Chapter 617 - Perfect mission
Chapter 617: 617 - Perfect mission
Long Qingyi left the cultivation room shortly after advancing to the second stage of the Astral Blood Realm, having spent a total of two celestial spirit crystals over fourteen days of cultivation.
Cultivation rooms were truly expensive for outer disciples who did not undertake missions, and even for those who did, but did not risk their lives on difficult missions.
Fortunately, Qingyi had over three hundred celestial spirit crystals, more than enough to spend years in secluded cultivation if he wished.
Although it had been, for the most part, a waste, since he’d spent almost all that time having sex with his wives, he didn’t regret it in the slightest.
With quick steps, he walked through the countless marble avenues and paths that crisscrossed the sect, arriving at the mission pavilion without delay.
There, he took a few minutes to drool over the ships landing and taking off before entering the main building.
He still didn’t have the money to buy his own, but at least he could rent some humble ship to carry out his first solo mission.
"Need help with something, junior brother?" An elegant woman with sharp eyes approached as he scanned the available missions.
She was an outer disciple as well, but she was at the peak of the Astral Blood Realm and, having little interest in cultivation, had decided to become a staff member of the mission pavilion.
"No, senior sister. I’m just looking for a solo mission suitable for my level." Qingyi replied calmly, keeping his eyes on the mission board.
A lie, of course. He wasn’t looking for a mission suitable for his level; he was looking for a mission to test himself.
"Oh... you’re Long Qingyi, right? Your name has spread through the sect pretty quickly." The woman tilted her head with a curious smile.
"I have a friend who’s a disciple of an instructor, and she says Elder Shen can’t stop bragging about having recruited you, especially after the... uh... drama in the main palace. Hahaha."
"Drama?" Qingyi turned his face slightly.
He didn’t know of any drama in the main palace. Did this have anything to do with him?
"Well... never mind! I think I have a perfect mission for you." The woman walked back to the counter, pulling a small scroll from inside a drawer.
"It’s a mission that’s been here for over two hundred years, intended for outer disciples. Even Tianhao couldn’t complete it, despite his high-level perception and Qi manipulation."
Qingyi took the scroll, reading it carefully.
It wasn’t exactly the kind of mission he was looking for, but he understood well why that woman thought it was perfect for him.
It depended, above all, on perception. It was necessary to invade and conquer an isolated secret realm that had never been breached, with the Astral Blood Realm as the maximum cultivation limit.
With Qingyi at the Astral Blood Realm and having conquered the secret Moonlight Realm in five minutes, the shortest time in the sect’s history, he seemed to be the most suitable person for the task.
"Just retrieve the elixir inside the secret realm. Any other fortune found inside is entirely yours!"
"I see, but..." Qingyi frowned, scratching his chin. "Why is the reward so great?"
Over a thousand celestial spirit crystals for a solo mission where a low-cultivation disciple was required. It seemed too good to be true.
"Well... I don’t know, since the mission was posted long before I was even born." The woman shrugged. "But apparently, as the decades passed, whoever posted it grew impatient and kept raising the reward amount higher and higher.
The last increase was five years ago, a year before I joined the sect. At the time, it doubled from five hundred celestial spirit crystals to a thousand."
"Hm... that elixir must be very important to that person," Qingyi murmured thoughtfully.
The woman didn’t answer.
She didn’t know that client and, therefore, didn’t know much about his situation, nor was it the mission hall’s responsibility to ask questions of well-paying clients.
As long as there were no clearly malicious intentions, the sect would accept any mission.
Qingyi was actually looking for something more combat-oriented, but after reflecting for a few moments, he nodded and accepted the mission.
The pay was too good to ignore.
Upon receiving his confirmation, the woman broke into a bright smile, already imagining the commission she would receive if the mission were completed.
"Perfect!" She clapped her hands. "All the information about the mission, including the location of the secret realm, is on this scroll, along with a token that grants you entry to the private estate of the family that controls it."
Qingyi finished unrolling the scroll. Indeed, everything she had mentioned was there: a map with an address, a golden token, and some minor details.
Putting everything away, he signed the mission papers and left.
His next destination was a place he’d wanted to visit for some time: the sect’s ship rental service.
Although it was, technically, a private institution, it still received large subsidies from the sect to ensure prices remained affordable for disciples.
Those with enough contribution points could even take ships for free, though they were responsible for any damage caused to them.
Upon arriving at the main hall of the chamber of commerce responsible for rentals, he was immediately greeted by a chubby, friendly-looking attendant.
"Greetings, fellow disciple! Do you need a ship?" the man asked, clasping his hands.
"Yes." Qingyi nodded. "I need to go on a mission. It won’t take more than a week."
Since trips for missions received generous discounts, he didn’t hesitate to show the scroll from the pavilion.
"Oh... perfect!" The chubby attendant smiled after glancing quickly at the mission.
It was a mission to the second habitable planet in their solar system, quite close by, so they wouldn’t need a long-distance ship.
Since Qingyi was alone, he didn’t need anything big either.
After a brief review, the attendant found a suitable ship.
Small, about four meters from the cockpit to its two engines, with enough space for just three people and no bathrooms, sleeping quarters, or cargo hold.
As soon as he paid and entered the ship, sitting alone in the pilot’s seat, Qingyi realized a problem: he had no clue how to fly it.
Fortunately, his salvation arrived a few seconds later, in the form of a pair of plump ass cheeks and generous curves plopping down on his lap.
His Ruxue was always there to save him!
