Chapter 825
Chapter 825: “Do You Know What You’re Saying?”
“—”
Silence.
A deathly silence.
When the upright figure of the Hero appeared silently, entering everyone’s sight, whether they knew him or not, they all fell into an unspeakable silence.
Especially Misji, Nobu, Meldo, Josef, and the others who had never met Shien before.
“He’s Shien Buztout?” Misji’s eyes narrowed.
“Shien, the Hero…” Nobu and Josef held their breaths simultaneously.
“Is he the one…?” Meldo looked at the Hero, much younger than himself, a strange glint in his eyes.
As for the other Legendary experts and influential figures, they all looked at Shien, their expressions changing. Murmurs arose among the onlookers, the silence gradually replaced by noise. Shien’s sudden appearance startled everyone.
“Earl Buztout…” Even Yuler, looking at the seemingly unchanged Shien, felt a strange sense of guilt. After all, he had a good relationship with Shien, but he came here with such a crowd, seemingly joining forces with them to pressure Shien. Although calling it betrayal might be an exaggeration, it still made him feel somewhat guilty.
Shien, however, seemed to ignore Yuler, walking out with steady steps, his gaze sweeping across the crowd. “Master!” Yulin, no longer cold and aloof, flapped her wings and landed beside him, saying angrily, “They…” She didn’t finish her sentence, interrupted by Shien.
“It’s fine,” he said, his expression unchanged.
However, his calmness brought an indescribable pressure upon everyone present. For a moment, none of these influential figures spoke.
Shien ignored them, walked towards them, his gaze sweeping across each of them as if trying to recognize them, then he suddenly smiled.
“What’s wrong, everyone?” he asked with a smirk, “Didn’t you want to see me? I’m here now. Why don’t you look happy?” His pointed words made these dignitaries, who were used to flattery and had thick faces, feel slightly awkward.
Misji, Nobu, Meldo, and Josef quickly composed themselves, their minds racing as they looked at the suddenly appearing Shien. They were curious about this Hero who was currently in the spotlight and had thoughts of befriending him. If they could truly visit him and have a chat, it would be a good thing. Normally, they would be smiling and greeting him warmly. Unfortunately, compared to the captivating figure in their hearts, even the Hero had to take a back seat. They were all thinking of ways to inquire about Shafney.
However, while these leaders of the Human Race could restrain themselves, the others weren’t so patient. A burly, Legendary-level expert couldn’t hold back any longer, stepping forward and shouting upon seeing Shien,
“Hero Shien! You took Her Highness, the Succubus, to…” He didn’t finish his sentence.
“Bang!” A loud explosion echoed.
“Ugh!” The burly expert felt a sharp pain in his abdomen, as if his internal organs had shifted, and he collapsed to the ground, groaning.
“—!?” The sudden violence shocked everyone, their bodies tensing, magic power seeping out.
“What!?” The surrounding onlookers were also startled by the sudden turn of events.
“Earl Buztout, you…” Even Yuler looked at Shien in astonishment.
Shien stood there, seemingly unmoving.
But those with keen senses noticed that his figure had flickered slightly, becoming blurry for an instant before returning to normal.
“So fast…!” Josef, the Wind Sword Saint, his eyes narrowing, as if witnessing something unbelievable.
Under everyone’s disbelieving gazes, Shien glanced at the fallen Legendary expert and said casually,
“Don’t mind it, I’m just teaching this uncultured fellow some manners. Don’t follow his example.” His light words made everyone look at each other.
Misji, Nobu, Meldo, and Josef stared at Shien, their eyes filled with wariness.
This Hero seemed troublesome, and his temper wasn’t very good either.
This was going to be a problem…
Their hearts sank.
One of the reasons they dared to gather so brazenly was because they thought the Hero would compromise.
After all, Heroes were known for their righteousness and principles, never resorting to violence easily. They wouldn’t attack someone with a smile, and towards their fellow humans and allies, they would always protect and fight for justice, not resorting to violence over a few words.
Heroes were seen as virtuous and righteous beings, easy to talk to and kind, even tolerant and forgiving towards those who were unreasonable, not resorting to violence like this. Therefore, they thought that the Hero wouldn’t simply refuse to meet them, but would accommodate them, even if reluctantly. That’s what a Hero should be like, right? But… this Hero seemed different.
Seeing Shien’s calm expression, his gaze chilling, those who were about to shout and condemn him shut their mouths, not even daring to breathe.
“Hmph.” Only Yulin stood beside Shien, looking at the scene as if thinking, “They deserve it.”
Finally, Yuler stepped forward.
“Earl Buztout, we have no ill intentions, please believe us,” he said with a wry smile.
Shien nodded frankly.
