The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 486: Infinite Possibilities

Chapter 486: Infinite Possibilities

"Hahahahaha, Pandora is such a lunatic." I laugh watching this future; it's so hilarious to watch Pandora in the Abyss.

"Mama Grimm, what does that mean!! Are you seeing Mama Pandora?!! Where? Can I see?" Azazel asks rapidly as we eat together at dinner, one of the things we always do alone to have our time together.

"Ah, Azazel, there's no way I can show her. It's 'that thing,' remember?" When I say this, she gets disappointed. There's no way I can show the future I see to others; besides, there are millions to billions of futures with differences. You can't even try to talk about each one.

"That's boring... I wanted to see Mama Pandora!! She left and will take a long time to come back." She says, drinking a glass of blood while falling silent. I return my attention to the future.

'249 years have already passed in the Abyss... Pandora spent 248 years and 9 months serving as an egg incubator and a milk cow... what patience.' She didn't give up; I see that. Pandora just waited with a patience worthy of an ambush predator.

She reduced all her activities. She doesn't complain, doesn't show hate or anything. She just accepts everything while waiting for a meager opportunity. Such patience is even strange, considering that Pandora is absurdly impulsive normally. But still, it's fun.

'Pandora, you won't suffer only with this spider girl...' Pandora is experiencing what the Abyss truly is. It's not a place full of hate, rage, or revenge.

In fact, the Abyss at its core is just a place where savagery and instinct reign. Monsters there live the same way animals live in forests: they hunt, reproduce, and survive.

They are clever, but they use such intelligence only to survive and hunt. And this extends to the entire Abyss. You can't hate everyone for doing something against you.

It's a dangerous place where you can only survive through the act of being opportunistic whenever possible. Pandora being patient is already halfway to surviving in such a place.

In the Abyss, there's no such thing as rape, murder, or torture. If you were captured by a monster and it uses you to have children, from the monsters' perspective, it's not rape. It's just reproduction using another being.

Totally normal in nature. Trying to use words and rules in that place is useless, and Pandora understood that quickly, which is good for survival since it allows her to see the panorama of how things work.

'That poor, weak little monster girl...' I see her future. Millions, billions, trillions, and with some effort, even quadrillions of futures. This spider girl isn't even close to being the being that will use Pandora the most for reproduction.

But it all depends. In some futures, she falls into tentacle monster pits. In another, she enters a nest of a monster that looked like a harpy to look for food, and she ends up getting caught and is also used to warm eggs, and so on.

It all depends on Pandora herself and her choices. And, of course, 70% of the monsters tried to kill her. The only monsters that don't try to kill Pandora are the ones that want her for reproduction because she produces milk, something rare in the Abyss.

'You were very lucky, Pandora...' The spider girl was a "safe" fate. If she hadn't been kidnapped by her and kept as an incubator, Pandora would have found one of Echidna's servants who was wandering in that area 120 years ago from that place's time perspective, and that servant would have killed her.

He was level 780 million, and Pandora had zero chance of escape or victory. It was guaranteed death, and she was saved by the simple chance of having been kidnapped earlier.

"Mama Grimm, I'm going to go play with the younger little sisters." Azazel says, jumping from the chair and starting to run outside. I just nod my head, permitting it while returning my focus to Pandora.

"Hmmm, Pandora should be more careful." I murmur, seeing some of her futures. Being a monster incubator isn't even close to the worst future. She has many bad futures, mainly involving her flesh and regeneration.

If any monster notices that besides producing milk, her flesh regenerates more than her energy expenditure, such monsters will capture her to tear off her flesh as infinite stock without killing her.

Normally, regeneration has a higher energy cost than what you eat, so such a thing isn't viable. But for Pandora, the expenditure is minimal. It means if she is fed, you can cut her flesh without pauses while feeding her with other smaller monsters.

"I wonder which of these futures will come true..." Not everything is disadvantageous. Pandora letting her body be used as something to generate monsters has a usefulness that she must have already realized.

