Chapter 1494: What It Means To Be A Hero [Part 2]

"Camazoooooooooootz!" Thirteen roared as he was blown away by the force of Arkael’s sword.

From high above the heavens, the Supreme Commander of the Infernals sneered.

This wasn’t the first time he had seen such a heroic act during his world conquests. He’d lost count of heroes who sacrificed whatever they had to save their comrades from death, dying in return.

It was truly a noble sight, but in the end, it didn’t matter.

Why?

Because everyone who opposed them died, and the world fell in their hands.

By now, this was the norm among the Infernals. There was simply no way to defy what was inevitable!

A pair of hands caught Thirteen, perfectly catching him. When he turned around, he saw Paimon with tears streaking down her face.

"Calm down, Thirteen," She said as calmly as possible. "We need to focus now."

"... You’re right." Thirteen nodded. "Thank you, Paimon."

He was aware that Camazotz, and Paimon had become lovers. While he didn’t know when it started, the Death Bat made sure he knew about it.

He even bragged how hot Paimon was in bed, looking extremely happy as he gave him a rundown of how awesome she was.

The teenage boy listened to him brag about his lover. His gut told him that if he didn’t allow the Death Bat to talk about it, the latter would find a different time to do so.

For the time being, he pushed this thought to the side. They had important matters to do.

"First, we need to get rid of that annoying sword," Paimon stated. "And that flying b*tch."

The one she was referring to was none other than the Moth Lady who had tortured her lover earlier.

Paimon was helping the Wanderers push back against the Infernals, so she couldn’t arrive in time to save Camazotz from Arkael’s deadly blow.

"Tell me straight. Do you have a plan?" Paimon asked.

"Yes," Thirteen replied. "But I need time."

"How long do you need?"

"Half an hour."

Paimon narrowed her eyes. In half an hour, they might no longer exist. But she understood that if there was really a way out of this situation, he would do her best to protect Thirteen for half an hour.

As if reading her mind, Thirteen lightly patted her shoulder.

"Support the others," Thirteen said calmly. "Don’t worry about me. I will not let them hit me again."

"... Understood." Paimon nodded before flying away.

She knew she wasn’t as strong as Camazotz, and she might even become a burden to Thirteen. As such, she didn’t complain. Heeding his orders, she did her best to support the Wanderers.

The teenage boy took a deep breath to steady his nerves. The chaotic battle was still in full swing, and the Pseudo-Gods seemed content to give him some breathing time.

They understood that giving their enemy hope would be the cruelest thing they could do. This complacency stemmed from their confidence to reign supreme by the end of this battle.

"Come!" Arkael sneered. "Or would you rather I attack the other insects who think they stand a chance against us?"

The Pseudo-Gods laughed, finding the words of their colleague very amusing.

"Big words from someone who has to be saved by his ally from a good trashing." Thirteen sneered back, which made Arkael’s smile stiffen.

The teenage boy then took off to the skies once more, glancing in the direction of the Wanderers fighting tooth and nail against their enemies.

He could even see Princess Aracelle’s Phoenix Form in the distance, fighting alongside his other lovers, keeping them safe from harm.

After taking a deep breath, Thirteen raised Ruyi Jingu Bang and whispered at the staff in his hand.

The divine weapon hummed, acknowledging his orders.

Thirteen took another deep breath before hovering in the sky completely still. The staff in his hands glowed faintly as if it was preparing a move that no one had seen before.

From high above the Celestial Realm, the Monkey King put down the wine cup in his hand and looked at the best friend with a solemn gaze.

He understood what Thirteen was planning, so he stopped drinking and watched him in silence. Sun Wukong understood that his best friend was going to sacrifice his life force in order to repay the bastards that had killed his friend.

A moment later, the teenage boy disappeared from where he stood. The next second he was right under Arkael’s nose with the staff extending towards his nostril.

Before he could even react, Ruyi Jingu Bang’s size extended, entering Arkael’s nose, and traveling as far as it could go.

When the Pseudo-God realized what had happened, it was already too late.

Thirteen had used the power of the Skip God to close in on Arkael, using an attack that broke all norms of combat!

"This one is for Camazotz!" Thirteen roared as Ruyi Jingu Bang’s size increased, surpassing the size of Arkael’s nose.

A moment later, the Pseudo-God’s head exploded as Thirteen unleashed a powerful thrust that took everything from him.

The Pseudo-Gods, and the Supreme Commander of the Infernal could only watch in shock and disbelief. None of them could’ve perceived that attack.

Arkael’s gigantic body crashed to the ground, making it shake and crushing those who were fighting under it.

For a brief moment, the battle came to a standstill.

Everyone gazed at the teenage boy, who was covered from head to foot with Infernal Blood.

That attack took a toll on him, for the power of the Skip God when used for offensive purposes could not be taken lightly.

It was a power that defied the rules of combat. This was also Thirteen’s main reason for choosing such an unpopular God as his patron.

Even the God of Time couldn’t stop time against this ability because it would simply "skip" it all together.

"Why did you all stop laughing?" Thirteen asked, not bothering to wipe the blood that covered his entire being.

A heartbeat later, he appeared in front of the Moth Lady and bound her body with his chains.

"When you meet Camazotz in hell, make sure to apologize to him," Thirteen whispered in her ear the moment a needle-sized Ruyi Jingu Bang pierced her eye. "Also, tell him to save a spot for me."

Before anyone could react, the Moth Lady’s head exploded as Ruyi Jingu Bang once again increased its size.

Two Pseudo-Gods died just like that, and the entire battlefield seemed to stand completely still as the System of Cannon Fodders enacted his vengeance.
