Chapter 474: Horrible Food in the Abyss

The electrical discharges divert, and I close in, throwing a punch at her face, but her visage dissolves into electricity as a blow strikes my chest. The electricity expands and bursts, creating a gash on my torso that would have split me in two had I been weaker.

The monster girl takes advantage of this, striking from above and smashing the lightning girl against the ground as I leap backward.

'...' I glance at the wound, but it's not too bad, actually. The clothing made by the Yandere Pandora completely covered the cut and stanched the wound, forcing it to reconnect and regenerate faster.

"Very useful..." I murmur in satisfaction as the lightning girl rematerializes a short distance ahead, firing several giant spheres of lightning. I run laterally, using the trees for cover as I try to get closer.

'Even if it looks simple, the destructive power of this is terrifying.' Each of these spheres has power comparable to [Hellgate], my high-level magic which, at level one hundred thousand, would already be capable of devastating continents and blowing giant holes in the planet.

And this lightning girl uses attacks of that magnitude as if they were common magic. Even if I could use magic, most of it would be useless because it doesn't measure up to the magic of the abyssal beings.

'What's her level?' I wonder, getting close enough to land a kick in her gut. The impacted area dissolves into lightning, but with my tail, I manage to pierce her back, and she bleeds.

'It seems she only dissolves into lightning if she sees the attack coming.' The monster girl seizes the opportunity to launch herself at her, spinning her entire body like a torpedo. I jump, leaping onto a tree, as the monster girl tears off one of the lightning girl's arms.

"..." I land on the ground and slip into the shadows, feeling satisfied that I'm at least capable of this. I move, using all the surrounding darkness to stay hidden while the monster girl tries to crush her.

The two exchange blows as I circle around them, looking for openings, but the monster girl alone quickly loses the advantage, being much slower.

She takes hit after hit as the lightning girl gains the upper hand, accelerating her attacks. However, her stupid distraction allows me to partially emerge from the shadow beneath her and bite her leg.

She looks down, but before she can do anything, I bite down hard, tearing it off and sinking back into the shadows. Her distraction causes her to be hit by a punch to the face that tears off half her head.

Her body staggers as lightning surges in the missing part, as if trying to rebuild it, but with only one leg left, she loses all balance, and the monster girl begins to pummel her.

Some parts dissolve into lightning, others are struck. She tries to use some ability, but I, from beneath the shadows, reach out from behind her and pierce her heart.

"..." She looks at the wound as the monster girl begins to tear pieces off her, shredding her while she's still alive. The lightning diminishes in quantity, dissolving as her breathing slowly stops.

When she finally ceases all activity, the monster girl delivers a palm strike, completely crushing her body and creating a puddle of flesh and blood on the ground.

With no time for distractions, I emerge from the ground, attempting to decapitate the monster girl with a swift strike, but she blocks as our minutes-old alliance dissolves. She spins backward, delivering a kick that I catch, being pushed back slightly.

My tail wraps around her leg as I pull, throwing her off balance. Taking advantage of my smaller, sleeker, and faster body, I maneuver onto her back, sinking my teeth into her clavicle, embedding them deep and biting down.

A large chunk is torn away when I pull back, immediately causing her arm to go limp, losing most of its movement. She uses her other arm to grab me on her back and pull me off.

She squeezes her hand, trying to crush me, while I pierce her palm with my tail. My tail opens and curves like a hook, and I pull, trying to tear her hand off, but she's too resilient and uses this to start spinning.

My tail, now trapped, serves as a perfect handle for her to swing me, slamming my body against the trees. The sound of shattering wood mixes with the cracking of my bones as my vision spins.

I move my hand, cutting off a large part of my tail, which sends me hurling to the right, face-first into a tree. I quickly scramble up with a jump, dodging a shoulder charge from her as the tree comes crashing down.

"You didn't even wait one second after that bitch died to try and kill me," she snarls, looking at me with hatred in her eyes.

"It's the law of the jungle. Don't blame me for being slow. The one who strikes first has the advantage," I say, snarling back at her as my tail slowly begins to regrow.

"..." She picks up the piece of my tail from her arm and puts it in her mouth, swallowing it. Immediately, the wound on her clavicle is restored, covered by a smooth, black membrane that is clearly abnormal for her body, showing she rebuilt the lost part with my tail.

