Chapter 495 - Die in silence... pig...
Chapter 495: 495 - Die in silence... pig...
That was the greatest shame of the patriarch’s life, and he washed it away thoroughly, killing every last one of those who laughed at him, gouging out their eyes and beheading them.
Even so, the terror never left his bones.
Fortunately for him, it only took a single moment to realize.
That Khaedryss was not the same as she had been back then. Her current power was, at most, equivalent to RedDeath.
"Is that all you’ve got, brat? You dominate this shadow of what Khaedryss once was and think you have the power to face me?"
The patriarch shouted, rising to the skies. His mana coursed through his body with more power than ever as he flashed a bloody smile.
His domain grew for kilometers, engulfing the entire enormous chamber. The whites of his eyes turned black as night while his horns grew.
He discarded his saber, covered in small cracks, before retrieving another weapon from his space ring.
It was a saber, like his previous one, but much larger. The blade stretched for almost two meters, his body growing and his muscles swelling just enough for him to wield the weapon comfortably.
In the distance, the thunderous roars and infernal heat of the fight between Khaedryss and the Red Death could be heard.
Half the chamber was being engulfed by flames, the melted stone turning into nothing but burning magma that washed over the wounds spreading across the beast’s scales.
Both the patriarch and Qingyi glanced once at the beasts’ fight before advancing toward each other.
Their blades met only once before they retreated, their bodies turning into blurred blurs, a sea of crimson mana and lightning engulfing everything around them.
Neither of them held back, their swords meeting hundreds of times in the short space between them in a single moment.
Everything around them disintegrated, the first defensive arrays beginning to fail as the battle spread.
A single attack struck a piece of the stone walls that was not perfectly defended by the arrays, sinking into the rock for nearly ten kilometers, creating a crater large enough to fit a city.
The two were ready to advance against each other again when they were forced to separate.
Between them, a sea of flames broke out—no, it was more like an extremely dense black plasma laser.
Its heat was second only to Qingyi’s primordial chaos flames, tearing through the stone as if it were paper, destroying much of the defensive arrays.
When Qingyi turned his face, he saw Red Death’s sharp fangs sunk into Khaedryss’s neck as her flames engulfed everything.
Her front claws clamped onto RedDeath’s chest, tearing at his scales, burning blood spilling onto the ground.
With a beastly roar, she sent him flying before biting down hard, nearly tearing off one of his legs.
The two beasts paused for a moment, staring at each other and roaring, preparing the fire in the depths of their throats.
Both wanted to end it right there.
Qingyi sighed at the sight.
Dozens of wounds covered his body. Half of his ribs were torn, one of his lungs collapsed, and his heart was torn by the shards of one of his broken bones.
He was only alive right now because of the almost infinite vitality of a cultivator of his level.
"This fight has gone on long enough..."
Qingyi prepared the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword. Sword, lightning, and flames engulfed the beautiful, sharp blade, the temperature around it rapidly rising, forcing the patriarch himself to take a step back.
What the hell were those damn flames surrounding that sword?
A single glance at them was enough to know: if he were hit by that, he would not end well.
Still, he did not retreat, also preparing his strongest attack, pushing all his mana toward his sword.
"Tremble before my greatness, wretched brat!" The patriarch roared, advancing.
At the same time, Qingyi took a single step forward, using the Heaven-Shattering Divine Slash.
Wherever his blade passed in its horizontal cut, a trail remained. Flames and lightning, but not only that.
Space itself was tearing apart, the primordial laws being cut so perfectly that they barely noticed they were being divided, leaving a perfect, darkened, crescent shape behind.
The patriarch’s blade met Qingyi’s with frightening power, but it was to no avail.
In the end, it was barely able to resist for a brief moment before the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword cut straight through it, flowing toward the abdomen of its bearer.
The scream that escaped his lips made even Qingyi shiver, guts falling to the ground alongside the upper part of a tall and powerful body, blood spreading in untraceable streams.
"Ugh... damn it! No... this can’t be happening..."
The patriarch struggled desperately, his eyes filling with even more terror as he saw two figures appear beside Qingyi.
"I told you not to hurt yourself too much, silly hubby. . ." One of the figures spoke, her sweet voice full of concern as she placed a kiss on Qingyi’s lips .
"I’m fine, dear." Qingyi laughed, returning Elize’s kiss. "In fact, I’ve never been better."
His eyes fell on his dying opponent, the two beauties approaching him.
"Oh... my dear little daughters... hahahaha..." The patriarch crawled across the floor. "Are you here for your daddy? Don’t worry, I approve of your marriage to this man-no, not only that, I declare him my heir and will even tell you where I threw your mother’s remains, I promise-"
The patriarch did not have time to finish his promise as Elize took the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword from Qingyi’s hands and thrust it into her father’s chest.
Seraphine didn’t stand idly by either, grabbing her own sword and, with a smooth movement, decapitating him.
"Die in silence... pig..." The two spoke in unison, their eyes filled with rage.
In the distance, Khaedryss also ended her battle, using her sharp claws to pin RedDeath to the ground as her sharp teeth sank into his chest, reaching his heart and devouring it in one bloody bite.
She didn’t care about the rest of the body, not yet.
She had more important things to eat for now.
Her eyes focused on the end of that huge chamber, and she dragged her injured body forward.
It was time for her to devour Karlan’s heart, to return to her original power- no.
It was time for her to reach a level of power she had never before imagined.
Whatever changes that would cause to her body, she would accept them.
