The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System

Chapter 394 - A long story

Chapter 394: 394 - A long story

Long Tianjin reclined on his golden throne, his face resting on his clenched fist.

His golden eyes swept coldly over Qianyao and Qingyi before his lips parted in a sigh.

"Did you sleep with my daughter?" Tianjin inquired.

"Yes." Qingyi nodded, without a hint of fear in his voice.

Tianjin did not react to that answer, only turning his gaze to his daughter. "Do you love him?"

"I..." Qianyao hesitated for a brief moment, looking away. "I think I do, dad..." She replied, her cheeks slightly reddened and her voice trembling.

"Hm..." Tianjin scratched his chin, closing his eyes for a brief moment.

No one there could guess what was going on in his ancient mind.

"Everyone, except Long Qingyi, leave."

"Patriarch, I..." The elder tried to raise his voice.

"Now." Tianjin interrupted him, rising from the golden throne, his voice cold and calm.

In the blink of an eye, the throne room was empty. Not even Tianjin’s personal guards remained.

Qianyao was the last to leave, casting an uncertain glance in Qingyi’s direction before the door closed behind her.

Tianjin walked toward Qingyi with slow steps, stopping right in front of the young man.

They were almost the same height.

"I could crush you like an insect," Tianjin declared, releasing a fraction of his aura onto Qingyi.

"You can try," Qingyi retorted. His body was stiff, but he showed no fear.

Tianjin paused for a moment. His mouth opened, but no words came out, only a loud, booming laugh.

"Hahaha! Very good, young man, very good. Tai’Ren did not lie to me about you." Tianjin grabbed Qingyi’s shoulders firmly.

All the hostility in his voice was completely gone, replaced by pure amusement.

"But, to be here with such a face and such courage, I don’t think you came just to ask for my permission to have Qianyao as your wife."

Tianjin waved his hands. A bottle of liquor appeared in his possession, while a porcelain table sprouted from the floor.

He sat down, pouring the liquid for himself and Qingyi, signaling for the handsome young man to sit down as well.

"Qianyao told me that you asked her to approach me. You said that I was your passage to the Celestial Heavens." Qingyi spoke honestly.

Tianjin took a sip of liquor before looking away, not responding immediately.

It was a long story, but he would tell it.

"Many years ago, in the Celestial Heaven, there was a man whose name many did not even dare to mention, both out of respect and fear.

That man believed he was above everyone else. He believed that no one dared, or even had the strength, to hurt him.

Until one day, he saw his one and only eternal love give birth to a child. A child cursed to death by a plague, a child who killed her own mother at birth.

The man fell into despair. He fought, begged the heavens, spent fortunes to freeze the child in time, and dedicated his life to nothing but researching a cure for her.

Until one day, he realized: the cure did not exist in the Celestial heavens. Not anymore."

"So he descended to the Immortal Heaven..." Qingyi murmured, lifting his face. "But how was this man able to descend without being destroyed by the heavens?"

"He didn’t." Tianjin shook his head.

"He carefully destroyed the child’s lineage, limiting her talent just enough so that the immortal heavens would not attack her. Then, he sent her here and along with her, he sent a projection, a fragment of his soul."

Tiajin paused briefly, taking another sip of liquor.

"This fragment continued to research, continued to study for tens of thousands of years, until he finally managed to cure her...

Unfortunately, when that happened, his time was already running out and the energy imbued within him was about to be depleted." Tianjin raised a hand, ceasing the flow of Qi through it.

In the next moment, the hand shattered in front of Qingyi, turning into nothing but golden dust.

With a gentle movement, Tianjin recovered his hand.

"I’m afraid, Qingyi... I am five hundred thousand years old, I have seen the rise and fall of countless civilizations, but in all this time, I have only had one Qianyao.

I don’t want to lose my Qianyao. Not again. I don’t want her to be trapped here for the rest of eternity, and I don’t know if I have the strength to break through the heavens and come for her..." Tianjin confessed.

There were no tears in his eyes, nor was there any obvious sadness on his face. Still, in the depths of his gaze, Qingyi could see the pain.

"And what did you see in me?" Qingyi asked.

"The energy of an Ancient God," Tianjin replied. "One older than me. Much older. Whose name is probably greater than mine could ever hope to achieve.

You, heir to this power, are someone destined for the celestial heavens, with an artifact capable of taking anyone with you."

"And do you know which god this is?"

Hearing the question, Tianjin laughed. "This world is old. If we were to count only the Black Dragons, I can think of a few hundred possible names, with thousands more whose existence I have never studied."

"I see..." Qingyi murmured.

He was glad that Tianjin didn’t know he was the Dragon God of Corruption, and apparently didn’t even consider that possibility.

Besides, he understood exactly what Tianjin wanted.

He was a desperate father. A father who would soon be forced to separate from his own daughter, the greatest and only treasure of his life.

Tianjin didn’t believe that Qianyao was capable of breaking through the Immortal Heavens on her own, and the moment he saw Qingyi, he saw a chance, however small, to have his daughter by his side in the sky above all skies, her rightful place.

Of course, Tianjin’s plan was not to make the two become lovers. With his daughter’s personality, he thought that would never be possible; he just wanted them to be friends.

If anything happened, Tianjin could just ask his old friend, Tai’Ren, for a favor. Qingyi didn’t seem like the type of person who would deny such a request from his respected father-in-law.

But since they had fallen in love, that would no longer be necessary.

Qingyi slowly stood up, looking at Tianjin with a respectful gaze before finally clasping his fists together.

"Long Qingyi greets his father-in-law!" he declared.

His voice echoed through the throne room, Tianjin’s face temporarily taken over by a strange expression. In the end, he could only smile slightly.

"My daughter has truly been blessed with a good man, son-in-law," he said, standing up and grabbing Qingyi’s shoulders.

"If she wishes to be by your side, very well. But I promise you: if any harm comes to my treasure, these heavens will not be able to protect you from my wrath."

Qingyi smiled at Tianjin’s response.

Yes, that was the response a man worthy of being his father-in-law should give him.