'You miserable whore...' I enter the shadows, circling around her like a shark would circle its prey. I notice she isn't capable of detecting me when I'm inside the darkness like this.

'...' I approach from below while she stays alert, but no amount of alertness would protect her from this. I open the darkness beneath her leg and do something quite unusual even for me—I pull her leg down, making her sink slightly into it.

"..." She looks confusedly at the ground. I'm also using this for the first time in a fight. I knew I could put things into the darkness, since I even use it to teleport others with me, but I never tried to trap parts of enemies inside it.

"Ugly bitch! Let me go!" She tries to pull her leg, but the darkness holds it firmly in place. Even so, she's so strong she almost pulls me out.

'So that's how Mikael pulled me out of the darkness in our first fight...' I always wondered how Mikael had managed to extract me from the shadows.

It seems if someone is shoved in here and tries to get out, their strength pulls everything inside out. Mikael, in our first fight, was overwhelmingly stronger than me, so he basically "shoved" his hand into the darkness and pulled everything out, forcing my body to exit.

"..." I start twisting her leg, and she lets out a pained groan. Soon, the limb is completely torn off by me as she leaps away.

I only stick my head out so she can see me as I look around. I really wanted to devour that lightning whore, but her body turned into that strange mush that would force me to lick the ground if I wanted to eat it.

"It seems you're all brute force and nothing more, aren't you?" I dive into the ground, circling around her, but smarter this time, she jumps with her one leg up into a tree.

'...' I burst out of the shadows, grabbing her leg before she can climb higher. She looks at me in surprise and tries to strike with her hand, but I spin her in the air, leaving her upside down as a spike of darkness forms below.

She, looking at me with hatred, doesn't notice the spike, since darkness isn't magic and doesn't use mana like other abilities. I use my tail to propel us downward.

And because she's upside down, her head is impaled on the spike as my weight and force drive her down. But since she's an abyssal being, maybe this won't kill her.

So, when her head reaches the end of the darkness spike, I make her entire head go inside it, and the darkness closes, decapitating her. Her body convulses for a moment before stopping completely, her arm hanging limply down.

"If I didn't prefer raw meat, I could fry you. You're already on a skewer, Hahahahahaha!" I feel happy with my first victory in the abyss. It was... difficult. Truly difficult.

It wasn't an extreme fight, but it was indeed a risky battle for me, one where I could have died, and I know that well. I had to improvise many things in this fight because I couldn't use magic normally.

'Well, in an emergency, I could just use my Mana to generate pure Mana and use the Essence of Creation to create, like, a giant meteor and then use that to escape...' I make the darkness recede, releasing her body onto the ground.

"I can't wait any longer!" I turn her onto her back and bite her chest, tearing off a huge chunk as I start to chew, but pure disappointment immediately hits me. The taste is somewhat bitter, and the meat is rubbery and tough, very fibrous and having almost zero fat, even though the breast should be one of the fattiest parts.

"...What a horrible taste... it's so bitter." I truly hated the flavor. It's a food that ranks among the top 10 worst foods I've ever eaten.

I chew, tasting the blood. It's obviously toxic and even somewhat poisonous, plus it's so bitter it makes my body shiver with disgust. Furthermore, the breast, which should be the area with the most fat and nutrients, is strangely dry, making me question the purpose of having such large breasts.

"What the hell do you need these giant tits for if they have so little fat!" I am truly, horribly disappointed with my first meal in the abyss. At least it's nutritious enough.

I tear off her arm and put it in my mouth, chewing and swallowing quickly. Since she made this arm after devouring the tree, it tastes bad and isn't nutritious, so I spit it out.

"...T-There must be something good in here..." I shove my hand into her stomach, tearing out her organs and putting them in my mouth as I chew, but they are even worse, much more bitter than her breast. It's like chewing rubber soaked in poison.

"...Ah... abyssal beings... I guess I can't expect good taste from you all... you must have evolved to taste bad and be poisonous to deter other predators." I continue devouring her out of necessity. The flavor is truly repugnant.

But I'm starving, and I need a lot of food to keep my body functioning well here inside the abyss, so I have no choice.

And after completely devouring her body, eating even the bones and parts I would normally discard, I look at the ground where that mashed meat pulp lies.

