The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System

Chapter 962 - The Fury of a Black Dragon (03)

Chapter 962 - The Fury of a Black Dragon (03)

The Central Demonic Fortress measured fifty kilometers by fifty kilometers. A true concrete colossus.

Its walls rose a hundred meters high and stood twenty meters thick, built in five layers, one behind the other.

Each layer alone could easily withstand a full-force blow, even from a Cosmic Emperor.

Yet, despite its immense size, the forty million demons living within those walls felt small before the colossus soaring above them.

Qingyi saw them as small, too.

Flying high above everything and everyone, he watched the little ants scurrying below, crowding the narrow streets and pointing up at the sky.

His shadow swallowed the entire fortress, dimming the daylight over fifty kilometers of streets. And it was at that very moment that he noticed it.

From the heart of the fortress, a flash of light burst upward, rising fast. Clearly a blade attack from a powerful cultivator.

The Qi blade shot into the sky in a crescent shape—silvery and powerful—tearing through the air with a sharp whistle toward Qingyi's gigantic draconic body.

The attack struck his right wing. It bit into the scales with a dry crack, like stone shattering.

The damage amounted to a single crack. A fine scratch on a scale larger than a house.

Qingyi barely felt it.

Down below, Xiu Fang felt his blood run cold as he drew his sword back. His fingers clenched the hilt so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

That had been one of his most powerful strikes. And he had barely managed to scratch Qingyi.

The gigantic dragon's head slowly lowered as it hovered in the air. The wind from that motion alone flattened the banners on the palace rooftops.

Those enormous eyes fixed on the tiny speck that had dared to scratch it.

Its jaw—large enough to swallow the entire palace where Xiu Fang stood in a single bite—slowly opened.

Teeth the size of buildings, sharp as razors, came into view. Deep within that throat, a purple glow began to grow, and the air around it trembled with heat before the fire even appeared.

A low rumble rolled out of the dragon's chest, deep enough to rattle every tile on the palace roof.

Then a sea of purple flames came down.

Xiu Fang leaped into the air, activating his full demonic form. The palace cracked under the force of his launch, tiles and beams raining into the streets.

His body swelled to hundreds of meters in the blink of an eye, demonic Qi exploding around him like a black storm. His blade grew along with him, keeping pace with every meter.

He slashed upward with everything he had.

That strike carried enough power to split entire moons, its destructive force held in check only by the powerful primordial laws surrounding the planet.

Of course, even with the damage to the rest of the planet contained, the power itself was not diminished in the least.

The purple flames crashed down on Xiu Fang, colliding with his attack.

For a moment, the two forces locked in midair.

The entire sky seemed to groan. The heat made the air ripple for kilometers, and the surrounding clouds dissolved like smoke.

Down in the streets, demons threw up their arms against the glare, the skin on their faces blistering from the glow alone.

Then a crack, like shattering glass, echoed across the fortress.

Xiu Fang's eyes widened.

His Qi blade burst into fragments, and the flames swallowed them whole, along with his entire body.

He barely managed a pitiful scream before he died. That gigantic form turned to ash in midair, leaving not even a scent behind.

Qingyi's flames then rained down on the fortress below, swallowing the central palace and spreading in every direction like a tidal wave.

For kilometers, the fire devoured everything.

The air turned into an oven. Stone glowed red. Steel ran like water. Screams rose for an instant, then fell silent, drowned out by the roar of the fire.

More than five hundred thousand died in that single breath. Buildings and the sparse vegetation within the fortress were reduced to ash and scorched concrete, and the bodies vanished completely in the heat, leaving not even bones behind.

Only the strongest Star Sovereigns managed to survive, shielding themselves with their own Qi, the barriers around them crackling and flickering against the fire. Even through those barriers, the heat bled in, and sweat ran down their faces.

Their eyes, too, were full of shock and terror.

How the hell could that happen? How the hell could that bastard be so strong?

The power of the draconic race was well known.

Long Wujin, the Dragon God of Corruption, had fought alone against hundreds of Celestial Emperors, and had only fallen when Long Tianjin, another dragon, intervened.

They could sense Qingyi's cultivation level. It was the same as theirs. Yet the gap between them felt like an entire world.

The dragon's mighty body came down on the ruined center of the fortress.

The ground caved in beneath its claws. Concrete shattered, and a cloud of dust and ash billowed up around it.

Its roar rolled across the fortress, bursting eardrums and driving many to their knees, blood streaming from their ears. Across the outer districts, windows exploded into glittering dust.

Naturally, the demonic cultivators did not stand around waiting for death.

Millions of attacks, of every element and every power level, surged forth at once. Spears of ice, black lightning, blades of wind, spheres of fire.

All of it slammed into Qingyi's scales. Endless explosions wrapped his body in black smoke, the noise so loud that the ground itself seemed to scream. The stink of ozone and scorched stone filled the air.

Qingyi closed his eyes for a moment. Then, guided by his Qi, he pushed forward through the smoke.

Every step of his mighty body brought entire buildings crashing down. Cracks raced through the streets like spiderwebs beneath his claws.

His wings alone spanned more than ten kilometers. A single flap made the entire fortress tremble, toppling towers and sweeping cultivators through the air like dry leaves.

About fifty minutes after the war began, the death toll on the demonic side had reached seven million.

Of course, Qingyi wanted more than that.

The demonic energy of those pigs was filthy, corrupted. He could smell its stench even through the smoke and ash.

Each of them had cultivated through death, human sacrifices, rape, and torture. Innocent women, innocent men, and children who could barely walk.

How many had suffered for them to reach that level?

That was the false Demonic Path. Every one of those cultivators, with their putrid energy, had built their cultivation on nefarious means.

Their energy wouldn't be so putrid if they had built it any other way. Only the most repulsive acts of cruelty could produce foundations like those.

Qingyi showed no mercy to any of them.

He would exterminate them so that Akane could, once again, show the uncorrupted what the true Demonic Path was.

This time, Qingyi aimed not at the fortress, but at the ground beneath him.

It was time to burn it all down.

His jaws opened once more. Fire poured out, crashing into the ground and spreading into a sea of endless destruction.

[I had planned to make this war much longer, but honestly, Qingyi already sees all those demonic geniuses as nothing more than ants, and well, it's hard to convince him that they're worth the time he could be spending on watching Lingxi's growth.]
