the paw managed to overpower her, crushed the ground, and pinned her down.
