Chapter 621- Clash: Fighting With All Their Strength (3)
Chapter 621- Clash: Fighting With All Their Strength (3)
Had she been carrying the Earth Tycoon’s poop this whole time?
Silvia expression turned strangely pale, then blank.
Reinhardt seemed to find the situation amusing. He chuckled under his breath, watching Silvia process exactly what she had been carrying on her back all along.
"Don’t think too much."
He flicked her forehead and spoke.
"Your contribution has been noted. This time, you did an excellent job."
Saying that, he pushed the heavy bag toward her.
"Commander?"
"Keep the gold. You and Vangeance earned that. I will take the minerals. But the gold is yours."
It was their achievement. Their reward for putting their lives at stake.
.
Not far away, a loud crowd had gathered around the sparring ring.
Kevin vs Vangeance.
The two fought fiercely. Kevin charged forward. His movements were fast and sharp. He had already entered the transcendent state of [One With the Sword], attuning his body and blade as one.
"[Holy Blade Art]!"
He executed the sword technique he had learned. The wooden sword cut the air like a blinding light. First Light... Second Light... He used one technique after another.
The surrounding knights watched in amazement. Kevin’s swordsmanship had clearly grown far stronger. But it was still not enough to defeat Vangeance.
The latter dodged and parried every attack without even moving from his place. From the very start, he stood in the same position, never taking a step back.
His eyes calmly followed Kevin’s blade. Every movement, every strike was read through like an open book.
Kevin’s sword never came close to touching him.
The situation continued, and after several minutes, Kevin finally stopped. As he stood there, breathing heavily, he stared at Vangeance.
How? What’s going on?
There was no doubt that he had become Level 6. He had also mastered the transcendent state of [One With the Sword].
Yet he still couldn’t make Vangeance take even a single step.
Of course, he wasn’t using [Tiamat] or his strange abilities. But Vangeance hadn’t used any of his skills either. They were both purely relying on their stats and swordsmanship.
Yet despite all that, it felt like the distance between them had never changed.
Vangeance smiled faintly.
"What? Did you really think I’d let you brats surpass me?"
Seeing Kevin’s shocked expression, he continued.
"You’re not the only one who leveled up. I’m a Level 7 High Ranking Knight now."
Vangeance brandished his wooden sword. Although his swordsmanship still carried his signature rough, wild style, there was a new elegance woven into it now.
"You’re still a hundred years too early to fight me."
Vangeance moved, and before Kevin could react...
TAP.
A single, precise strike knocked the sword from his hand.
The duel was over. Kevin had been defeated.
Vangeance looked around at the watching knights, and his eyes landed on Rolan. He grinned.
"Want to give it a try?"
Earlier, Rolan had clearly looked extremely eager to fight. Now, that enthusiasm had vanished.
Rolan shook his head with a bitter smile.
"I’ll pass."
As someone older than Kevin and the others, he had been beaten up by Senior Vangeance the most. Today, he had thought he could finally reverse that status quo. But it seemed his dream would remain a dream.
He could tell at a glance that Vangeance had read every single one of Kevin’s attacks.
It wasn’t just a difference in stats and swordsmanship. It was the [Heart of the Sword], a transcendent state he had seen Silvia and other high‑ranking knights use.
Rolan rejected the challenge, and so did the others. But then, all of a sudden, someone no one expected to accept the challenge stepped into the ring.
Her long orange hair swayed gently in the morning breeze. She wore a simple training outfit that hugged her curvaceous figure, giving her a look that was both beautiful and heroic.
The person stepping into the sparring ring was none other than Delicia.
"Big sister Delicia?"
Kevin blinked in disbelief.
Vangeance too looked at her in surprise. But after a moment, it turned into curiosity and genuine interest.
Although he had only meant to challenge the juniors and put them back in their place, Delicia’s acceptance of his challenge was a welcome surprise.
Their commander had high expectations for this woman. Vangeance had long wondered just how strong had she become?
He raised his wooden sword and pointed it at her.
"Alright. Let’s see it."
No unnecessary words were spoken. The moment the two raised their swords, the battle began.
