Chapter 599: Chapter 599- The Shocking News
.
The colossal creature had been showing unusual movements and had gone through rapid changes.
That was not all; dozens of eyes popped up all around its body, and a gigantic mouth big enough to swallow entire cities formed on its body.
And it would become a living, walking fortress of death that continuously spawned demons.
Standing at the front of the group, Erza looked at the nest with a complex expression. Though she didn’t remain in that state for long.
The gathered commanders prepared to attack when suddenly the sky above Lunaris was split open.
Sword in hand, they stood mid stance while looking at the sky in a daze.
KIEEEEEEEKKK....
Then BOOM, like an overinflated balloon, the nest’s body burst apart, and a pillar of white mist charged out of it.
It pierced through the nest and through the heavens themselves.
For a moment, the world was illuminated.
While the world outside was in turmoil, the inside of the nest was ironically silent.
Although it was trying to regenerate, the attack was no simple flesh wound; it was destroying it from within.
Reinhardt stood silently, looking at the spot where Sir Giacomo had been.
Although all of his skills were visually impactful, even among all that, [Ascendant Strike] stood above the others.
That last strike of his had gone far beyond what was necessary for a single opponent.
Even he could feel the lingering distortion in the air, the faint instability left behind by that overwhelming force.
For most enemies, even those at the peak, a simple [Exalted Strike] would have sufficed.
On the other hand, not only was [Ascendant Strike] a more powerful skill, but it was also indiscriminate.
A growing calamity, something that could not be allowed even the slightest chance to move from this place.
The nest would die in a few moments; that end was irreversible.
Apart from her being frozen in a daze, there was no scratch or wound on her body.
When Reinhardt walked up to her, she stared at him inexplicably; her mind struggled to grasp what she had just witnessed.
Cecilia blinked, as if returning from a distant place, then gave a small, uncertain nod.
Reinhardt nodded and kept the halo back in his [Dimensional Storage].
After that, he led her out of the nest.
Cecilia once again replied affirmatively.
She quietly stared at the man who came into this hellhole to save her.
However, for some reason, her senses were telling her that she could trust him.
Thankfully, the silence worked for her.
Reinhardt led the way while Cecilia followed two steps behind.
Outside, it was total chaos.
"Did you see the sky?! Did it really crack or are my eyes playing tricks on me?"
"Could it be caused by an attack?"
A commotion had erupted among the knights when suddenly someone shouted.
At that moment, all eyes turned towards the nest covering the city in the distance.
Ashes drifted off from the edges, disintegrating into nothing.
When a demon they turn into ash, and right in front of them, the same scene was happening.
"It’s dying?! The nest is dying!"
Awe and disbelief spread among the crowd.
If they were to fight that thing, who knew how many casualties they would have to take.
While most of the other knight orders did not know who it was that killed the nest, how could they not recognize the power that had taken everyone by surprise.
It had to be their commander.
Arms crossed and cloak fluttering with the wind behind her, she gave off a beautiful yet heroic atmosphere.
They were cold, calculating, and composed.
The attack that shattered the sky.
Power like that, its essence was something she was quite familiar with.
She clicked her tongue softly.
A while later, two figures emerged from the half disintegrated corpse of the Abyss Nest.
What’s more, from the unbothered way they walked out, it was as if they had gone for a casual stroll inside the Abyss Nest.
The moment the knights of the Temple of Light saw the figure walking in front, they rushed towards him, crowding him from all sides.
Reinhardt exchanged a few words with his knights before walking towards the camp in the distance.
Earlier, when they saw the Temple of Light coming out of the mouth of the nest, they were quite shocked.
While the knights were shocked, the expressions of the commanders were even more complex.
Now standing in the face of that man, they did not have the courage to match his eyes.
"Had you come up any later, we would have to fetch your corpse from the ruins."
She looked at the completely unharmed figure of Reinhardt and was inwardly surprised in her heart.
Reinhardt did not answer; he simply stepped aside and revealed the figure of a person trying to hide herself behind him.