“I know you have no ill intentions, not all of you are here for me,” he admitted, but his tone was still sharp, “But you’re still causing trouble on my territory. As the host, if I don’t teach you some manners, wouldn’t I be neglecting my duties?”
Hearing this, Meldo couldn’t hold back any longer.
“What do you mean by that, Hero Shien?” he asked, staring at Shien, “Everyone here is of equal or higher status than you, even His Majesty the King of our nation is present. Not only did you not welcome us warmly, but you also acted so rudely. Can I consider this a provocation from the Mitra Kingdom towards our Laraby, the Magical Nation?”
These words made the atmosphere tense.
This wasn’t a joking matter.
With a single sentence, Meldo had escalated this into a conflict between nations.
If not handled properly, the diplomatic consequences would be severe, especially between two major human nations like the Mitra Kingdom and the magical nation of Laraby, both among the top three in the Human Realm. Moreover, Laraby held a special position among human nations, and if possible, no one wanted to offend them.
Why?
Because the current situation didn’t allow it.
The three major human nations were the Ragna Empire, the Mitra Kingdom, and the magical nation of Laraby.
Although Laraby was the weakest of the three, its military strength was comparable to the Mitra Kingdom’s, and it was also the nation that could best check both the Ragna Empire and the Mitra Kingdom.
After all, the Ragna Empire and the Mitra Kingdom were long-time rivals, their feud lasting for a thousand years. If Laraby sided with one of them, that nation could easily conquer the other. Moreover, Laraby had always remained neutral, watching from the sidelines, as if waiting to take advantage of their conflict. Therefore, with such a powerful nation watching, both the Ragna Empire and the Mitra Kingdom didn’t want to offend them and risk their own destruction.
In other words, if Laraby and the Mitra Kingdom became enemies, Laraby might side with the Ragna Empire, causing great trouble for the Mitra Kingdom.
Therefore, if this matter escalated to an international level, the Mitra Kingdom would be in a difficult position.
Meldo clearly said this intentionally.
“Now, now, don’t say that, Meldo. Earl Buztout didn’t mean it,” Misji said, seemingly trying to mediate and smooth things over for Shien, but not denying that Laraby might use this as an excuse. As expected of a king, his methods were quite skillful.
However…
“I don’t really mind,” Shien said, as if watching a monkey show, “Regardless of what the Mitra Kingdom thinks, personally, if you want to see this as a provocation, then so be it.” He shrugged. “Although, in my opinion, I’m the one being provoked.”
His words left everyone speechless.
“Do… do you even know what you’re saying? Do you know how serious the consequences of your words will be?” Meldo shouted at Shien, his bluster unconvincing.
Shien smiled, a chilling smile that made everyone’s scalps tingle, a smile devoid of any emotion.
Then, he spoke.
“I should be the one asking you that,” he said, looking up, all emotion disappearing from his face, “Do you know the consequences of displeasing me like this?”
As his words fell, a terrifying magic power, no longer suppressed, erupted from his body, disrupting the atmosphere, which wailed, and the world trembled slightly.
Cries of alarm echoed from within the Royal Capital, panic and chaos arising.
A terrifying, half-step Transcendent level pressure emanated from Shien, enveloping everyone.
“—!?” Everyone’s expressions changed drastically. Some collapsed as if crushed by a mountain, others bent over or even knelt on the ground, their faces turning pale.
“This pressure…!?” Misji, unable to stand, knelt on the ground, looking at Shien with terror in his eyes.
“Ugh…!” Nobu and Josef knelt on one knee, struggling to stand, their veins bulging.
“Is this Legendary Level…?” Meldo asked, his face pale and his expression dazed.
“No, this isn’t Legendary Level, not even Limit Level. This is…!?” Yuler stared at Shien with wide eyes, his face filled with shock.
And even these renowned experts were like this, one could imagine the state of the ordinary onlookers and Legendary-level experts. Some had already collapsed, some fainted, some even coughed up blood, injured simply by Shien’s aura.
Shien, with overwhelming power, suppressed everyone.
Those within the Buztout residence who didn’t come out also witnessed this scene, equally shocked.
“He… he…” Riley stammered.
“…So strong,” Vivian said, her eyes flickering intensely.
“This… this is Master Shien’s current strength…?” Lumia was terrified.
“…” Diere remained silent, simply staring at Shien.
“Hee hee.” Only Yulin chuckled smugly. No, not just Yulin, but Lilith, awakened by the commotion, also appeared, rubbing her eyes, her beautiful eyes curving into crescents as she watched the scene.
Shafney was also watching.
“As expected of the most special Hero, not bound by those boring rules and regulations,” she said, smiling in satisfaction.
“This is a man worthy of my approval.”
