The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 571- Please Save Cecilia

Chapter 571: Chapter 571- Please Save Cecilia

Had they not acted as Eleanor’s escort, who knew how many casualties there would have been on the set? The crew must have realized this, which is why they contacted the local knight authorities for protection.

After all, the ones here were essentially Eleanor’s escorts.

"I see."

Everyone sighed a breath of relief. Then they all tactfully decided to leave the room, giving the patient some peace and quiet.

As for Kevin, the insensitive fellow was dragged by Gwen, who promised to explain everything to him in simpler terms.

When everyone was gone, Delicia glanced at Eleanor, and after hesitating for a while, she asked in a soft voice.

"What about you? Are you fine continuing like this?"

Others might not know about her past, but Delicia was close to Melissa and knew about Eleanor a fair bit.

The attack today must have caused her significant mental strain. She would not be surprised if Eleanor wanted to return to Snowpoint City.

Though to her surprise, the latter met her eyes and spoke in a firm tone.

"I won’t let fear dictate my life. If I run every time danger appears, then I’ll never truly move forward. And besides, I have you all."

Looking at Eleanor’s resolution, Delicia couldn’t help but feel something within her stir.

She was just like Eleanor before, hesitant and afraid to face her past. However, now not only had she left her past behind, but she was even moving forward.

It was the same for Eleanor, and the person spurring them forward was none other than Reinhardt.

It was a bizarre connection.

"Then we’ll make sure to double our vigilance so that something like this doesn’t happen again."

It was a sentiment that not just her but everyone in the escort squad shared.

Furthermore, this decision of theirs would soon be proven correct later down the line when the two deserters from Cerberus were captured, and the investigation revealed a harrowing fact.

.

.

After nearly twenty relentless days of travel, the banner of the Temple of Light finally appeared upon the horizon of Rune.

The journey itself had been anything but uneventful.

As Reinhardt hadn’t taken a pre-established route and instead chose to pioneer his own path, the order had to face territories infested with monsters, zones, and jungles roaming with powerful beasts.

The convoy was forced to face them head-on, plunging straight into danger.

For the knights of the Temple of Light, this journey became something far greater than simple travel.

It became a battlefield of growth.

Feral direwolves, acid spitting centipedes, towering ogres, there was hardly a single day when they could rest properly.

Yet despite their exhaustion, everyone fought hard, especially the squires and new recruits.

They continued to push their bodies to the limit. For even the new recruits not to slouch and give their best, the reason was simple.

It was because of the environment of the Temple of Light.

When one sees someone trying their hardest, it naturally causes others to also give their best.

In other words, the attitude and diligence of the high-ranking knights and others rubbed off on them.

As a result, their talent began to bloom. Adaptation, growth, and evolution.

The training they had endured under Reinhardt’s merciless standards finally bore fruit. The new recruits learned how to weave footwork and channel the aggression within them into a combat rhythm.

They also learned how to fight in formation and cover their teammates’ weaknesses. Although they were still filled with openings, it was nonetheless a great start.

As for squires and knights, they were able to tap into the potential of their class skills mid battle and deepen their understanding of the skills Reinhardt passed onto them.

It was not only they, but even the Holy Knights whose growth had stagnated after reaching the level they were in, made some progress.

Reinhardt provided his guidance whenever he could.

Most of the fighting was left to the knights of his order, and he mostly guarded the servants and maids who tagged along with them.

Even Elina contributed her aid as she promised.

Being a marksman, she possessed many tracking and sensory skills, allowing the knights to detect the monsters coming almost from a mile away.

Additionally, with her powerful and sharp instinct, she was quickly able to adapt to the fighting style of the knights, blending in with the order seamlessly.

Thus, by the time the distant walls of Rune appeared, the Temple of Light had already undergone a silent transformation.

.

The massive stone walls of Rune’s capital loomed like an ancient giant before them. These walls and their architecture carried over a hundred years of history and dignity.

Watchtowers stood at measured intervals, and armored knights manned the gates. The arrival of a large column of knights did not go unnoticed.

Many eyes were inadvertently drawn towards them.

"Whoa, that’s a large division of knights. Are they coming back from an expedition?"

"Given the armor they are wearing and their aura, they seem to be a famous knight order. However, this is weird. I don’t recall seeing a flag like that in Rune."

Naturally, rumors and whispers started spreading with their arrival.

It was high noon, and the gates were naturally filled with traveling merchants and caravans lining up to enter the city.

As Reinhardt had already informed the royalty of Rune of their arrival, Reinhardt and his Order did not need to crowd the gates for long.

Soon, an attendant came to lead them in.

Once inside, everyone craned their necks to look around.

"So this is the capital of Rune? I must say it’s quite big."

"Well, it’s orderly, clean, and well structured. But it lacks vitality."

The streets of Rune were wide and well maintained, the buildings were more than four stories tall, and the markets were fairly crowded.

For many of the members of the Temple of Light, the sight was new for them. And as citizens of Solaris, they couldn’t help but compare the two.

"Compared to our capital, this place feels kinda stiff."

The squires commented, unaware that their words were like invisible daggers plunging at the heart of the attendant.

The latter somehow managed to keep their smile despite the awkward atmosphere.

Amidst such a mood, the order appeared in front of their residence.

"Everyone, please rest here. The journey to Rune must have been long and exhausting. Tomorrow, a royal attendant will come and lead you to the palace."

After saying everything they needed to, that attendant took his leave.

Reinhardt did not pay it much attention and looked at the accommodation given to them. Although this was an informal visit and he did not represent the crown of Solaris, Jerrel, however, was unstinting with his hospitality.

The order of the Temple of Light got the same treatment as a foreign dignitary.

"Alright, everyone rest up. Don’t forget to clean your armor and weapons. If you want to explore the city, you may do so later."

With that, he was the first one to head in. After finding a suitable room for himself, he sat down and made plans for his next move.

.

The next day, a royal attendant arrived at the Temple of Light’s temporary residence and escorted Reinhardt and his Holy Knights to the Royal Palace of Rune.

Inside the Audience Hall, Jerrel was already waiting. He stood at the center of the hall, clad in his signature emerald green armor.

When Reinhardt and his entourage were led in, the assembly was stunned when they saw the two knights walk towards each other with an indescribable expression.

For a moment, the atmosphere in the audience hall became incredibly heavy. Even the motion of gulping seemed extremely difficult.

What was going on? Are the two about to fight?

Just as the thought took root in their minds, to their surprise, the two famous knights clasped each other’s hands in a hearty handshake.

"Reinhardt."

"King Jerrel."

The two acknowledged each other. Their voices overlapped with familiarity, shattering the solemn atmosphere of the hall.

This! A wave of astonishment rippled through the ministers.

A king greeting a foreign commander in such a way as if the two were in equal standing.

It needs to be mentioned that Jerrel was now a king, a head of a nation, commanding a legion of knights and their orders. He was no longer just the commander of the Order of the Emerald.

Although they were astonished, they did not open their mouths to butt in. After all, everyone present knew the history between these two.

Without Reinhardt, Jerrel would never have stood here today.

"How is Solaris doing? I heard there was an incident recently in the capital that led to a nationwide purge?"

"Yeah, it was a purge to stunt the demon’s growing influence." Reinhardt nodded, explaining the event that took place. Of course, he chose to omit certain parts and only revealed those that were known to the public.

Besides, with the information network of Rune, they might already know a lot about the recent purge of Solaris.
