Chapter 513- Crimson Field
Chapter 513: Chapter 513- Crimson Field
At that moment, Kevin’s eyes widened in shock. He finally realised why [Tiamat] was suddenly talking about abilities and their names.
[The third ability of mine is called the ’Crimson Field’. Just like the name, it creates a field around you under which all enemies recognised by you suffer from numerous debuffs, and allies gain more strength. More importantly, it is the only skill that can fight against the title effects of the demons. Right now, it is the only skill that can help you.]
Hope ignited within Kevin, and he couldn’t help but sigh a breath of relief. As he was still inexperienced, needless to say, the cunning demon perceived the changes in the boy’s demeanour. Immediately, it became suspicious.
Be that as it may, no matter how cunning it was, even it could not predict the ability that was about to manifest in this world again after a long time.
"How do I use the ’Crimson Field’?"
[It’s simple; just designate the person in your field of vision as the enemy and shout the name.]
PHEW... Kevin took a deep breath and glanced at the demon. Killing intent burst out of his body as he thought about all the atrocities the other party committed and the pain of the mother lying in a pool of blood.
[Tiamat] fed on his intense emotions and leaked out a red aura as deep as blood.
"[Crimson Field]."
BOOM... The moment he shouted out the name of the skill, the red aura burst out, quickly covering an area of about ten metres. A thin red film shrouded the building like a dome.
"W-What?!" The demon suddenly felt itself growing weaker and its movements becoming slow. Then, before it could do anything, the squire in front of him rushed forward and executed the first light of the [Holy Blade Arts]
.A beautiful swing with no wasted movement, executed in perfect breath and swing.
The last thing the demon saw was the world rotate and its own torso. Then a sword came stabbing, ending its sorry life. The demon did not have the time to even regenerate before it was killed.
Kevin rushed forward and hurriedly caught the baby. Thankfully, the baby suffered no damage. He just sighed in relief when... BADUMP... he felt a severe pain in his heart.
"Kuh!" He clenched his hand towards his heart.
What was going on?
[This is the aftereffect of using the ’Crimson Field’ at your level. Thankfully, you only opened it for a short three seconds. Try not to use this ability too much until you raise your Aether stat.] Tiamat explained.
Kevin nodded; the next second, he ignored the pain and picked up the blood soaked woman from the ground. She was still breathing faintly and could be saved. Unfortunately, he was unable to use any holy skill. He needed to get her to his companions soon.

The purge raged for hours. The capital was infested far deeper than anyone had imagined. By the time night arrived, the entire capital looked like a battlefield.
Smoke curled from shattered rooftops. The smell of burnt demon flesh mingled with the metallic tang of spilled blood.
Knights slumped around everywhere, calming their laboured breathing and drinking potions.
Thankfully, the damage to the capital was kept to a minimum and the losses incurred... were none.
With the city slowly settling down, people slowly emerged from their hiding spots. Most of them were too afraid to peek at what was going on outside. As such, they missed the entire action.
So when they saw the scene of destruction, they were quite shaken.
"Move to the plaza."
On the knight’s command, they all moved obediently to the plaza. By now, there was no demon left to cause trouble, and the citizens had also started becoming more well behaved.
Before long, everyone in the capital went through the trial and proved their innocence.
DING... DONG... At this hour, the bell of Solaris Tower rang. Usually, it only rang twice a day, early morning at 6 AM and during sunset at 5 PM. The bell had already rang twice, and it ringing once again at this unusual time could only mean one thing.
A royal appearance!!
Whether it be Reinhardt, the other Six Commanders, the knights, or the royal guards, they all gathered in front of the plaza. The flames from Yggdrasil illuminated their battle-marked figures and heroic presence.
The crowd gulped, opening a path for them.
At the same time, the Queen also arrived. She was not riding in a carriage, nor did she bring a line-up of royal guards with her. Instead, she arrived on foot, flanked by Karina and two royal guards.
Traces of sweat and exhaustion were evident on her body, a telltale sign that the Queen wasn’t doing nothing while the entire capital was embroiled in a mess.
As proof, not long after, the many royal guards who remained behind brought carts of food, drinks, and warm clothes for everyone.
As it turns out, she had bought out numerous shops of their wares and even took the rations from the emergency supply of the royal palace. All so she could help the poor citizens who had just gone through a harrowing experience. The Queen was being helpful in her own way.
With measured steps, she rose to the platform and turned to address her people.
"People of Solaris, hear me. Today, our capital faced the truth that has lurked beneath its streets for years. Demons infested our homes, our halls, our courts, and our hearts." Her imperial voice caused everyone to hold their breath.
Finally, the truth was revealed to everyone. Everything that happened in the court and her subsequent orders that the knights acted on.
"But thanks to the Divine Paladin, the Seven Great Commanders, and every knight and royal guard who raised their blade, we have purged them all."
At that announcement, waves of relief swept through the crowd. Few broke down in sobs, having experienced what it felt like to be at the mercy of demons for the first time in their lives.
