The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 652: Morynna X Azraelith Quick Fight

Chapter 652: Morynna X Azraelith Quick Fight

"...So it looks like it’ll be just the two of us for a while, Azraelith. This time, you won’t leave alive." Morynna speaks with an arrogant look, though her tail and wings shift with discomfort. I glance around, seeing that we’re in a part of the dimension that is an empty plain.

So I have no advantage, while she has all this space to attack with her extremely explosive attacks. Normally, Morynna wouldn’t be a threat — after all, we’ve fought before and she didn’t stand a chance.

But she wouldn’t be my opponent and so confident if she didn’t have some trick up her sleeve. Besides, that damn seal that trapped me in the past had that woman’s hand in it, along with Elysia’s.

"[Nova Burst]" We both use the same magic at the same time. An immense white beam of pure energy is fired and collides, exploding everything around us.

"[Gamma Ray Ytarya]" When I use this magic, she uses the exact same one, colliding with mine once more. The two black spheres cancel each other out, releasing an intense shockwave.

"So that’s your plan? Wear me down by using the exact same abilities I have, canceling them out to avoid my adaptation and exponential growth in strength, just to finish the fight with one powerful blow?" I speak with sarcasm, addressing what seems to be her plan.

"You guessed it. Simple, isn’t it? If I don’t hit you, you don’t adapt. Sometimes the simple approach is the most effective." Unfortunately, Morynna is easily the goddess with the highest magical learning capacity of them all, even higher than Mother’s.

That being the case, any magic I use — as long as she doesn’t have affinity issues with the element — she can "copy" or create an instant version of the ability.

’I know she’s not good with time or chaos magic...’ I point at her, firing beams of the Doom element. This catches her off guard, and she dodges instead of trying to replicate it, since she doesn’t know this element. However, when she dodges, I appear in front of her, punching her stomach.

I grab her tail and slam her against the ground, but before she hits it, she cuts off her own tail and lunges at me. I move to defend myself, but she feints and flies away.

"You—" Before I can curse her for her cowardice, an attack falls from the sky, hitting my head. I grow confused as I take severe damage. I leap back, but a blade strikes my back.

’I’m not feeling the adaptation? They’re all attacks from different sources...’ I look toward where the attacks came from, and for some reason, I’m not adapting to them, which is why I conclude they’re all attacks coming from different sources.

Then I spot a stationary magic circle. As soon as I enter its range, it fires a beam of flames that burns my arm.

I look at Morynna, who is fighting in an extremely passive manner, flying and circling at a distance — which is terrible for my fighting style, but also terrible for her fighting style, since it’s the same as mine.

My body regenerates as I aim at her and use Doom. The magic fired is so massive it completely covers the area, hitting everything in its path.

"Urgh." An intense attack is fired at me, covering my entire body. I open the system, watching the number of my Mana dropping. All these attacks are draining my Mana at an alarming rate.

"...YOU BITCH." I grow furious and start using "Reversal," which I learned from Pandora, causing a reversal of the phenomena tied to an attack. I fire a beam of flames at Morynna, who keeps her distance, but by reversing it, the flames turn black and everything begins to darken.

I take damage as well, which feeds my passive. Thanks to Pandora, I won’t have to rely on taking direct damage from the goddesses. With that, I begin firing various reversed spells at Morynna.

Many of them cause chaotic effects that injure me a little, and with that, my strength begins increasing absurdly. I leap, appearing in front of Morynna at once, catching her off guard.

My kick connects with her face, but when the impact occurs, my magic is drained at an absurd rate. I put distance between us, shocked, while Morynna gives a devilish smile.

"Hahahaha, who would’ve thought that damn Elysia was right!!! Without magic, you’re nothing!!" She speaks with absurd arrogance — so much arrogance that it clouds the fear she had in her eyes.

’Tsk... it’s probably an artifact... and if she’s using artifacts, it means all the goddesses must be using them too.’ My power grows again with the magic I fire at her, but she keeps herself passive, avoiding everything dangerous and barely managing to handle me. And she’s right — this is a weakness I thought no one had noticed.

The less Mana I have, the smaller the power boost I get. And even worse, the weaker I become, since I rely heavily on explosive power to be strong.

The fight ends up dragging on in this manner. I press forward against Morynna, and she remains passive, fleeing and using those spells that keep draining my magic or casting "copy" spells of my own to cancel out my attacks. Even so, the fight is, in summary, just that.

And this irritating game of "tag" stretches on for years, until it becomes extremely frustrating millennia. I can’t deal any dangerous damage because she’s fleeing and using her magic only defensively while draining mine.

