The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System

Chapter 724 - Meeting (01)

Chapter 724: 724 - Meeting (01)

No one paid much attention to the firm embrace in which Qingyi held Rouxi and Rou’er, the soft curves of their bodies pressed snugly against his sides.

After all, one of them was his adoptive mother, and the other, his future wife.

Even if a few lingering glances drifted toward that scene, the gathered cultivators were far more focused on the leader of the Myriad Beasts Sect and, of course, on the matter of the demonic spies’ Qi explosion.

Only the two representatives from the central region, arms crossed and eyes brimming with arrogance, clicked their tongues in contempt, envy, and a touch of poorly hidden jealousy.

Even by the standards of the central region, those two were beauties capable of drawing covetous glances from even the greatest of experts.

And Bai Yunxi, standing beside Qingyi, was no less stunning.

The thought of seizing them by force had certainly crossed their minds, but they were far from idiots.

The Celestial Orthodox Martial Alliance shielded the outer regions from the reach of the central ones, and the five masters guarding this gathering all belonged to its ranks.

In other words, even if they possessed the strength to wipe out this insignificant little sect and drag those women off, it would amount to nothing in the end.

None of those masters would obey orders that ran contrary to the Alliance’s laws, much less one of its most sacred rules.

Letting out stifled sighs, the two could only redirect their attention to the discussion about the demonic Qi explosions.

The matter held the Martial Alliance’s interest as well, and so they took an active part in the investigation.

"Sect Leader, we have already contacted all the major sects across the northern region, and indeed, this demonic Qi explosion was widespread.

There were no deaths, but in total, over one thousand three hundred and seventy-two demons were captured. This was, without a doubt, a blessing in disguise."

The hoarse voice of an elder rolled through the throne room, reverberating off the towering walls and silencing the faint murmurs that drifted from the sides of the hall.

"Hm..." Bai Hu Tian, leader of the Myriad Beasts Sect, scratched his chin, his eyes narrowing in thought.

"And the origin of that temporary demonic Qi frenzy? Have the prisoners said anything yet?" the leader of the Golden Fist Sect asked, Fa Yun, a bald monk Qingyi knew well, standing at his side.

The only thing that struck everyone present as odd was the absence of the leader of the Cosmic Void Sect, who had sent the Grand Elder in his place.

The Grand Elder now stood beside his daughter, Xue Hua.

The moment her eyes fell on Qingyi, Xue Hua had to fight hard against the urge to slip across the hall and stand beside him, her teeth catching her lower lip in a small, discreet bite.

"Well... we know a little, but they seem just as confused as we are." The elder scratched his chin awkwardly, his long beard swaying with the motion.

"Some of the infiltrated elders mentioned something about the awakening of a Primordial Demon Empress. Does the sect leader know anything about this?"

The leader of the Golden Fist Sect fell silent, turning his gaze toward Bai Hu Tian, who let out a heavy sigh.

"I’ve heard the Ancestor speak of something like that. If that is truly the case, everything would be explained."

He rose from his seat, descending the steps that led down from his throne with his son walking at his side, each footfall echoing through the heavy silence of the hall.

"The problem is that, if this is true, we must do everything possible to prevent the rebirth of such a demon. The question is: how do we detect something this massive? What if she has already been reborn?

The very fact that we aren’t sensing anything, and that only the demons have been affected, shows that she is hidden extremely well."

At those words, everyone nodded in silence, their faces hardening with grim resolve.

The resurrection could even be unfolding on an inhabited planet, in plain view of its entire population, and still it would be nearly impossible to locate her, so long as the process wasn’t actively leaking aura into the cosmos.

With millions of planets in the northern region alone, it was like searching for a needle in a haystack.

The gathered leaders pondered the issue for a long while, but in the end, they could only reach a single conclusion: they had little choice but to begin a desperate search from absolute zero.

"Ah... I will assign the Shadow Beasts Division to this matter. I ask that all of you, my friends, leaders of your own sects, do the same.

We must find this demonic creature and slay it while it is still in its early stages, for the sake of peace and prosperity in the north."

Bai Hu Tian spoke, his firm voice resonating through the hall.

Hearing him, Qingyi let out a quiet sigh.

Bai Hu Tian was very different from his son.

There was a clear savagery in him, but overall, he was a man who knew how to wield his words.

It was only natural; he was already hundreds of thousands of years old.

Bai Hu Lie would likely catch up to him one day, depending on his growth.

In response to that call, everyone saluted the leader of the Myriad Beasts Sect with respect.

Soon after, all except the leaders of the seven most powerful sects—including the Cosmic Dawn Sect—were granted permission to withdraw.

Bai Yunxi was already leaving alongside Qingyi, Rouxi, and Rou’er when her father’s firm voice rang out behind her.

"Yunxi, I want you to accompany your brother to the ancestor and report what is happening here. You can mention your marriage as well, if you like." Bai Hu Tian said with a low chuckle.

Yunxi’s cheeks flushed red, her shoulders slumping in a resigned sigh.

She wanted to spend more time with her future husband! Her brother could handle this on his own!

In the end, sensing the firmness in her father’s voice, she didn’t argue.

He seemed quite tired, and she didn’t want to upset him with childish tantrums.

Something as momentous as the possible awakening of a primordial demon was not something that could be ignored, not even by the central region.

Soon, Bai Yunxi left the hall alongside her brother, while the leaders of the powerful sects remaining inside settled into a long discussion about what to do next.

Qingyi, naturally, had little interest in any of it, heading straight back to his room.

He wasn’t pleased that he couldn’t stay longer with Bai Yunxi, but he doubted she would take too long to return.
