Chapter 496: Moving Floating City
Chapter 496: Moving Floating City
I spent several days buried, my body too terrified to try and get out of the hole I’d crawled into, but I’m getting hungry, and no form of fear can overcome hunger, so my body finally started focusing on food.
Although still not focused on leaving the hole, I began trying to detect prey from inside the hole I had tucked myself into, but while doing that I noticed everything "went dark," so I stared up at the entrance of the hole and noticed something in the sky.
That’s when I finally reached this useful situation: a city is flying up here above, and this explains why I couldn’t find any flying cities before—it’s because they’re literally in motion and not just flying in one specific spot.
’I need to get up...’ I open large wings and begin flapping them to ascend as fast as possible. The system said that beings of higher intellect tend to stay in flying cities, and some are commanded by my mother’s servants.
So it’s the best place for me to get information, and the desire to know more about my mother and how to find her influences me to climb as fast as I can.
’It’s so...big’ I see how gigantic the place is, apart from the 8 structures below the island; they are legs. They somewhat resemble an elephant’s foot, but because of the size they look more like giant pillars.
But I can vaguely distinguish the shape of this thing, and it seems to be some kind of monster with an extremely flattened body, not to mention the immense amount of magic I sense.
Compared to this whole thing, my magic is like a single grain of sand. Literally, this thing is the monster among monsters. No wonder they build cities on top of them instead of trying to eat them.
’What level could this thing be? 1 billion?’ I wouldn’t doubt it. It’s far more power than any normal thing I’ve ever seen. The only beings I’ve seen stronger than this were the goddesses themselves.
My body is still afraid, but my fear will never paralyze me from my goals. Unfortunately, I still haven’t developed a method to protect my brain from being controlled by tentacle or parasitic monsters.
Technically, there’s an easy way, which would be to transform my brain into black slime—a partial release of my true form—but because of those bitches inside the sea of consciousness, I can’t.
I can’t even use the beginning of the partial form, and both the partial and complete forms are linked to Pandora Monster. In other words, something is happening with her in there, and it’s hindering me out here.
So I have to keep walking around naked, while occasionally milking myself to drink, since it’s one of the few truly nutritious and good-tasting things around here. But without clothes, it’s harder to hide my milk-filled breasts.
’I should improvise some clothes with a monster’s hide...’ Before I finish my thought, I notice the island has started rising very fast. It must have descended because the gravity in that pitted area pulled everything down.
"!!!!" I accelerate madly. I can’t lose this island; who knows when I’d find another? It was a huge stroke of luck to finally find this island after so much searching. If it disappears from near me, it would be terrible trying to find another.
’So fast!’ It climbs incredibly fast, and I almost fail to reach the underside. I cling to it as this "island" ascends even faster upward. I look down and see the ground starting to vanish, but this thing doesn’t stop climbing for several minutes, its speed increasing.
Until it finally stops all at once when it reaches a point so absurdly high that I would NEVER have found it by normal flying. I never imagined the flying islands would be this high up.
’Fuck, isn’t that farther than from one end of a solar system to another?!’ My brain managed to measure the distance through small indicators, and the distance covered in minutes of ascent was like going from one end of a solar system to the other.
Which means this thing has immense speed. We are so high that when I try to descend again, it will take quite a while—at least a few hours if I go at full speed.
"..." It’s now in full motion, focused on a straight line, but the movement is so smooth and calm it doesn’t seem fast, but it is. So instead of detaching from it and trying to fly up, I begin to climb, keeping myself stuck to the island.
’I hope there aren’t any tentacle monsters up there...urgh’ My body shudders just at the thought of encountering more tentacle monsters that might try to control my mind.
’If I could freely use my true form, this would never be a problem...it’s all the fault of those 3 incompetents who won’t let me access the sea of consciousness and aren’t doing their job either.’ I manage to climb quickly and then get on top of the island.
Up here, I see many houses, buildings slightly twisted, but at least they still have generally stable geometric shapes, which is more pleasant to look at.
This city is much more crowded than other cities. I see a great variety of monsters, and most have wings, which in a way makes sense since flying with wings costs less than flying with magic.