However, as time passed, Morynna’s defense decayed. And even though I’m having more difficulty than I expected, Morynna spent almost as much magic as I did.

Since this dumb bitch also has a fighting style based on explosive power, fighting passively was a disadvantage for her too.

"It seems your plan didn’t work out so well," I say mockingly. My strength has already increased by 15,295%. It could have increased much more, but I lost so much Mana that the percentage kept dropping, and a large part of the boost remained only in physical capabilities.

"It might not have gone as I expected, but you’ve become extremely weakened, so don’t be so arrogant, Azraelith!!!" She speaks with arrogance, as if I were the arrogant one here.

"While I’ve barely taken any wounds. Considering that in the past you beat down multiple goddesses, now you don’t even come close to the feet of that monster from the past."

’Arrogant piece of shit.’ Of course I’m weaker. In the past, I had level 110 billion, which was 10 billion above the other goddesses. Stacking that with my exponential increase in strength, my power became MUCH greater than that of the other goddesses.

But now I’m only level 100 billion and "rusty" after being imprisoned for so long, taking damage of all kinds and having my mind deteriorated.

"..." Morynna, seeing that my Mana defense is already reduced, prepares an attack. But suddenly, she is struck from behind by a golden arrow. The arrow emits a soft sound before exploding and hurling her forward.

I seize the chance to grab her in an embrace, finally managing to truly capture her and keep her restrained.

"Looks like our fight is over." She looks at my face as my entire body glows red, and I use the Doom element, charging it with almost all the Mana I have to ensure the end of this fight.

"A-Are you insane?! You’ll blow yourself up and die with me?!"

"I won’t die, you foolish whore. You, on the other hand, will turn to ashes." She tries to punch me and attack me with magic, but her direct attack only increases my strength. I squeeze her in my embrace until I hear her bones cracking.

"Y-You crazy wretch!!"

"You’re the one who spent your magic running away. If you hadn’t kept fleeing, I wouldn’t have resorted to this." The red glow turns black as the magic finishes charging until it collapses.

Then everything around me explodes. The entire dimension trembles as the place that was once a white plain becomes a completely black plain.

My body collapses as I see that Morynna still survived. Her endurance is a little higher than I expected — or I’ve become weaker than I expected. She falls along with me as we collide with the ground.

I rise, exhausted from the magic expenditure and with wounds from my own explosion. However, before I can attack Morynna, who was getting up, she is struck by thousands of arrows and swords. I look toward the direction the attack came from and know it’s Pandora.

"...How frustrating..." I can’t believe she stole my chance to kill Morynna — and even shredded her body until it became a puddle of flesh and blood on the ground. But since I’m hungry, I head over to the body to start eating.

--------------------------------------------------

Hello, readers!! I’m here to share a few things!! First, I’m sorry that the fight between Azraelith and Morynna wasn’t as amazing as it could have been. It’s simply that both are maximum explosive attack types — there wasn’t much that could be done here.

Second, I’d like to let you know that we’re approaching the end of the work!! It’ll still take a little while, but once the story reaches the end of the main plotline, I plan to create side stories.

I want to make it clear that the side stories won’t, for the most part, be alternate universes. Instead, they’ll be things that are part of the story’s own continuity — things that were promised to happen.

Some extra explanations, some fluffy Chapters, some reunion Chapters, some informational ones, some sexual ones, and some will show the future — that is, what happened to certain characters after the present timeline of the work!!

I hope you enjoyed the battle between Pandora and Elysia. I put a lot of effort into it — so much so that it has as many Chapters as Pandora’s battle against the heroes, and mind you, there were over 20 heroes, while Elysia was just one person!!

I think that’s all. Now, stay tuned for the next fight, which will be Echidna versus the other two goddesses!! We’ll see if Echidna will win or lose!! And no, the fight hasn’t been skewed in any direction!!

I’m saying this so you don’t immediately think, "Oh, Echidna will win for sure since Pandora and Azraelith won." All the fighters could have lost their fights.

Both Pandora and Azraelith, in their respective areas of expertise, could have been defeated — meaning victory was never guaranteed for any of the characters!! Azraelith’s fight may have even ended "quickly," being only one Chapter, but the possibility of her dying always existed.

And the speed at which a fight ends doesn’t define the characters’ chances of survival!! So Echidna has real chances of losing her fight, just as Pandora had real chances of losing hers.

Even though Azraelith’s fight only lasted one Chapter, within the story’s universe, the fight lasted as long as Pandora’s — even a bit longer, since Pandora has already had time to help her.

Well, that’s it! I hope you enjoy what’s still to come!! And look forward eagerly to what will happen in the future!!
