The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 618- Leona’s Strange Behavior

Chapter 618- Leona’s Strange Behavior

Reinhardt could only smile helplessly.

Last night, in the tavern, after the serious talk was over, the group had returned to drinking. And perhaps... Leona had drunk a little too much. Actually, far more than a little.

She became relaxed in a way no one had ever seen. The fearless commander who usually looked like an icy queen suddenly became... clumsy and strangely feminine. She spoke rapidly about things that made no sense at all.

Happy one second, furious the next.

What shocked everyone more was when she suddenly started scolding Reinhardt for reasons even she seemed not to understand.

At some point, she had clung to his arm while muttering complaints into his shoulder, completely unaware of how close she was.

Of course, the night did not end like that. Things became even more ’exciting.’

And the power of one of the Seven Great Knight Commanders, when she is excited, needs no explanation.

Needless to say, things started breaking. Chairs, tables, walls... By the time the chaos ended, the entire tavern was on the verge of collapse. The owner was nearly in tears.

The other commanders had to pay for the damage Leona caused. Thankfully, the knights of the Lunar Veil arrived just in time to drag her away, or the entire block might have been flattened.

Remembering it now, Reinhardt sighed quietly.

Across the hall, as if sensing his gaze, Leona turned to look at him. Almost the next second, she snapped her head away, clearly avoiding eye contact.

Reinhardt could only smile awkwardly. It seemed that after sobering up, she remembered everything.

The party continued. After speaking with the other commanders, Reinhardt glanced toward Leona again.

She was still standing at the far side of the hall.

Seeing this, he started walking toward her.

The moment Leona sensed him approaching, her eyes widened.

Oh no.

She immediately turned around and started walking in the opposite direction. Since her eyes were not on the road, she bumped into a servant carrying drinks.

This caused her to stumble back and nearly fall to the ground.

Had it been any other moment, a Level‑9 Extreme Knight like Leona would never stumble like that, much less after colliding with a regular human.

But right now, Leona simply could not be said to be in the right state of mind.

Thus, her folly.

"Are you alright?"

Reinhardt caught her before she fell. While he managed to save her, the glasses were not so lucky.

CRASH...

They hit the marble floor, creating a minor scene. That was the least of Leona’s concern.

Seeing Reinhardt’s face so close, his arms holding her shoulders, his white suit, neatly combed hair, and eyes that seemed to hold the light of the Sun itself, Leona felt her heart pounding like a drum.

BADUMP... BADUMP... BADUMP...

"Leona... I’m not here to talk about last night."

The moment he spoke those words, Leona’s face turned completely crimson.

"W-WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT LAST NIGHT?!"

The next second, she jumped in front of him like a defensive wall.

"Forget about it."

At that moment, her face turned icy again, and she reverted back to her usual self. The change was so abrupt that Reinhardt blinked.

"Alright."

Although he had no choice but to nod on the surface, inwardly he was dying to know what was going on with her.

Why had she clung to him like that yesterday?

What was she trying to say while drunk?

He would probably never know.

Not far away, two familiar figures watched the entire exchange.

Raymond smiled warmly and crossed his arms.

"Well, well... Looks like our son finally found a woman he likes."

His gaze landed on Leona, and he nodded approvingly.

"The daughter of House Valkyrie, huh? Not bad."

Beside him stood Verdia. However, unlike Raymond, her expression was far more complicated. There was a faint pang of pain in her heart as she watched Reinhardt and Leona standing together.

She should be happy. Reinhardt finding someone he liked was a wonderful thing.

Yet... something in her felt a quiet ache.

Not far above the hall, seated near the royal balcony, the Queen was also watching the lively exchange unfold.

Before she could think further, a familiar voice echoed inside her mind.

"Look what happened."

Her brows twitched. She immediately knew who it was.

Minerva. The other soul within her, teased lightly.

"Since you insist on being so formal with him all the time, you drove him straight into the arms of another woman."

"That’s not..."

Without anyone aware of it, she silently argued with her other self.

