Chapter 2342: The Lord’s Left Forearm Goal
From her left hand, Pin pulled a pile of clothes that she had scavenged, and most of them were marred with blood, as she had picked them off the devils’ corpses. In this layer, the devils didn’t own much, and so even in their villages, there wasn’t that much food, unused clothes, or weapons.
But after looking through the pile, she found a pair of simple black thongs, a ragged skirt, a second cloak that fit her bigger body better, but sadly, there was nothing big enough to fit her new upper assets.
She put the thongs on and slid the torn skirt over them, looking down at herself and finding that the skirt could barely cover a quarter of her thighs, and with how wide her hips were, she almost tore it. The cloak fit nicely over her shoulders, so she poked a tiny hole in it and slid a piece of cloth to lock it around her chest and cover it. She didn’t care that much about covering herself more than making sure they didn’t flap around and throw her out of balance.
Done with that, she pulled a piece of dried meat to eat, closed her eyes, and started trying to feel her body. She wanted to see how far her curse got. Now, many people fear her in this layer, so her raw physical strength should be far above what’s expected of a devil her size. Judging by her build, claws, and thick legs, she could tell that she was a brawler, so focusing on sheer violence was the path forward for her.
That was good, nothing turns her on more than killing someone with her bare hands, slowly tearing them piece by piece as they scream and squeal.
After finishing her meal, she stood and decided to leave. There should be a city down south where she could take a tunnel that leads down to the next layer, so she approached the collapsed cave entrance and started moving the boulders one by one. She could’ve just used void step to get past the rubble, but she wanted to test her new body and see how big a rock she could carry.
Bigger boulder equals better, and she can now carry a boulder that’s almost half as tall as her with ease. It was a good level of strength that could easily allow her to snap someone’s neck if she got a hold of them, but it wasn’t something abhorrently overpowered like Eris or Arad.
Speaking of Arad and Eris, the two were directly connected to her. Her faith and origin as Eris’s servant linked her to the divine goddess stronger than any paladin could ever dream of, and thanks to Arad giving her his left arm, she could get a direct connection to him as well.
She understood Eris well, but she had to figure out what the deal was with Arad’s arm. The Lord’s Left Forearm. As mysterious as it was, Pin could easily guess what its role was, as only a few things made sense.
Eris knew that Arad was AO, and so did Pin, her servant, so she made a guess. AO, Arad Orion, isn’t a benevolent or malevolent being. He is both. He can be good, evil, absurd, loving, sadistic, or cruel. It all depends on how people interact with him. If they show kindness, he replies with kindness, and if they show evil, he replies with cruelty.
A hand of Love, and a hand of Punishment. She looked at her left hand. "The Lord’s Left Forearm, his vile hand, the one that punishes, the one that causes pain and suffering." She looked at the stones she had shoveled. "Hell is AO’s punishment for the sinners, so it fits for us to be here."
Right now, Amaterasu is the divine goddess fueling Hell. So if Arad is to build a new universe, it would make sense for Eris to be the one fueling his new Hell. So, how is this new Hell going to be built? The answer to that was simple; Arad already gave birth to it long ago. The Lord’s Left Forearm is the new Hell, a fetus that needs to watch and learn from the old hell.
Arad didn’t give Pin the Lord’s Left Forearm to protect her, but so she could protect the Lord’s Left Forearm and guide it through hell.
Making her way out of the cave and onto the hill, she could see the horrifying damage that the Lord’s Left Forearm had done. A few kilometers east, the entire geology of hell had been plowed and turned upside down until it became unrecognizable.
She looked down at her left hand. "You’re a handful, aren’t you?"
The hand grew an eye, looked at her for a second, and then the eye disappeared again as if disapproving. Pin giggled, and then started walking. Her hands were tingling to murder someone, but for now, she decided to endure the urge and stay low. The First Layer of Hell isn’t giving her enough experience without having to confront Tiamat’s goons, and the last thing she wanted was the Dragon Goddess coming to give her a beating.
She walked and walked, and a few hours later, she could finally see the city she was aiming for. The Capital of the First Layer of Hell, Gradios, the city of pain and the home of Pandemonium, a fortified castle that acts like a dungeon leading down to the second layer.
As she walked down the road, she saw a few cat-sized maggots crawling on the side of the road, and she smiled. "See those? They are soul worms; some call them Maggot Sinners. When a sinner is condemned to hell, they don’t always show up in a human form. Some of them take the shape of maggots."
She reached down and easily caught one of the maggots. "They are a stable food for the devils." She licked the maggot. "Fatty, sweet, and rich. But that isn’t the best part. They are conscious mortal souls. This one is an old guy, a corrupt noble who stole money from his people and forced them into labor with intensive taxes until they started dropping dead like flies."
She opened her mouth and took a bite of the maggot, causing it to wiggle and twitch. "Since they are mostly fat, you can almost eat them whole before they die." She kept walking, biting into the maggot slowly and taking her time to eat it. When she finished, she threw the hard head and looked at her left hand. "They’ll resurrect in a day or two, so we can eat them again."
After a long walk, she finally reached the capital, and the two guards standing there gave her a weird look. "Where did you come from?"