"...I guess I've fallen from luxury to squalor... all the pampering of a castle that gives me whatever I want to eat is over..." I kneel near that thing and start licking the ground, drinking and eating the crushed meat and blood.

"Urgh! Horrible... it's even worse than the other one's..." I lick the ground, uncomfortable with how I'm having to humiliate myself just to obtain nutrients for my body.

"..." I spend a few minutes eating this paste of meat, bones, and blood until it's completely gone. My tongue is black with filth. I don't know if you can call the ground of the abyss 'earth,' but even the "dirt" of this place tastes awful.

"..." I stare at my own chest, a flavor I know will be delicious—my own milk. Who would have thought a liquid from my body would become the thing I drink the most to cope with the taste?

But at least milk is nutritious, full of fats and nutrients that will help supplement the meal, since both girls had little to no fat in their bodies.

I make the clothing open in the chest area while I grab it and move my head into a somewhat awkward position just to put the nipple in my mouth and start sucking.

'Hmmm... much better... why do the girls here have such horrible meat... damn it, they're only tasty in appearance...' I will still have to eat a lot of crap to survive here. It's lamentable for me, but necessary.

"Time to go... but first... check status." I look at my status to see if I managed to steal any traits from the two, but there's nothing.

"All that work... just to eat something that wasn't even tasty... the abyss is truly life's hard mode..." I fought so hard just to get a meal that doesn't even satisfy me properly.

Galaxy's Notice!!!

Hello, readers! This notice here is actually quite interesting! I was thinking a lot about whether or not I should post this notice! And I ended up opting for this one! It's not a spoiler, but it will explain some of the "strange" behaviors that will happen in the abyss.

First! We will have Pandora returning to her most animalistic and primitive state! Like the Pandora from the beginning of the story who would dismember and devour bodies with very clear descriptions!

Second, in the abyss, Pandora is at the bottom of the food chain! As everyone knows, Pandora has a special preference for the breast meat of girls! The reason for this is based on real predators.

They tend to eat first the body parts of their prey with the most fat. The reason the girls in the abyss have so little fat is because the abyss is an environment where Predators hunt other predators.

So the bodies have little accumulated fat and nutrients because that just makes you a tasty target; if a predator sees another who is full of fat, it's like seeing a banquet in the abyss!

This makes the flesh of abyssal beings disgusting, bitter, poisonous, and toxic, with rubbery and fibrous aspects.

What do I mean with this information? Simple! Pandora is literally the most delicious meal in the abyss—tasty meat full of fat and nutrients! Not to mention the fact she produces milk!

And why am I telling you this? Because this puts a huge target on Pandora's back, making her a luxury meal for the great predators of the abyss. This will cause abyssal beings to literally fight and kill each other for Pandora.

And this is important to know for one reason: we normally always see Pandora on top. Pandora was the apex predator who always won and maintained her arrogance! And this isn't exactly going to change because it's part of her character!

But it will be greatly overshadowed in the abyss! Where we will see Pandora losing fights, having to flee or hide from great predators! And even high possibilities of her being kidnapped and kept captive by beings that want to eat her!

As I said, Pandora in the abyss is at the bottom of the barrel! And until she becomes strong enough to defend herself, we will see a Pandora fighting madly to survive! This current fight was just a taste of the hell that is the abyss!

In the abyss, Pandora will need to fortify herself like never before! After all, until her level is in the billions, she will never be truly safe! So, if you see Pandora being humiliated,

Having to cowardly choose to run or hide, and even being captured, among other things, know that it's not me changing the course of the story! It's just Pandora having to go through hardships to evolve! And some of these hardships will be quite nasty...

I say this so that more "Impatient" readers don't think I'm nerfing or purposely dragging Pandora's entire journey through the mud! Everyone who has read the story up to here knows that Pandora naturally had many advantages when she was born.

She was the Demon King, had servants to do many things for her, had help from many, and only needed to focus on personal evolution and her power! However, in the abyss, she will have 0 support, will have no allies, and will have many enemies!

And it is in this situation that we will get to see Pandora become even more insanely interesting! Overcoming adversities and becoming stronger!

Well, I guess this notice ends here? I just wanted to warn readers who might find the change in the story's tone strange, since it's uncommon to see Pandora being humiliated by enemies!

In any case, think of it merely as... a wild animal returning to nature and having to adapt to what it was truly created to endure!