Nearby, Vanessa watched the entire situation unfold, a slow smile curling on her lips.

"How interesting."

The interaction between Reinhardt and Leona had been far more amusing than she expected.

They were not the only observers.

Many eyes inside the grand hall were silently watching Reinhardt’s every move.

One of them belonged to Marquis Boulevard, the husband of Melissa and one of Reinhardt’s fiercest admirers.

Among the many eyes, some already had a deep connection with him, the others simply wanted to understand him.

After all, the man standing in the hall was no ordinary noble. He was one of the three strongest knights of the kingdom.

A hero, a warrior who had defeated terrifying enemies and saved countless lives.

Naturally, a man like Reinhardt attracted everyone’s attention.

.

Near the central district of the capital, a small group walked out of the cathedral.

Leading them was a boy of about fifteen years, with short black hair and carrying a large crimson shield. The young man, practically bouncing with excitement, was none other than Kevin.

Behind him were Gwen, Delicia, Rolan, and the elegant actress Eleanor. The group had just finished visiting the cathedral’s Altar to check on their statuses.

"So how did it go, everyone?!"

Kevin puffed his chest proudly and declared.

"I leveled up! I’m finally a Level 6 knight!"

"Idiot, to become a knight, you need to be knighted first."

The harsh words came from Gwen, dropping like a cold bucket of water on his parade. Yet her expression softened a little the next second.

"But you are right about one thing. I leveled up too, and I received a rare class from the Altar."

Kevin’s eyes widened.

"Whoa!"

He quickly turned toward the older woman beside them.

"What about you, big sister Delicia?"

Delicia smiled warmly.

"I leveled up, too. Though my class is different from the one I had when I first reached Level 6 a few years ago."

While she spoke casually, her heart was filled with quiet doubts. The class she had received was far rarer and far more powerful than before.

"Is no one going to ask about me?"

A voice spoke from behind them.

Rolan pointed at himself.

"Senior Rolan! Did you level up too?" Kevin asked.

Rolan thumped his armor.

"Of course I did. If it’s the current me, I can even defeat Senior Vengeance."

"Haha, I think you’ll get in trouble if Senior Vengeance hears that... though I would like to see that fight."

Gwen rolled her eyes at the two boys. All they thought about was fighting.

Nearby, Eleanor watched their exchange with an amused smile.

The group continued walking through the busy streets of the capital. But after a few minutes, they began to notice something strange.

People were gathering in small groups, talking excitedly. The atmosphere in the city felt... lighter, almost celebratory.

What was going on? Was there some kind of festival they did not know about?

Curious, Kevin approached a passerby.

"Excuse me, what’s everyone talking about?"

The man looked surprised.

"You don’t know?"

Kevin blinked.

"Sir Reinhardt Arcknight. The city is celebrating his accomplishments today. He is becoming a Viscount."

"What?"

The words shocked everyone. Even Gwen and Eleanor were stunned.

"Commander became a Viscount?" Kevin asked in disbelief.

"Commander?"

The man looked at them strangely.

"What happened while we were away...?"

Kevin turned toward the others. They had been on a long journey to escort Lady Eleanor. The "shooting" had taken them to all kinds of places. Apparently, a lot had happened in their absence.

The passerby, still looking at them strangely, suddenly noticed something on their armor, and his eyes widened.

"Wait a minute..."

He pointed at the emblem.

"Are you knights from the Order of the Temple of Light?"

Kevin and the others nodded.

"Yes."

"Then why are you standing here? If you’re knights of the Temple of Light, you should go attend the ceremony!"

The man pointed at the distant royal palace.

Kevin’s eyes instantly lit up.

"Really?!"

"Of course".

Then without waiting for anyone, Kevin turned around and bolted towards the royal palace.

"Kevin wait!" Gwen reached out but she was a step too late. She could only stare at him in disbelief.

"That idiot."

With no other choice, she sighed and began walking after him.

Delicia chuckled softly, and Rolan shook his head. Together, they followed behind him while carefully escorting Eleanor toward the palace.
