Chapter 1656: New Journey (END)
Chapter 1656: New Journey (END)
Several years later.
"When are you going to start a family, Oscar, Laufey?" Dimitri asked while drunk.
Oscar was startled. He replied in a hoarse voice. "Look at this guy, flexing."
After that war, his voice never returned. However, this was also a perfect time for him to step down as the commander of the Demon Banner Army and leave the leadership to Shale.
On the other hand, Laufey survived that ordeal. Still, his right leg, his right hand, and his right eye were gone.
By using the same technology, Khalid provided Laufey with a new hand and a new leg, but both had to be covered in bandages so that they didn't look weird.
Although this also meant Laufey couldn't fight anymore, Laufey didn't mind, as his role was already over.
All three of them finally retired.
"Jeez. You three. Are you still not done?!" Milfa's voice echoed in the bar.
They all turned their heads, though Dimitri was looking at her with blurry vision.
Milfa was coming into the bar. Her entire atmosphere had changed. She used to look fierce, but she became even fiercer, especially toward Dimitri.
After all, she had finally become a mother with the man she had idolized for decades.
"Look at you. You are going to show a bad example to our kids." Milfa sighed. They had been blessed with two kids, though one of them was still in her belly.
"She is just too happy, Milfa. Do you plan to have a lot of kids?" Laufey asked with a grin.
"She should be fine with two kids. One will work for the Ardagan family and the other will inherit the Demon Banner Army, right?" Oscar played along.
"Oh. A good idea."
"Why are you two planning things for my kids?" Milfa shook her head helplessly. She carried Dimitri while saying, "Anyway, I'm going to bring him back. Any objections?"
"No, Ma'am!" Oscar and Laufey answered in unison before laughing hard.
Milfa could only shake her head helplessly and support Dimitri home. She couldn't really get angry, as Dimitri was just too happy after getting the news that she was pregnant with their second child.
Of course, even though they were drinking, they still followed Milfa. Even though she was a spirit transcendence, both of them were like her mentors, so they made sure Milfa returned home safely with Dimitri.
"So, are you going to start a family?" Laufey asked.
"I should ask you the same question." Oscar rolled his eyes.
"Hahaha. I guess both of us don't want to say it. I guess we should continue to drink, Brother!"
"Indeed." Oscar smiled as they were going back to the bar.
…
Time passed quickly. A lot of things happened.
The shadow of the Great Demon War had gradually disappeared.
The older generation pillars of the Ardagan family were replaced by the newer generation.
Balott, Douglas, Harley, and Khalid had retired and let their successors take over their jobs as the new pillars.
Jasmine was the youngest among the pillars, so she was still working as a pillar, but she also had a lot of apprentices.
Due to the era of peace, food became one of the most important things for further development. So, there were a lot of people coming to her to study.
Incetta became a new spirit king ten years later. It was not as fast as Noel, but she had surpassed even her ancestor.
However, it looked like Vivi had actually influenced Rui. The Shervina family became a household name. Although it was still linked to the Ardagan family, Rui had become a grand duchess herself, bearing the same rank as Noel.
More importantly, she actually had three husbands, following Vivi's life of pleasure. Then again, no one could tell her anything about it, as she had enough strength and influence to suppress any bad gossip.
Rui had found her king path and planned to establish a stable route that could link the Ardagan family to her family on another island. Although her progress was slower than Incetta's, she planned to have her own adventure to see the world after she accomplished her first objective.
Rose had become the manager of the Ardagan family. Her status was equal to Leon Ardagan.
Elaine surpassed everyone's expectations. Under Noel's leadership and guidance, Elaine became a monster. All her policies and decisions would be studied for generations to come. She became Leon's adviser once Noel stepped down from management.
Ultimately, Noel granted her the title that had spread among the people… Elaine, the Great Sage.
Grandel and Felicia had become strong pillars in their own sections, as Grandel supervised everything to ensure that all cities operated safely, while Felicia worked together with Tristan to develop a lot of new rune technologies.
Noel's other disciple, Princess Livia, remained as the Rune Academy's principal. However, she managed to expand the rune academy to all four kingdoms under Noel's permission and planned to spread the runes to everyone so that they could contribute to the development of rune technologies.
Finally, 35 years after the Great Demon War was over, Noel and Anna stood in front of their child, Leon.
Leon was accompanied by his wife, Erica, and his son, Auric. Leon had accomplished a lot of things under Noel's guidance.
His achievements might be overshadowed by all Noel's achievements, but who could actually compare to him?
Even then, Leon had become a man who could support the entire Ardagan family, as he had also become a spirit transcendence at such a young age.
Noel had high hopes but didn't really want him to risk his life to become a spirit king.
His achievement was not limited to his strength. He had also become the established head of the family. His reign might not be as explosive as Noel's reign, but his was actually more stable than Noel's.
He reinforced Noel's expansion and let the territory use 100% of its potential. Then again, Luke was teaching him directly, so it was no wonder he would become similar to him.
Noel smiled at Leon while patting his shoulder. "It's time for me to leave, Son. You may have gotten tired of me saying this, but I've always been proud of you, Son. Keep up the good work."
"Yes, Dad." Leon nodded. "I'm sorry it took you this long."
"Not at all. Your mom and I have agreed on this before, not because of you. I'll leave our family to you, Son."
"Thank you, Dad. I will definitely not disappoint you."
Noel turned to Erica. "Thank you for accompanying my son this whole time. Please continue supporting him, Daughter."
Eric politely bowed. "Yes, Dad. I will."
When Noel turned to the six-year-old Auric, the latter asked with an innocent face. "Grandpa… Are you not going to play with Auric anymore?"
Noel lowered his knees and stroked Auric's head. "Grandpa has to leave for a bit. Let's see, if Auric studies well, Grandpa might bring you a souvenir that even your dad has never seen before. What do you think?"
"Really? Grandpa is not lying to Auric?"
"Of course. Grandpa is not lying."
"Yay! No taking back." Auric smiled confidently. "Pinky promise."
"Pinky promise." Noel nodded.
Noel rose back to his feet and patted Leon's shoulder one more time before he and Anna walked away while waving their hands to Leon and the others.
Once they were far enough, while holding Anna's hand, he said, "My dear."
"Mhmm?"
"Thank you for everything… From the very beginning at the Demon Banner Army. Thank you for accompanying me all this time."
"I should be the one thanking you. However, I guess both of us don't need to thank each other like this is the end."
"Right?" Noel chuckled.
"Yeah. After all, this is just the beginning." Anna looked forward. There were still countless places to explore ahead of them. It was too early to thank her for everything. Their journey had just begun.
"With you, forever." Noel smiled.
"With you, forever." Anna smiled back.
Both of them then disappeared as their journey to explore the entire world had officially begun.
THE END.

AN: This marks the end of my 6th completed book. It's been almost 5 years since I first started this book. At one point, I almost stopped writing altogether due to IRL problems, but it turned out I could finish this here.
I won't say much here but I'd like to thank all the readers who have reached this point. You guys are the best.
I'd love to hear what you guys think about this book since I've learned a lot from this book. Maybe this is one of the most judged books among all my stories, so I get a lot of input from the very beginning.
Anyway, System vs Rebirth has reached its conclusion. I don't know what you read next or maybe you want to read my other series or my new series that will be published next month.
But as Anna and Noel said, with you guys, forever!
