Chapter 1548: Chapter 1548: Dare to Hurt Me, Be Prepared to Bear My Wrath!

Morning has arrived~

Qiu Zimo nudged Si Chengze’s foot with hers.

Si Chengze got up, rubbing his still sleepy eyes.

"It’s morning. Let’s go!" Qiu Zimo was already heading out.

Si Chengze quickly followed after her...

The air in the forest was exceptionally fresh, feeling as though they had entered a natural reservoir of oxygen.

The morning sunlight wasn’t harsh, filtering softly through the dense canopy, forming a beautiful tableau.

The sounds of birds chirping, the rustling of wind through leaves, and the flowing of spring water blended seamlessly.

Following the sound, a crystal-clear stream appeared before them.

Sitting by the stream, Qiu Zimo removed the cloth from her shoulder. After a night, the fabric had stuck to her injured flesh, and removing it would inevitably tear the wound open again.

As she prepared to rip it off forcefully, a boy’s voice rang out sharply, "Don’t move!"

It was the first time someone dared to give her a command.

Si Chengze approached Qiu Zimo, "Big sister, if you tear it like that, the wound will bleed.

I have a better way!"

Watching Si Chengze dip his hand into the stream water and slowly moisten the bloodied fabric, loosening it bit by bit, Qiu Zimo observed quietly.

Washing the cloth in the stream, Si Chengze carefully cleaned Qiu Zimo’s wound. His movements were gentle and meticulous, occasionally blowing softly across her injury.

Seeing Si Chengze’s serious expression, the corner of Qiu Zimo’s mouth curved into a faint smile.

After cleaning the wound, Qiu Zimo pointed toward some nearby plants, "Pick those!"

"What are these?" Si Chengze asked, holding up the leaves he’d gathered.

"These are Sanqi leaves. They stop bleeding, reduce swelling, and relieve pain! Crush them and apply them to the wound." She had spotted the plants as they walked earlier.

"Oh! Got it! Big sis, you know so much!" Si Chengze said as he crushed the leaves.

A cryptic smile appeared momentarily on Qiu Zimo’s face...

"Big sister, brace yourself!" Si Chengze applied the crushed Sanqi leaves to Qiu Zimo’s shoulder wound.

Though the pain stung slightly, Qiu Zimo didn’t let it show.

When he was done, Si Chengze tore a clean piece of fabric from his undershirt and wrapped Qiu Zimo’s wound anew.

"Let’s go!" Qiu Zimo stood up.

"Where are we going?" Si Chengze asked, unsure of their destination.

"I’ll take you home!" For the first time, Qiu Zimo extended her hand toward Si Chengze.

The words "take you home" brought a renewed sense of safety to Si Chengze.

Looking at Qiu Zimo’s outstretched hand, Si Chengze felt an indescribable warmth in his heart.

From the moment Qiu Zimo took Si Chengze’s hand, neither could guess how their fates would intertwine from then on...

Walking on, they didn’t know how long they traveled until a towering iron wall came into view, lined with barbed electric wires.

Qiu Zimo held Si Chengze’s hand as she knocked on an iron door embedded in the wall.

The door slowly creaked open...

Outside, a crowd had gathered, their expressions filled with shock. Among them, the silver-haired elder at the front stood remarkably composed.

It was as though he had long expected this scene.

"Go on!" Qiu Zimo said, looking down at the boy beside her.

"Big sister, aren’t you coming with me?" Si Chengze noticed that she didn’t seem to intend to leave.

"I have something I must do!" Qiu Zimo tried to let go of Si Chengze’s hand.

In the next instant, Si Chengze gripped her hand tighter. "Big sister, are you leaving me?" he asked nervously, his small hand trembling slightly.

"No, I’m not leaving you. I just have an important matter to attend to. I’ll be back very soon!" Determination and a fiery resolve burned in Qiu Zimo’s gaze.

"But you’re injured, big sister. Going back like this will be dangerous!" Si Chengze said worriedly, refusing to release her hand.

"It won’t be a problem!" To Qiu Zimo, such injuries were inconsequential.

"Big sister~" Si Chengze still wasn’t willing to let go.

"Trust me. Wait for me here!" Qiu Zimo said firmly, looking into Si Chengze’s eyes.

"Zimo, are you..." The silver-haired elder spoke from outside the door.

"Uncle Mu, please take care of him for me.

If they dare to hurt me, they’d better be prepared to face my wrath!" Qiu Zimo’s icy gaze sent shivers down everyone present.

Without hesitation, Qiu Zimo turned and strode back into the depths of the forest...