That usefulness is simply one of the best: food without needing to hunt and level increasing on its own without needing to put herself in danger.

The monsters are primitive, but they understand the value of what they have. If Pandora produces milk and is warm inside, egg-laying monsters will always want to have her nearby and take good care of her.

That means protecting her from any other monster at any cost and feeding her well, while the effort of having children from such beings passively increases her level. And the best of all... it awakens abilities involving that.

"I see... you noticed. Of course you'd notice... that's what you're waiting for..." An ability. Pandora isn't waiting for her level to grow to escape from the spider girl. If she were, she could have escaped 140 years ago.

She's waiting for an evolutionary ability. Her adaptation doesn't only take care of her body; it can also grant her new abilities.

"You miserable bitch." I say, not as an insult, while giving a huge smile. Pandora is a true opportunistic slut. She turned what was bad into something useful.

"Of course you'd notice. You're brilliant... it's no wonder you're my soulmate." I don't mind Pandora being used like that. It's fun to observe, even if it's not me doing it to her.

"I wonder what ability you'll awaken..." She has an infinite range of possibilities. It all depends on which timeline will come true.

"Well, Pandora, I hope you fall into a tentacle pit soon! You'd be surprised by how useful the abilities from that timeline are." I speak to nothing while finishing my glass of blood.

The abilities Pandora can awaken from being a tentacle egg incubator vary: from complete metamorphosis that can alter her entire body structure in ways she never even imagined she could do, to self-replication, being able to literally divide into thousands of bodies as she is cut, almost like a tentacle that when cut doesn't die or lose function; they just become two tentacles.

"Although the harpy is also interesting..." The abilities she can awaken if she becomes a harpy egg incubator are also incredible, less powerful than the tentacle ones but still useful.

"I think the strongest one in the long term is the one that gives... egg-laying through parthenogenesis." With this ability, Pandora could lay eggs without needing to be fertilized, just like a harpy does. In other words, she could have children alone just with her own body, being able to increase the number of her race without depending on sex with anyone.

Besides, the reason most monsters that don't kill Pandora are only the ones that lay eggs is because the eggs depend on protection and food that such beings don't have at the moment.

In short, normal monsters that don't lay eggs don't need to store food. These prefer to kill and eat Pandora, who is nutritious, instead of keeping her. Meanwhile, monsters that lay eggs need warmth and food for the babies that will be born. These, if they notice Pandora produces milk, will try to capture her alive.

'It all depends on which monster Pandora will find...' I'm really anxious for her future. I wonder how many useful abilities Pandora will awaken in the Abyss, if she will die or not, and how many times she'll be captured and used until she's too strong for anyone to force.

'...I truly hope that thing doesn't find Pandora...' There is only ONE single being I fear will find Pandora before Pandora is strong: a servant of Echidna that also lays eggs. If this being finds Pandora... she'll have problems, real, many problems.

The stronger the monster, the harder it is for Pandora to escape from it. And if such a being finds her... Pandora will, at a minimum, spend a few million years before being able to escape from such a being, and I'm sure not even she has the patience to wait millions of years.

'Well, she probably won't fall into that... only in 1 out of every 789 quadrillion futures does such a scenario happen. How unlucky would she have to be to get exactly that future?' I highly doubt that future will happen.

"Now, in the end, all that's left for me is to wait and see Pandora playing the game of nature... let's see how this little wild beast adapts when thrown into an environment where everyone is like her." I smile sadistically.

Pandora has a very chaotic future ahead and will discover very interesting things that mortals would never know—information she can only get with the goddesses or in the Abyss itself.

"Primordial Goddess... I wonder if Pandora will reach the future where she can discover more about you... I sincerely hope that doesn't happen and she doesn't discover anything..." I don't know if I want that. I don't know if I want Pandora to know anything about such a magnificent being who is as foolish as he is powerful with his stupidly large kindness.
