Chapter 358 - First impression
Chapter 358: 358 - First impression
Qingyi’s beautiful purple eyes focused on that man’s golden eyes, a strange sensation taking over his body.
They were... like his; deep, like an endless sea of stars. The only difference was that they were gold instead of purple.
[Be careful, this is a true dragon. He’s not like that parasite you met before]. Ruxue’s sweet, soft voice echoed in Qingyi’s mind.
’A true dragon?’ Qingyi’s eyes fluttered slightly.
[Yes, why the hell is there one of these bastards outside the celestial heaven? Fuck...] Ruxue’s voice was filled with a point of anxiety.
In the end, the handsome young man just sighed.
It didn’t matter. As long as that expert had no negative intentions towards him, Qingyi would just try to avoid him.
After all, he was much closer to the celestial heaven and, once he got there, the chances of someone identifying his lineage, although small, still existed.
"Long Qingyi greets senior." He bowed respectfully, drawing a soft laugh from the golden dragon.
"No need for such respect, young man. Tai’Ren spoke highly of you, hahaha. You can call me Long Tianjin, I’m the patriarch of the dragon people." Tianjin spoke, turning his face slightly and raising his hands.
A single movement, small and smooth, but the whole world around them changed, space distorting violently.
By the time Qingyi realized it, they were all standing in front of a large golden palace, built at the base of a huge statue of a golden dragon, whose shadow hid the entire city below.
’Ah... even more megalomaniacal than the people of the Blue Sea Kingdom...’ Qingyi sighed mentally, shaking his head slightly.
It was only natural.
Turning his face, he looked at Linyue, clinging tightly to him, pulling his arm into the deep valley between her breasts, her eyes shining as she observed everything there.
"Come on, my old friend, you were the last to arrive." Tianjin spoke, turning around, his golden robes seeming to float as he climbed the grand white marble staircase.
The moment they reached the top, Qingyi’s eyes met thousands of people, mostly young talents, all with cultivations at the peak of the False Immortal realm.
He was the only one there below this realm and naturally received many looks of contempt, especially from the arrogant dragons.
"Uncomfortable?" Tianjin asked, turning his face slightly towards Qingyi.
"No... I feel at home..." Qingyi gave a small smile.
He was excited to make those arrogant bastards choke with their own looks of contempt.
Those words drew soft laughter from both Tai’Ren and Tianjin.
"Yes... a black dragon is still a black dragon after all." Tianjin sighed, turning his face towards two young dragons, both with white horns and arrogant looks.
One of them, Qingyi quickly recognized: Long Xuefeng, a young man with white dragon blood whom he had very cheerfully beaten up with Lioran.
’So... the other one must be his older brother.’ Qingyi thought.
"These are some of the greatest talents of this generation of my people," Tianjin spoke up. "Long Xuefeng, Long Jinrui, show our guests to their rooms, I have important business to attend to."
"Yes, patriarch." They both bowed at the same time, Xuefeng’s voice coming out slurred and angry, unlike his brother’s, which was cold and disinterested.
"If you’re going to cause trouble, avoid killing or crippling." Tai’Ren patted Qingyi on the shoulder.
"Don’t put my baby at risk..." Linyue’s mother passed him soon after, messing up his hair before following behind her husband.
Watching the two of them follow Tianjin, Qingyi just smiled.
Fortunately, he had good parents-in-law.
Shaking his head, he looked up at Xuefeng.
There were dozens of people in the cat people’s entourage, many young talents and powerful guards, but Xuefeng’s gaze was only on Qingyi, no one else.
"Young master Xuefeng... I hope I haven’t hurt your fragile pride too much... it was an honorable fight."
"Honorable fight? You..." Xuefeng swallowed his anger before turning away, his eyes blazing.
"Ah... do you have something against my brother, Young Master Qingyi? I’ve heard rumors about your accomplishments and I’m anxious to see if it’s all true, hahaha." Jinrui laughed, not even paying attention to his younger brother’s tantrum.
"We just had a little dispute and well, I came out on top," Qingyi returned Jinrui’s laugh, offering a firm handshake.
"Well, my brother is that kind of person..." Jinrui shook his head, turning and signaling for everyone to follow him.
Many of the cat people’s young talents were uncomfortable seeing Qingyi as the sole center of attention, but in the end, what could they do about it?
Throw themselves on the ground and cry?
They just followed silently.
"Nyan, I don’t like this one..." Linyue spoke, holding onto Qingyi a little tighter, sticking out her tongue at the figure on Jinrui’s back.
The young dragon stopped for a moment, the delicate, dignified features of his masculine face distorting briefly before he continued walking, his shoulders shaking gently.
After a moment to calm his breathing, Jinrui turned his face slightly, his voice cold and dripping with venom.
"My mother once gave me a pet kitten, small, cute, but very cheeky. One day, it spilled ink on a poem I was preparing for my master...
Do you know what I did with it?"
After getting no response, he continued.
"I broke his little legs, then tore off his tail, collapsed his lungs and, in the end, broke his neck. I was careful to keep him alive until the end." Jinrui smiled, his face exuding nothing but incomparable purity and kindness.
Linyue immediately hid behind Qingyi, every hair on her tail standing up.
"Be careful, young master Jinrui," Qingyi smiled back. "I’m a great lover of cats, just as I’m a great lover of breaking bones and ripping out teeth."
"I’ll be careful, hahaha," Jinrui laughed, barely paying attention to Qingyi before continuing to guide them through the grand and luxurious corridors of the golden mansion.
The handsome young man could only sigh.
His first impression of Jinrui had been rather positive compared to the one he had of Xuefeng, but in the end, they were fruit from the same tree.
