The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 489: Barred from the Abyss

Chapter 489: Barred from the Abyss

"Hey, you, let me pass... I'm Azraelith Aegis Oblivion, and I want in there." I say to the girl standing in front of me. I know her well; she's one of my mother's servants, and she's level 2 billion.

Since I've recovered to my level of 25 billion, I can fight her now. But I don't want to fight, not against this girl, because her level is really deceptive. Even at level 2 billion, she could easily face me at level 50 billion if given enough time.

Her name is Tsukiyo. She's a girl who stands 2 meters tall, with large breasts, a slender, wiry build that doesn't show off all the strength she possesses, and golden eyes—though right now her eyes are closed.

Long white hair, large black horns, scales covering her arms and legs up to her thighs, and a serpentine, scaly tail. She's a loyal servant of the Goddess of the Abyss, which is to say, my mother.

Normally, she's a person of few words and a swordswoman who uses a katana. She is, without a doubt, extremely powerful.

"..." She stared at me in silence, but I know she's not here to welcome me. If she were, she wouldn't be holding that katana in her hands.

"Lady Echidna does not wish to see you. You disappointed her. Therefore, I was sent here to prevent you from reaching her. Because you are now too weak to even tread the same ground she does." She speaks in a low tone, but it carries that superior air, as if she's better than me.

'My current level is 25 billion... If I were at my full, maximum level, defeating her would be easy... But with 25 billion, this fight won't be so easy if I take too long to win.' Even though her level is 2 billion, this bitch has some passives so strong they put her on par with beings of much higher levels.

"So, it seems I'll have to force my way past you." She remains quiet and in place. It's clear she won't let me pass, so I'll just go right over her.

"!!!" With a movement as if she were part of the environment itself, she appears behind me and tries to decapitate me. I catch the blade with my tail and spin around, jumping backward.

But I receive a swift slash that sends my arm flying. She jumps back, creating distance, while I see I've lost an arm so easily when the fight has barely begun.

'Her katana seems even stronger than the last time I saw it...' This girl's weapon is a living weapon, a part of her own body. So it's a weapon that grows stronger as she does.

"Was it my mother who said I shouldn't see her? Or did you deduce that on your own?" I ask while she ignores me. But based on the lack of response, it's her own choice and not my mother's. If it were my mother's decision, I'd leave—she would just have to tell the truth.

"I bet it's one of those whores who think they're my mother's friends. One of them sent you here to stop me, didn't they?" Their disrespect toward my mother irritates me. They aren't my mother's friends, yet they speak to her without respect, as if they were great friends.

'...' She charges again, but I kick backward, hitting the side of her sword and sending her flying back. I jump forward, closing the distance and starting to throw punches that she defends.

"Yighhot Chaos Magic." I use Chaos Magic in the language of the goddesses. Numerous black blades appear from inside her body and pierce outward, opening several holes in her body. She loses focus and is hit by my punch in the face.

I tilt it downward, slamming her to the ground and embedding her face in the Abyss floor. I try to attack again, but she vanishes and tries to strike me from behind while my tail defends.

"..." She suddenly appears in front of me, making a deep cut in my throat and attempting a thrust to pierce my heart. I grab the blade of her sword as the wound closes.

She releases one hand from the sword, and an identical katana materializes. She moves it, trying to pierce my head. I barely dodge and slam my tail into her stomach, pushing her back.

We stare at each other in silence, the silence of the Abyss allowing us to hear each other's hearts beating slowly...

"..." Noticing that handling me isn't so easy for her, she creates distance. Unlike other times I've come to the Abyss, now I'm much more adjusted to this place, and my body has almost no openings to be used against me.

She takes a stance and waits to deliver a swift counterattack if I approach within a 50-meter area, but I can see the area because of her aura.

'What a large range area for a katana that isn't even that big...' The last time I was here, this stance had a range of only 25 meters. She's doubled it.

'I wonder how much time has passed in the Abyss during these years I was sealed... And I wonder how long Pandora has been in the Abyss, that is if she's even entered here yet...' I don't know. Time in the Abyss is too complex to say.

I myself arrived in the Abyss only a year ago, so it's really hard to deduce precisely.

