Chapter 645 - We cannot fail at this
Chapter 645: 645 - We cannot fail at this
Tianhao’s heart sank as he watched Qingyi slowly approach.
He had already reached the Celestial Ascension realm. And judging by the power he exuded, it was a tremendous powerful breakthrough.
When Tianhao first met Qingyi, that young black dragon was only in the Astral Body realm. Yet now, mere months later, he had reached the same realm as him.
Wasn’t that a frighteningly fast rate of growth?
Even though there were still eight smaller realms separating them, Tianhao felt his heart sink.
Beside the sect leader, Rou’er let out an excited little squeal and, without a second thought, she darted past Tianhao and rushed toward Qingyi.
She even dispelled the mist that shrouded her appearance, revealing her true face and drawing passionate sighs from the many men there who had never seen her before.
So beautiful. So adorable. Like a gift from the heavens, meant to be protected at all costs.
Qingyi opened his arms, and Rou’er threw herself into his embrace. A faint smile touched his lips as he held her.
Her small frame fit snugly against his and the sweet scent she carried filled his lungs, her curves molding to the firmness of his body as she clung to him.
It felt good to be near her again. To breathe in that familiar sweetness and feel the gentle weight of her body against his.
He looked up, meeting Tianhao’s gaze.
The young master of the Guo family had always wanted to see Rou’er’s face. But she rarely revealed it, always refusing his requests, so all he could do was brood in frustration.
Today was supposed to be a happy day. The day he could finally appreciate the beauty of his beloved.
But he wasn’t happy.
How could he be?
When he was finally able to behold her beauty, Rou’er was not in his arms, but in the arms of another man.
In the arms of a demon he was certain was manipulating her into hating him.
Ignoring Tianhao, who was lost in his own delusions, Qingyi walked up to the sect leader.
"Outer disciple Long Qingyi greets the sect leader!" He clenched his fists and bowed, drawing a gentle smile from the old leader.
"Rise, young man! Congratulations on your advancement, hahaha! I am proud to have, in my sect, yet another genius like you. A genius who will lead the new generation into an era of endless glory!"
The leader’s voice resonated with a vitality that shocked many present.
He had said something similar when Tianhao was first introduced, but never with such enthusiasm.
Tianhao clenched his teeth, his eyes trembling with envy and rage.
In the end, what else could he do?
After a brief ceremony, Rou’er boarded the transport ship alongside Qingyi. The engines roared and the vessel lifted off, slicing through the sky.
Soon, they joined a large fleet escorted by dozens of experts. The ships accelerated in unison, and the journey began.
Their destination was the Cosmic Void Sect, one of the most powerful and respected in that region.
Many other sects would be making this same journey. Upon arrival, it would be time to finally begin the process of awakening their young lady’s bloodline.
Well, almost. She would first need to pass through the first phase, then return to the sect and wait months or even years before participating in the second, when the secret realm would be ready.

As the Cosmic Dawn Sect’s fleet cut through the cosmos, a vast distance away lay the Cosmic Void Sect.
Focused on soul cultivation, the sect was quite unique in nature. Its disciples were often physically weak, but with a single thought, they could breach an enemy’s mental defenses and kill them instantly.
The sect leader, a man with black hair and bright red eyes, was one of the most powerful figures in the region.
A cultivator at the peak of the Stellar Sovereign realm.
Seated on his throne, his eyes opened only when a man with firm features and a stern gaze appeared before him.
"Have you received news from the Cosmic Dawn Sect?" The leader leaned forward slightly.
His aura was almost nonexistent, despite being at the peak of the Stellar Sovereign realm.
Yet the man before him, who exuded an aura dozens of times more powerful, dared not lift his head in his presence.
A single thought, and the leader could kill thousands like him.
"Yes, my lord. The Cosmic Dawn Sect sent Rou’er here, but... there is something strange. It is not their young prodigy, Tianhao, who is representing them, but rather a young black dragon. Long Qingyi."
"Huh?" The Cosmic Void Sect leader’s expression changed.
Many of the great sects in that region sent their young disciples to the secret realm every few decades. For disciples without combat power, it was common to send them with representatives. Sometimes powerful, sometimes weak.
But a person like Rou’er, represented by some random disciple instead of the generation’s greatest talent? Was the leader of the Cosmic Dawn Sect out of his mind?
"Even if she fails the selection and doesn’t participate in the first phase, she must participate in the second. At any cost, do you understand?
Kill everyone and make it look like we gave her the spot because of this, if necessary. We cannot fail at this!"
"Yes, Sect Leader!" The kneeling man bowed his head one last time and withdrew, leaving the leader of the Cosmic Void Sect alone.
"Ah... how troublesome..." He whispered to himself, picking up a glass beside the throne and raising it to his lips.
The liquor burned gently as it slid down his throat, but did little to calm his thoughts.
He still remembered the day he heard that voice. Like a thunderclap descending from a higher plane.
A female voice calling the newly adopted daughter of the Cosmic Dawn Sect’s leader his granddaughter. The daughter of a child who, hundreds of thousands of years ago, had fled with an unholy black dragon to the Celestial Heaven.
In other words, the offspring of something above the Celestial Heaven.
But nothing should exist above the Celestial Heaven, all the experts in that region recognized the celestial realm as the highest plane..
That was the thought that shook him the most.
He didn’t know what rewards he would receive for this service. But he knew that voice did not belong to a being of the Celestial Heaven.
He had seen a celestial emperor from afar once. They were terrifying, but they barely seemed to possess a fraction of a fraction of the power carried by that voice.
Whatever that girl’s origin, whatever her family’s true power, he knew one thing.
They were terrifying.
