The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System

Chapter 877 - Naughty Daddy! You’re not allowed to leave!

Chapter 877: 877 - Naughty Daddy! You’re not allowed to leave!

Lingxi’s large, round eyes—whose beauty rivaled that of a purple nebula and even outshone her father’s—slowly narrowed.

Nestled in Rouxi’s lap, the baby turned her tiny body, fixing her gaze on her father across the hall as he held Ruxue in a tight embrace.

"Aba... dada!" She stretched out a chubby little hand toward him, then looked up at Rouxi with a worried expression spreading across her round little face.

"It’s all right, sweetheart. Daddy’s just going away for a little while, only a few days... He’ll be back in no time," Rouxi murmured softly, running her fingers through her daughter’s black hair streaked with green.

Far from soothing her, the words only made Lingxi narrow her little eyes further. She began babbling nonstop, her tiny hands gesturing vigorously toward her father.

Hearing the little one’s indignant protests, Qingyi couldn’t help but smile tenderly.

Ruxue also let out a soft chuckle, charmed by the baby’s adorable babbling.

Lingxi seemed to be delivering a passionate, emotional speech, even though she still couldn’t form actual words. She limited herself to a sequence of cute, disjointed sounds.

"Are you sure you don’t want to take the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword with you?" Ruxue asked, her deep eyes fixed on Qingyi.

"No." Qingyi shook his head slowly. "Qianyao is going to start training with her father now, and since she’ll be spending a lot of time outside the World of the Mind, she can keep the sword with her at all times."

It wasn’t a lack of confidence.

Quite the contrary—Qingyi was absolutely confident in himself.

Out of a thousand attempts to break through the Celestial Orthodox Martial Alliance’s protective arrays, he had failed only three times. And all three of those failures had occurred solely due to accumulated fatigue after so many consecutive attempts.

According to Akane’s own words, those arrays were considerably superior to those of the Black Palace. And the Black Palace, in all likelihood, hadn’t improved its own by such a wide margin.

Taking all of this into account, and already having a good idea of his target’s exact location, Qingyi was almost absolutely certain of his success.

His chances of failure were minuscule... Yet they still existed.

And the mere fact that they existed—however small they might be—already made them unacceptable in his eyes.

It didn’t matter if they were one in a million, one in a billion, or even one in a trillion.

He preferred to go alone.

After all, if he took the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword with him, there would still be a chance—however insignificant—that something would go wrong and the artifact would end up falling into the hands of the Heavenly Demon.

And he would never allow such a possibility to even exist.

"Don’t worry. I’ll be back soon," Qingyi murmured, leaning down over Ruxue and pressing his lips gently against hers.

After a short, tender kiss, he slowly pulled away, his gaze falling on Lingxi.

She wasn’t happy. Not one bit.

Seeing her father approach, the little girl crossed her chubby arms over her chest and let out an indignant little squeal in his direction.

Qingyi released an amused sigh at the sight, crouching down until his face was level with his daughter’s.

"Daddy won’t be gone for long, my love," he said in a soft voice, gently running his strong fingers over her chubby cheek.

Lingxi made a sulky face and, in a sudden movement, opened her little mouth and tried to bite his finger.

It was as if she were declaring, ’Naughty Daddy! You’re not allowed to leave!’

Tears were already welling up in the corners of her round little eyes.

Qingyi smiled, feeling a slight tightness in his chest, and leaned in to plant a tender kiss on her little forehead.

"Daddy’s going to bring you lots of amazing toys, and two new mommies too, okay? Be patient and be a good girl for Daddy."

Qingyi hated, with all the strength of his heart, seeing Lingxi cry.

It always made him feel awful inside. But at the end of the day, that’s just how kids are.

As the baby stretched her chubby little hands into the air, her eyes brimming with tears, desperately trying to stop him from leaving, Qingyi finally stepped out of the World of the Mind.

His heart was heavy, but that was all right.

He had many amazing wives, and Khaedryss in particular would probably take Lingxi for a little flight on the back of her draconic form.

That alone would be more than enough to distract her for quite a while.

"Ah... I wonder if she’ll be able to talk by the time I come back..." Qingyi murmured, shaking his head.

Of course, the operation itself wouldn’t take that long—a few weeks, or at most a few months.

But Lingxi wasn’t an ordinary child.

Given the level of intelligence the little one was showing, he wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if she were already able to form her first sentences before turning eight or nine months old.

By the age of three, she would likely have developed speech on par with a seven-year-old. And by twelve, her intelligence would already surpass that of most adults, including even other dragons.

Qingyi let his gaze sweep over his surroundings.

He was in one of the high-level cultivation chambers within Tianjin’s palace.

It had been publicly announced that he would seclude himself for the entire year, dedicated to advancing to the Stellar Sovereign Realm.

Naturally, all of that was nothing more than a lie.

With calm, unhurried movements, Qingyi retrieved an item from his spatial ring.

It was a black mask, forged by Tianjin himself with the help of two of the greatest array masters in all of the Celestial Heaven.

The moment Qingyi adjusted the mask over his face, his entire body was completely transformed.

His hair, once long and silky, shrank until it became short, curly, and rough to the touch.

His skin took on a slightly darker hue, and even his clothes were altered, giving way to rough rags like those worn by the poorest peasants.

Leaving behind the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword, he reached out and tore through the space in front of him.