"I think that's enough of these preliminaries, isn't it?" I cover my hand with my Mana and charge at her. She's caught off guard by my speed and tries to counter, which fails because it's slower. When my punch connects with her sword, she's thrown back a distance greater than thousands of scattered galaxies.

The air shatters, space cracks and splinters like glass, while reality gains huge fissures.

The Abyss floor splits open from the power of my punch, creating an immense crater. This is my martial art.

'Tsk, she survived a blow from my martial art?' This blow once tore off a goddess's arm. I know I'm weakened, but it's still a powerful strike.

"She's gotten stronger..." I can see her from here with magic. She's already coming back extremely fast and without many injuries. I take a fighting stance, stomping hard on the ground.

A large black flower blooms on the ground like an expanding pattern. I gather magic in my fist and throw a punch forward. The space ahead is completely erased, along with everything in front of it.

"Fist That Erases the Universe." I throw another punch, and the second one triggers the full effect of this technique. Everything ahead is consumed by the void, erasing anything that exists in a conical radius. Only the [Abyss] and the [Heaven] built by the Goddess of Humans can withstand me using this attack.

There's literally nothing left ahead; everything was erased. But the Abyss tends to reconstruct itself, so soon these things should return.

'Tsk, she's still alive?' I see her using void manipulation to keep coming toward me. This shows just how weakened I am. If I were at level 100 billion, that would have erased her from existence, and she would have had no way to defend.

[Abyssal Destructive Leap]

I use an ability and "leap" instantly, appearing in front of Tsukiyo. She tries to defend, but I throw a punch that goes through her from one side to the other, breaking her sword.

She spins what's left of the sword, tearing my other arm off and making a cut on my face. She kicks the literal void to maintain her position and hurls the remains of her sword at me.

I dodge and, using magic, make the arm still inside her explode. She finally opens her eyes, taking this fight more seriously to avoid dying.

The moment her eyes open, the environment seems to change, becoming more chaotic, and the void itself distorts as if retreating.

Just like me, who accumulates mana in my hair and the angelic halo above my head, this girl accumulates mana in her eyes and hair. If she opens her eyes, it's because she's going to use the mana she's stored in them.

"[Existence-Severing Cut]" She uses her first magic in this confrontation. I feel my body being split vertically in half, but it's not enough to kill me. My body forcibly reconnects.

'She didn't have this strike before... it's dangerous...' That cut was conceptual. Although I don't know what concept she tried to cut to wound me, she probably failed since I could reconnect.

She tries to do it again, but I don't give her time, punching her face with my martial art. The vibration turns all the bones in her body into crumbs and fragments as she loses her balance.

I start landing more and more punches on her. She's an opponent who needs time. Her swordsmanship technique grows stronger with every blow she lands on an opponent because of one of her passives, and her defense, speed, and magic increase the longer a fight lasts—another of her passives.

Until the fight ends, she doesn't stop getting stronger. And after the fight ends, she loses that extra strength. That's why she avoids using magic and prefers just sword strikes because of this passive.

"...Come on, didn't you say you were going to stop me?" I say arrogantly, punching her harder and harder. She's strong, no doubt, but I'm still at level 25 billion, and her passive hasn't accumulated much strength yet.

"You arrogant filth, I feel such HATE when anyone tries to stop me from doing what I want. To think you could hold me back is the height of stupidity." The more blows I land, the heavier and more powerful my punches become, destroying her mana armor and fragmenting her magic further and further.

She realizes the situation has turned bad for her. With a quick slash, she cuts my hand and starts to flee. I think about chasing her, but I give up. If every time she runs away to recover I chase her, her power only increases.

'It's better to let her go... If she increases her power just a few more times, I'll lose...' I look at my hands; they're trembling from the blows I delivered. Her resistance had also increased a lot.

"She withstood 3 blows from my martial art and my mana-charged punches in sequence... No wonder she's a monster of the Abyss." I decide to go back. My focus wasn't her, but one of the "gates"—a kind of hole in the Abyss that connects one point to another.

And the gate I want is around here. It will take me closer to my mother's city, not exactly into the city, but close enough to shorten my journey.

Teleportation doesn't work properly in the Abyss because of the spatial mess this place is, so the safest means are precisely the gates.
