Chapter 701: Divine Scenario Part 1
Chapter 701: Divine Scenario Part 1
[Context!! This Chapter takes place VERY far in the future. We will follow the basis of the Omnipotent Pandora’s perspective, meaning the time in this Chapter should not necessarily be taken into account for future side stories, as the Omnipotent Pandora exists everywhere and at every moment of the past, present, and future.
That being said, this Chapter takes place about 3 billion years after the main story!! So in the next side stories, we will return to times like 3 years, 10 years, 2 years, etc!! For now, this side story will last longer than two Chapters, unlike many others that were two-Chapter side stories!!]
"How do you feel about eternity, Pandora? Even though you know everything, today is your 3-billionth year in mortal existence, even if your real age is, relativistically speaking, infinite," Oriane asks, handing me a birthday "cake."
"...Hmm...it felt so minuscule. It’s like a macro-verse event — mortals wouldn’t notice it because they’re too fast and ephemeral. To me, 3 billion years is almost like yesterday morning," I give her the answer that fits best.
"Hahaha, good answer. It’s complicated to put into words, right? Since as an omnipotent being, your existence dates back to before the universe was even created, even though theoretically you were ’born’ 3 billion years ago," Oriane speaks of the complexities of cataloging beings like us in words and mortal time.
"I really didn’t need a cake as if I were a child having a birthday. Besides, the party you threw is kind of empty, isn’t it? There are no guests," I say, looking at the table with decorations, food, and other mortal things.
"I just thought it was fitting to do something mortals do," she says with a smile.
"3 billion birthday parties... I don’t think mortals hold that many celebrations. After all, the older a being gets, the less value the party holds," I tell her, placing the cake on the table. At least she genuinely put in the effort instead of using her powers like other times.
"What a rude thought!! I always put in effort, but obviously creating something with my powers was the best choice at the moment to make today special."
"...You didn’t need to have prepared the script 0.1 Tarts of years in advance." It’s such an immense number that only three universes in the multiverse are capable of using that measurement of time.
"Hehehe, you know how I am, right? Doing this is exciting." As she smiles at me, I stare at the candle on the cake.
"There’s life in that universe you used to make the cake candle. Even though I already know the answer, are you okay with me destroying that?"
"Of course, it’s not like we could feel remorse. That’s a mortal thing... and unfortunately, we can’t feel it. But if you want, I can cry when you break the candle."
"...Cry for me. If you do that, I’ll give you a present."
"But it’s your birthday. I shouldn’t be the one getting presents."
"..." I look at the gift box she made for me. I walk toward it and crush the box, hearing the crack like shattering glass, then look at Oriane, who starts to cry.
"Sorry, Oriane, my hand slipped. Can I give you a present as an apology?"
"Y-You’re so mean." She plays along; after all, as omnipotent beings, all that’s left for us is to act.
"Yes, yes... seriously, isn’t this getting too repetitive for you? It’s not like I can feel boredom, but this exact same scenario has been played out by us at least 5 million times — the same words, actions, and effects... let’s do something new that these fragile physical bodies we made haven’t experienced yet." She grows thoughtful.
"Something new we haven’t experienced physically... one of the infinite possibilities already realized by our omniscient existence..." The scenery around us changes the instant she wishes it.
There’s no need for movement or action, and not even distortions occur, displaying what can only be described simply as absolute perfection. The environment is an ordinary school, a simplified ultra-verse.
A universal structure superior to the universe she built for her races to live in and where my avatars reside, as well as superior to a standard multiverse. She truly ’committed’ to my present this time.
"Beautiful. It’s always a pleasure to watch you use your powers," I say, looking out the window at trees that seem ordinary to the mundane observer, but where each fiber generates a simple universe where conscious and rational life emerges.
"School uniform... I like the theme." I see the slightly short black skirt paired with a white top. The fabric is of stupendous quality — couldn’t expect less from another omnipotent.
"A school setting is something we’ve never experienced. Me being in charge is also something we’ve only had 12 experiences of in total so far," she says while I already know what future constitutes our current scenario.
"Sounds good and interesting, although I’d prefer if you had a real penis instead of using a universal strap-on. Hot, pulsing flesh is better than a cold logical barrier of existential rules."
"...Perfect, then. You always choose living things. Your sadism is truly cruel," she says with a sweet smile as I hear the school bell ringing.
’A school scenario... a novelty as requested... let’s see what physical sensations this causes me.’ Schools in the past, before I was omnipotent, wouldn’t have been a setting I’d enjoy, but now it’s a "novelty" that pleases me.
"Pandora, before that, can I make a few last customizations?"
"Why ask if you already know the answer?"
"It sounds better to me to ask this kind of thing. After all, it’s your birthday, your present. I wouldn’t do anything you don’t want physically speaking, since metaphysically speaking you’ve already answered me."
"...Do what you want. ’Surprise me’ physically speaking, hahaha." It’s almost comical to speak this way. I’d say it’s nearly caricatured to talk like this, since there are many existential distributions that partially explain fragments of each point of our existences.
"...You can head to your classroom. Your dear delinquent Oriane-chan is waiting for you behind the school at lunchtime," she says as a very tight school uniform appears on her body, paired with a hoodie tied around her waist — practically a delinquent cliché, but one that could be fun.
"Oka—"
"Pandora... before you go, could you limit your existence?"
"..."
"Since we’re both omnipotent, knowing every interaction before it happens ends up taking away part of the charm of the interaction. Three billion years ago, I saw I would make this request of you, and that your answer would depend on five futures with some trillions of ramifications."
"You yourself did this so that I could choose, so I chose this future for both of us. If we both limit ourselves, even if deep down nothing changes, it’ll seem like we don’t know anything. It’s more fun that way, right?"
"...You’re right. Of course you are. Alright then — no memories, no use of powers, no unlimited consciousness, or other omnipotence frills, right?" I tell her with a smile.
"Yes, it’ll be like starting from zero. A fun scenario, like all the scenarios from here on out."
"...Hahahaha, you really know how to spice up our games," I say with a smile on my face.
"You’re the one who planned this before. I just followed your lead."
"Fine, then. The moment I walk through that door, our game begins. Pandora and Oriane, two students who most certainly are not omnipotent and do not know their futures. Game duration... 23 years. Very short, almost nothing, but a spark worth experiencing." I give her a nod as a door appears in front of me.
’This will be... interesting.’ I start walking to go through the door, beginning our game.
