Chapter 660- The Creation Of The Allied Knight Order
Chapter 660- The Creation Of The Allied Knight Order
In such an unfavorable land, the expedition force was doomed from the start.
But therein lies the question.
If the Tainted Lands were a no-man’s zone, why was Reinhardt advocating to form another Allied Knight Order and go delving inside those blighted lands again?
The smart ones and those in the know already understood his plans. They couldn’t help but marvel how he steered the entire summit to the outcome he desired.
Reinhardt continued.
"But things are different now. Like I said, the demons don’t fear humanity. They do not fear kingdoms or the knight orders."
"But there is one thing. One existence they have always feared. The World Tree."
It was that name again.
The rulers leaned forward. Their interest was piqued.
It was not only them. Several Heroes, high-ranking knights and others fell into contemplation.
Although a myth now, they had heard about a towering tree that connected the ground with the sky above.
In the legends, it was considered a sacred existence. Capable of purifying the mana veins of the whole planet.
It was a natural enemy of the demons who survived by polluting and corrupting mana.
"What does this have to do with Reinhardt?"
"This man, the summit is going in the exact direction he wanted it to."
Seated among the people was Erza.
As one of the Heroes of Nocturnium, she came here as escort of the royal family along with her knight order.
Having encountered Reinhardt back in the ruins of Lunaris, she was already aware of his plans.
When she came to Solaris, she made some time to go and visit the city where the World Tree was.
Sensing its vast vitality and its divine presence, she was finally convinced that the myth was real.
The purity of mana in Snowpoint City was so pure that she was left astonished.
Even she had to admit that the World Tree was truly capable of purifying mana of the whole world.
"Let me tell you all a story from a time long past. In ancient times, when the seven gods maintained the balance of the world, there used to be a nation called Elfenheim."
"A nation built by elves around the base of the World Tree. They revered and protected the World Tree as its guardian."
"At that time, the nation of Elfenheim was at the peak of its glory. Even the Seven Great Kingdoms of today couldn’t be compared to Elfenheim of the past, combined. That was how powerful they were."
"However, when the demons invaded the world and surged out of the Abyss, Elfenheim was one of the first nations to be targeted. The sole reason was due to the existence of the World Tree. As long as the World Tree stood, victory even for the demons with their unimaginable power was difficult."
Reinhardt was not spouting nonsense out of his mouth.
There were several records passed down from ancient times that documented the existence of such a kingdom.
In fact, Elfenheim wasn’t the only super kingdom recorded.
Mount Cragdor where the dwarves resided, Duskrun Expanse which the union of beastfolk called home, were some of the famous Super Kingdoms holding great military and prosperity in ancient times.
Being able to attend this summit, naturally the people here were no fools.
They had read the ancient records and knew that these kingdoms existed. Which validated everything that the Divine Paladin said.
After taking some time for his words to sink in, Reinhardt spoke again.
"The World Tree that has disappeared from this world has been revived."
For a moment, no one reacted.
Because the words didn’t register.
Though after a few seconds, the hall erupted in chaos.
"What? Revived?! Are my ears deceiving me? Did he really say the World Tree is revived?"
"How can that be? Can such an existence be revived again?"
"Indeed it can be. There are records saying that the World Tree can be revived as long as one has the Origin Seed."
"But isn’t that all a myth?"
Chaos and shock spread like wildfire.
Even the rulers sitting on the round table shed all their dignity as royals. They fiercely squabbled like a fish market.
At this moment, the Queen of Solaris raised her voice to calm everyone down.
"Everyone, please settle down. I know you all have a lot of questions. However, this is a summit and we must maintain decorum."
"And since Sir Reinhardt informed us about the World Tree, naturally he will explain all our doubts."
Even with her face covered with a veil, her charm as the most beautiful woman and the royalty she exuded instantly caused everyone to settle down.
They placed their attention back on Reinhardt. He stood before them with a calm smile on his face this entire time.
Seeing that he had their undivided attention, he spoke and explained how he revived the World Tree.
The reason he came to Lunaris and some of the intricacies of the World Tree.
Of course, some things like how he got the Origin Seed or the existence of Cecilia had to be hidden for the risk of endangering her life.
Solaris might be free of demon spies. But the same couldn’t be said to be true for all the other nations.
In fact, Reinhardt was sure that many demon scouts had infiltrated these nations and their higher echelons.
Trying to keep such key information a secret was not possible.
Sooner or later, the demons were bound to find these secrets and humanity’s actions.
At that time, the demons would naturally retaliate and try to hamper their plans.
There was a chance that even the World Tree would be endangered.
That said, Reinhardt wasn’t worried.
Since he decided to reveal the existence of the World Tree and his plans to the whole world, he naturally had the confidence that it would not go the way the demons wanted.
"Soon, the spirits should be able to descend onto this world again."
He thought inside his head.
The protection of the World Tree was not an issue.
"Soon, the Tainted Lands will change. Pure mana will flow in again. The blockage in the mana veins will be freed."
"The corruption will weaken. And when it does, it would be humanity’s greatest chance to launch a counterattack."
Silence fell once more.
All eyes converged towards Reinhardt.
However, this time the atmosphere in the hall was no longer gloomy.
No, now there was hope.
Reinhardt’s words burned like a reinvigorating fire. It quickly spread across the hall.
Kings, Queens, princes, princesses, envoys, knights. All of them felt their blood boiling after hearing those words.
Even the smaller nations, those who had lived their lives in fear, always waiting for the next demon attack, felt something they had not felt in a long time.
A future.
The summit began buzzing.
At this moment, the Queen of Solaris stood up from her seat and addressed the crowd.
"Excellent. After this I believe the situation is clear to all. In that case, let’s not delay."
"In front of all gathered here, I declare this. The Kingdom of Solaris backs its Divine Paladin and agrees to the creation of the Allied Knight Order."
The Queen’s voice carried authority and conviction.
She showed her stance and that of Solaris to stand with its knight.
All eyes turned towards her.
There was a brief pause. Then another voice followed.
The King of Aetherion stood from his seat.
"Father," Diana whispered from the side.
The king nodded at her. Then he placed his attention on Reinhardt.
"Divine Paladin, a man of strength and insight. Our kingdom survived a catastrophe because of you. Thus as the king of one of the Six Great Kingdoms, our kingdom of Aetherion stands with you."
Gasps rang out from all around the hall.
However, it was not just Aetherion who showed its support.
"We from the kingdom of Nocturnium give our full support in the creation of the Allied Knight Order."
The Old King of Nocturnium spoke.
Beside him, the Queen nodded.
Their eyes briefly turned to the knight standing behind them.
Erza Crimsonstar.
There was pride in their gaze and trust.
In fact, there was no need for Reinhardt to go through all the trouble to convince them.
They already approved the creation of the Allied Order due to the vehement insistence of the knight next to them.
"The Kingdom of Drakmore approves."
The king of Drakmore, a royalty and a knight, also showed his firm stance.
"Fufu, wonderful."
A soft, graceful laugh followed next.
"Solaris truly has a remarkable knight."
The Arch Queen of the oldest kingdom out of the seven spoke.
As a woman gifted with both beauty and acumen, she also stole a lot of gazes after the Queen of Solaris.
"I find myself quite envious."
She looked at Reinhardt, then nodded.
"Vesperia gives its approval."
"The Kingdom of Paradoxis approves as well."
One after another, the Six Great Kingdoms gave their approval.
When the Six biggest kingdoms came together, the rest followed.
The cautious rulers of the smaller nations, all of them raised their hands.
"Approved!"