They moved at the same time.
Delicia came charging forward, and Vangeance smoothly parried.
CLAK... CLAK... CLAK...
In just a couple of seconds, dozens of moves were exchanged.
Delicia had years of experience under her belt.
Vangeance had fought countless battles in life‑threatening situations.
In just a few exchanges, the two of them understood each other’s style, patterns, and flow.
Vangeance fought with a reckless, wild-looking style. But beneath that apparent chaos was incredible precision and raw power. Every strike carried heavy force.
Delicia’s style was the complete opposite. Her sword moved swiftly and smoothly, strikes soft and flowing, almost graceful. Yet each movement was deadly, sharp, and lethal.
CLAK... CLAK...
Their swords clashed again and again. Even though it was just a spar, their battle was so intense that it drew the attention of even some high‑ranking knights.
"Whoa..."
Kevin and Rolan watched carefully.
Although the fight was still one‑sided with Senior Vangeance clearly holding the advantage, it wasn’t as predictable as when Kevin had sparred.
There were feints, subtle parries, and sudden shifts in tempo. The difference in experience was obvious.
For several minutes, the duel continued.
At first, Vangeance clearly held the advantage. He was a step ahead of his opponent. Every time Delicia attacked, he countered; every time she defended, he pressed her harder.
Yet for some reason, he felt a strange inconsistency.
Each time their swords clashed, a small shock ran through his arms, as if the impact was slightly off from his expectations.
He had judged countless times the exact amount of strength he needed to block or deflect her attacks.
But each time, his judgment seemed wrong.
It only lasted a moment, but in a battle of this level, every tiny opening was a fatal flaw.
Delicia did not let the opportunity slip. She charged in. Her sword slipped through Vangeance’s defense with a graceful, twisting movement and was about to strike his right upper quadrant.
But in the end, the latter reacted with superhuman reflexes and narrowly dodged the blow.
Everyone present stared in shock, including Vangeance himself.
"He moved..."
Kevin muttered in disbelief. As someone who had just fought Senior Vangeance, he couldn’t believe Delicia had forced him to step back.
"Well done," Vangeance acknowledged. Although it was only a single, half step, and he had been distracted, the fact remained: he had moved from his place.
And the reason for his distraction was also Delicia’s doing. He had no grounds to complain.
"Let’s end it here."
He had seen enough. He had felt how strong Delicia had become. The difference was significant, as if she had gone through a metamorphosis.
Just what happened to her?
With that thought in mind, he looked down at his wooden sword.
That was the moment he realized something.
His wooden blade was dented, a large crack running through the middle of its body.
Had he continued the match just a little longer, the next attack would have shattered the sword.
Vangeance’s eyes widened. He then understood the strange feeling he had been sensing during the duel.
He turned toward Delicia’s sword and saw it in the same state... dented, cracked, barely holding together.
It was Delicia.
Her stats were far stronger than what her displayed level suggested. Every time their swords clashed, the reason he couldn’t judge the force behind her attacks was his own preconceived notions.
Just because he knew her level was lower than his, he had unconsciously put a limiter on how much power he expected from her. That flaw in judgment had thrown him off every time.
Still, the fact that she had pushed him to this point with pure physical capability with nothing but her own body and sword, was astonishing.
"Miss Delicia has become stronger," Vangeance said, looking at her with genuine respect.
"Thank you," Delicia smiled sweetly. Even she was surprised by how much her strength had grown.
Just as Delicia turned to leave the ring, he called out.
"Miss Delicia... take my words with a grain of salt..." Vangeance spoke again, his voice suddenly serious.
"I might be wrong, but I think your swordsmanship is holding you back."
He looked at her sword and commented.
Delicia blinked. "Holding me back?"
Vangeance nodded. "It doesn’t suit you. Of course, I am not saying your swordsmanship is bad. Your techniques are good and very refined. But your power is something else entirely".
He stepped closer and gently tapped the weapon she had been using.
A small crack ran across the surface. The wooden blade had nearly broken from their clashes.
That alone said enough.
