Chapter 667: 667 - A worthy battle! (01)

Bai Hu Lie and Qingyi stared each other down, completely ignoring the tension of the spectators.

"I’ve been looking forward to this fight for quite some time, little dragon." The tiger laughed as he circled Qingyi, cold eyes brimming with fighting intent. "Are you really going to face me in that form? I’d be quite disappointed, hahaha!"

"No." Qingyi shook his head with a faint smile and activated his draconic form.

His horns grew. Small black scales crawled across his skin, layering over muscle and bone like living armor.

A massive pair of wings unfolded behind him, casting a broad shadow over the cracked earth.

His claws lengthened, each one sharp enough to split stone, far more powerful than before.

Divine tigers stood only a step below black dragons in raw strength, and that step was small. But that wasn’t the real issue.

Bai Hu Lie had extremely pure beast blood. Over ninety-five percent, without a doubt.

Qingyi had been refining his own blood purity with every improvement to his bloodline, but the process was far from complete. His current purity sat at only eighty percent.

Even though draconic blood was naturally superior to that of a divine tiger, the gap in purity put him in a tricky position.

This would be a bitter fight.

He drew the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword and handed it to Rou’er.

If anything went wrong, Khaedryss was already prepared to leave the mind world and shield the two of them, even at the cost of revealing herself.

The two fighters locked gazes for another brief moment. The air between them grew cold, heavy with battle intent.

That chill didn’t last long.

A thunderous roar split the silence. The ground beneath their feet exploded into dust, and both figures vanished.

No Qi. No tricks. No weapons. No artifacts.

Pure physical strength alone propelled their bodies past the speed of sound.

They met in midair. Tiger’s fist against dragon’s fist.

The collision tore through the air.

A split second of dead silence followed before an even more violent explosion erupted outward, dust billowing in every direction as shockwaves flattened everything in their path.

Longwei, Rou’er, and Xue Hua scrambled further back, unable to believe the level of destruction unfolding before them, all without a single drop of Qi.

In the celestial heavens, where the primordial laws held far greater power, even cultivators at their level would struggle to cause this devastation, even with Qi.

What on earth was this terrifying raw strength?

The dust slowly settled, revealing two figures with their fists locked together above a freshly carved crater.

Neither had taken a single step back.

"Ah... yes... this is the strength of a dragon!" Bai Hu Lie roared with delight, his free hand shooting forward to seize Qingyi’s arm.

Before the young dragon could react, the tiger wrenched forward. Qingyi’s arm snapped in two with a sharp, wet crack, freeing Bai Hu Lie’s right fist.

It came forward like a battering ram.

Qingyi didn’t just stand there and take it. His boots shot upward at a terrifying speed.

Two impacts rang out in quick succession.

The tiger was hurled backward, his jaw shattered. His neck whipped to the side with enough force to snap, and the metallic tang of blood flooded his mouth as the world spun around him.

Qingyi flew back as well, his feet carving deep trenches through the earth. Pain bloomed across his face like liquid fire, burning behind his eyes and through his crushed nose.

He grabbed his broken arm and wrenched it back into place with one sharp movement.

Bone ground against bone. His terrifying regeneration went to work immediately, mending both the arm and the shattered nose. The bones realigned beneath his skin with a series of audible cracks.

He couldn’t deny being impressed by the ease with which that tiger had snapped his arm.

But it didn’t scare him. Far from it.

His body burned with even greater fighting intent than before, blood steaming beneath the black scales.

This was the first time his draconic constitution had failed him, and he was eager to find its true limits.

"Ah..." Bai Hu Lie cracked his jaw back into place, his regeneration only a step behind the dragon’s.

He stood perfectly still. His eyes glowed blood-red, no different from those of a beast driven purely by instinct.

Every white hair on his body bristled. His claws extended and his teeth lengthened into razor-sharp fangs. Dense vapor poured from his mouth with every breath, and a low growl echoed.

The two locked eyes for a single heartbeat, then charged.

Their fists met again, but neither stopped. They pushed forward alongside their strikes, closing the distance to nothing.

Qingyi ducked low, tucking his head behind his left fist while his right hammered into the tiger’s exposed ribs. Each blow sent a brutal shockwave tearing through internal organs, the muffled crunch of flesh and bone echoing with every impact.

Blood surged up the tiger’s throat.

He roared through it and drove his claws into the black scales shielding Qingyi’s torso. The tips bit into the armor and ripped the scales free one by one.

Bai Hu Lie seized the dragon’s head and pulled.

His intent was simple: tear Qingyi’s head clean off his shoulders. When it became clear that wasn’t going to happen, he drove his fist downward with everything he had.

Qingyi slammed into the earth. The ground caved beneath him, a crater spreading outward from the point of impact.

But not before he returned the favor, shattering the tiger’s arm in three places.

The tiger gave him no time to recover. A devastating kick launched Qingyi toward the phoenix’s lair at full force.

His body broke the sound barrier. The air screamed as he tore through it, a deafening whistle trailing behind him.

Inside the lair, sleeping beneath a massive, luxurious blue staircase, was a phoenix of transcendent beauty. Its radiant body stretched over twenty-five meters, glorious and untouched.

That glory did not last.

The mansion’s doors exploded inward with a deafening crash, and Qingyi’s body struck the phoenix’s back like a cannonball.

The phoenix screamed. Bones shattered under the impact, and the sound that left its beak was pure, raw agony.

"Shit..." Qingyi clenched his teeth, the phoenix’s icy feathers pressing against his back as he looked up and saw the tiger already soaring toward him, arm fully regenerated, a devastating fist cocked and ready.

Qingyi rolled aside.

Bai Hu Lie’s fist cratered into the phoenix’s back instead.

The creature let out another pitiful scream as its body was driven through over fifty meters of solid concrete, sinking into the earth like a nail hammered flat.

Its suffering, unfortunately, did not end there.

The moment the tiger turned, Qingyi was already on top of him, raining down punches without mercy.

An explosion echoed through the ruined mansion. This time, it was Bai Hu Lie’s turn to be slammed into the phoenix’s back at full force.

The wretched creature’s body smashed through wall after wall, piercing the palace from one side to the other.

Its dying form radiated nothing but pure indignation.

What had she done to offend these powerful experts?

Poor her...