"..." Some look at me and soon ignore me as I move away from the city’s edge. I don’t want to fall accidentally. No matter how stable the whole city seems, if a jolt or sudden movement happens, I could be thrown far away.
"..." I approach a monster, this time seeking simpler information about the city rather than looking for things in the city.
"One moment, could you tell me what that large tree over there in the center of the city is?" I ask a headless man. Literally, he has a humanoid body, but his face is on his stomach, and he’s covered in feathers. He’s kinda ugly, honestly.
"...It’s the house of the city’s boss..." When he says that, I look at the immense tree. I wonder what kind of being lives in a tree.
"How can I speak with this boss?"
"...Don’t know, but I don’t recommend invading. She doesn’t like intruders." He stares at me fixedly before his gaze drops to my breasts. So I punch through his face, killing him instantly.
"Tsk, I don’t need anyone else knowing...about that." I need to find some way to hide the milk scent from my breasts. Living with the spider girl made it clear to me that my milk is an extremely valuable resource in this terrible place for finding food.
"..." I begin to eat his body in the middle of the city, and as expected, no one cares. Eating another monster like this is common.
"System, could you tell me how to talk to the city’s boss?"
"..." Nothing, as expected. The system doesn’t answer these kinds of random questions, so I decide to proceed more carefully. My reason for wanting to speak with the city boss is mainly because she might be a servant of my mother.
But I already understand well how the Abyss works. Being my mother’s servant doesn’t make them trustworthy or safe for me; it just makes them useful. So I’ll use them however I can to find out what I want.

...
"Sister Lycoris, do you understand?" I ask this scaly little girl who is so obedient, and I adore her obedience—it’s perfect for a perfect being like me.
"Uh-huh, uh-huh, Sister Aqua!! I’ll do it!" she says. Recently, she stopped just growling and making small sounds and actually started speaking. She was the sister who took the longest to learn to speak, but finally, she talks.
"Great, great, my sweet sister." I stroke under her chin while her tail wags happily. She became very attached to me because, since her mother doesn’t like her, she ended up needy, and I give her lots of praise and affection when she obeys.
"Do you have something to tell me?" I ask, knowing she’s very intuitive. Besides, she has very efficient senses and can quickly notice things others don’t.
"The academy is ready!! I heard Elena and the mommies talking, and we’re going to the academy in... a week?... I also heard that Azazel’s mommy can see the future, and-and she knows where Mommy Pandora is and what’s happening to her," she says proudly.
’Hmm? See the future?... So she knows what’s happening with Mommy Pandora...’ That’s something curious. It seems Azazel’s mommy is also quite capable.
"Great, keep listening to things for me. You know you’re very special to me and I trust you." I say, pulling her into a hug. She’s delighted, hugging me back with a happy sound.
I really like this little sister. She’s a bit silly and easily influenced, but she has great potential as my ally. And for the competition between me and Sister Eclipsya, the kind of ally Lycoris is ends up being simply perfect for me.
"T-Thank you, Sister Aqua." I push Lycoris to the ground and sit on top of her. One day, I’ll dominate her just like Mommy Delphina dominated Mommy Pandora, but I feel it’s not time yet. It will make more sense when we’re older.
So for now, I usually push Lycoris down and sit on her so that Lycoris learns to always be beneath me.
"Sister Aqua, I’m hungry..." she murmurs while squirming uncomfortably. Among all of us, she’s the one who was cared for the least, receiving food from her mother only occasionally.
"We can go to the kitchen to get a steak for you... but not yet. Hold on. You don’t want to make me angry, do you?"
"N-No!! Never!! I like you, Sister Aqua! I don’t want you angry!"
"That’s right. So be patient and stay lying there. When I’m satisfied, we can go eat together." At first, she never stayed still beneath me.
She even bit my tail and really hurt me, but now she calmly accepts me staying on top of her, showing that I’m clearly the one in charge between us two.
’She got bigger...’ She grew a bit since I arrived here. It seems she entered the toddler phase, so in at most a year or so, she’ll jump to the teenage phase.
’...Curious...’ While thinking about the future, I wonder what Mommy Pandora is doing. I’m sure she’s being dominated by someone!!! And that irritates me a bit! Only Mommy Delphina should dominate her! Maybe I’ll have to punish Mommy Pandora when I’m an adult.
