Chapter 1081: Chapter 1079-The Manipulation Game.

“So what’s going on between you and Krave?”

Luna asked when we were alone.

“I seem to have a little bit of a crush on Krave, and she seems a bit interested in me.”

I directly replied without hiding anything. My answer definitely pissed Luna off a bit as she narrowed her eyes, and before I could react, she was already on top of my head, giving me light, angry bites, which I took with a smile. Thus the next few minutes were spent with the two of us roughhousing together, just playful banter.

It ended with me lying straight on the bed with Luna huffing on my chest.

“You do know her interest only lies in the pleasure and novelty you can give her? You as a person aren’t special to her!”

Luna shouted, her words only caring for me, which made me smile as I ruffled her head a bit as she lay on my chest. She protested, but she enjoyed it too as she gave herself to my touch.

“I know…. of course I know….. how could I not?”

I smiled at the end of my words. Who is Krave? Unlike the rest of those Gods I dealt with, she had clawed her way to her position of power. No one gave it to her. She is ruthless, smart and way beyond small, cunning tactics. She is the behemoth of the ocean that carved her spot in this sea.

When one asks this main question, the chills will really set in.

Unlike the land, the sea is even more vast, filled with even more powerful monsters whose bodies could crush cities. And in the past, in that Era of Gods, from this vast sea that spreads across, to the vast monsters, she had come up to be the one that sat as the only ruler of the ocean. How did that happen?

Luck…. maybe a bit of it.

But you don’t sit at such a vast throne with just luck…. no…. no…. You have to be cunning beyond words, ruthless beyond measure, willing to do whatever it takes to get power, to be safe, to be the one that survives in the end.

The one who survives till the end is the winner.

That is the slogan by which Krave had lived and survived her whole life. Even to me, a manipulator like me, almost…. almost fell for it.

‘If it wasn’t for the system, I would be led by her like a lost puppy.’

I let that thought sink in. Unlike everything else, Krave has no idea about my system. None of the Gods does. The system which gets all of the information from them and from which I can buy information too.

Every move Krave made, every action she took, everything was meant to draw me in. Ever since she saw me, she was studying me, understanding me and trying to get to know me, so that she could play the perfect persona to appeal to me.

The even more terrifying part is that she did all this even knowing Luna would have told me everything about her. As for why she is doing this, only she can know. But take your pick. The loving son of Orpheus? The only guy who can play God in his hands? The mortal to reach God in a long time?

So many things to choose from by aligning with me. And the worst is her affection for me. She should feel affection for me like the rest of the Gods, but all she has is the amusement she is playing. And that attracts me a lot, a sense of my own ego blasting forth to break and conquer this woman, to see who will come out on top.

‘The truly terrifying part is I don’t even know if she meant for this to happen.’

Did she plan all this from the very beginning? Did she know that by doing this, it would awaken my desire to break and conquer her? Is this also all part of her plan? Even right now, am I playing to her tunes?

‘This feels quite disgusting, I tell you.’

[Look who’s talking….. tsk…. tsk…. I warned you from the beginning itself. From now on you will only be meeting more ones like her, ones that have been ruling this world. Their schemes and cunning are far beyond your own manipulations.]

‘I see that so clearly now….’

[Then why keep her close? She will backstab you the chance she gets, and truthfully, your chances of even forming anything are close to zero.]

‘Yeah. What better way to get better at my own manipulations and schemes than learning from the best of the best?’

[That is a road to defeat. Keeping her close opens her to many of your secrets. It’s a risky gamble.]

‘I know, but I need her. I need someone like her on my side. Someone willing to get such dirt to control allies and enemies to get the best results. I need that.’

[But she will never be on your side. Any schemes fall beneath her. She plays you and no one plays her.]

‘I know. But if I am to run away at difficulties, I would have killed myself on that journey in the past. Just how much have we not survived together? She too will be one who we will overcome.’

“Hey Luna.”

“Hm?”

“You will protect me against the big bad Kraken, right?”

I asked with a sly smile, one Luna knows quite well.

“Humph, just because she fed me doesn’t mean I won’t bite off some of her tentacles. It’s quite juicy!”

“Hahaha…. let’s hope it doesn’t come to that!”

I added as I went back to ruffling Luna’s hair.

‘You know why Krave is Luna’s friend right?’

[Yeah, friend is a stretch. But Krave is terrified of Luna in her heart.]

‘Yeah, when the greatest schemer meets an immovable giant that eats through everything, all she could do was this….’

Back in the day Krave had tried to scheme against Luna and it didn’t work out well. It had ended up with them forming this kind of friendship. It’s quite the story about one of Krave’s rare defeats, but in the end she even escaped the consequences of scheming against the God Eater and even got this, after trying to kill Luna.

Luna is everything Krave wishes she was.

In all technicality, the Kraken is indeed one of the greatest beasts in the world. But during that era she saw a beast beyond compare rip through everything and anything, and she felt a deep sense of inferiority.

If she had that much power, would she have had to do all this to survive and be the one that comes out on top?

She would have eaten her way through all of that to be the winner in the end. And thus as she watched Luna achieve the impossible and sit as a High God, she felt that deep sense of inferiority that still lives within her. A situation pretty similar yet different from Ella, and I can use that too against Krave.

The one other reason I did not mention was also how Luna is with me. Would conquering me grant her control and authority over the God Eater? I can’t exactly work into her psychology. Unlike the younger girls I deal with, this time it isn’t easy to understand what the thoughts of Krave are. A single mistake and I would be the one in trouble and lost.

‘But that is also what makes this fun….’

[Definitely crazy.]

‘Gotta be something in this day and age to survive.’

I shot back. Truthfully I do have a plan on how to deal with Krave, but it will change based on how the situation changes. So there is no fixed path I will be taking. My plans will change based on her.

‘But there is one thing I am not giving away…I plan to fuck her mind out…..’
