Chapter 445: 445 - Celestia, close your eyes.

A few thousand kilometers from the imperial capital, there was a small village surrounded by dense forest.

That village was located on the border between the east and west of the empire, in a place called the Kingdom of Tempest Valley.

This kingdom was led by a grumpy but fair wizard, loyal only to the emperor and, of course, to his magical research.

Overall, it was a peaceful place, although it was quite agitated on that particular day.

"I beg your pardon, sir... but our royal suite has already been rented by a young couple... I don’t believe they are willing to exchange."

A trembling voice echoed through one of the few inns that had accommodations for the nobility in that village.

"And who is this couple? I demand to know! My father paid for half the construction of this damn inn!" Another voice echoed, young and angry.

It belonged to a black-haired man with no physical power, a pathetic mortal even in front of that humble attendant, who was only in the second ring.

Still, his presence there made everyone shudder.

Not because of his ugly face, and even less because of his fat, protruding belly.

It was the man beside him; a bald, tanned bastard with dark eyes and a face covered in horrible scars.

Just standing there was more than enough for his terrifying aura to crush everyone in the reception area, the huge sword on his back glinting softly.

Even the most cruel-looking men, who had lived a life of crime, kept their voices low and their heads even lower as they ate.

"Please, young master... your own father was the one who set our code of conduct towards customers. We can’t just hand over customer information like that!" The attendant spoke again, to no avail.

"I am a nobleman, and this is my land! My word is the only law or code of conduct you will follow!"

’Noble my ass... you’re basically a thug with daddy’s money!’ The attendant almost teared up.

Obviously, he didn’t have the courage to say that out loud, and could only sigh in defeat.

How could such a noble man have such a despicable son? He was lucky that damn brat was far from the main line of succession.

The attendant’s lips opened to say something, but before anything came out, his eyes focused on a young couple who had just arrived.

The man was tall and intimidating, his face completely covered.

The woman, on the other hand, was short and sweet-looking, only her full, rosy lips visible under the cloak that covered her entire body.

The woman’s voice echoed; low, almost a whisper, but still loud enough for everyone there to hear.

It was sweet and soft, full of the purest love and affection; the kind of voice a man could only dream of hearing her moan with.

The young nobleman immediately stepped in front of them.

"These are the ones who took the royal suite, right?" The young nobleman asked, a big smile spreading across his face as he turned to his henchman, who just shook his head.

He couldn’t sense any power coming from either of those two.

The attendant just nodded silently, wanting to be as far away from there as possible.

"You there." The young man pointed at the tall man, Long Qingyi.

"I am the owner of this village and everything within a hundred kilometers around it. You took something that was mine, and I want it back now. Give me the key to the royal suite, and I will even show you kindness by refunding part of the value you paid."

Qingyi heard those words and remained silent for a brief moment.

"Hm? These lands belong to the emperor... how can you own them? Even if your family rules this land, everything belongs to the emperor in the end." Celestia spoke, looking confused by the young nobleman’s words.

The man behind the nobleman just flashed a gentle smile on his rough-featured face and took a step forward.

"A beauty like you shouldn’t hide your face like that, you know? Men like us deserve to have a little fun too."

He raised his rough and powerful hand, his nearly two-meter-tall body towering even above Qingyi.

Celestia cringed, and just before that hand touched her face, Qingyi acted.

A loud slap echoed and the warrior’s hand was thrown back.

"Do that again..." Qingyi muttered, his voice almost a growl with rage. "And I promise, I’ll rip your arms from your shoulders."

"You..." The warrior gritted his teeth, a powerful murderous intent penetrating his bones, every piece of him screaming in agony.

What the hell was going on?

He looked into the eyes of that young man, the only thing visible under the cloak that covered his body.

They were purple, beautiful and piercing, covered with a murderous intent capable of making even the most hardened bandit crumble.

But that warrior was no ordinary bandit.

His fear quickly turned to anger as he roared, "Who the hell do you think you are to tell me what I can and cannot do?"

He was a powerful ninth-ring expert, undefeated in this region. He would not back down in front of some pretty face.

The warrior lunged forward, trying to grab Celestia, but he was barely able to get halfway there.

His vision darkened, a horrible pain took over his jaw, and he fell backward.

He tried to scream, but immediately found himself choking on his own blood, his mouth reduced to nothing more than a collection of bones and flesh mangled by Qingyi’s fist.

"I warned you..." For a brief moment, the warrior could see Qingyi’s face.

It was beautiful, wearing a gentle, soft smile.

He stepped on the warrior’s chest and grabbed his arms.

"Celestia, close your eyes." Qingyi asked, and the moment the golden-haired beauty nodded, he pulled.
