The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1744: Possession

Chapter 1744: Possession

Just as the rapier was about to pierce Cain’s right eye, he opened his jaws—and a massive torrent of red flames erupted outward, blasting directly into Tania’s chest and sending her flying like a meteor across the battlefield.

Not even a second later, Cain’s hand moved with uncanny precision, intercepting the axe at the edge of its arc. With a single motion, he redirected its force downward, slamming it into the ground. The impact cracked the earth and buried the weapon deep into the shattered stone.

“Ahhh!”

A scream of pain echoed from beneath the ruptured battlefield. Hercule had attempted a stealth assault, hiding beneath the surface. But Cain had anticipated it.

He struck the embedded axe again, forcing it even deeper into the earth. The shockwave ripped through the ground, forcing Hercule out of hiding. The Titan Wolf emerged violently from below, only to be greeted by a brutal punch to the stomach that sent him hurtling backward.

Moments later, both Tania and Hercule soared back into the sky. Their bodies were battered, but the fury in their eyes had only intensified. Cold rage burned in their expressions as they clenched their fists and unleashed a flood of power. More and more energy poured into their bodies, surging from their divine patrons with reckless abandon.

Cain narrowed his golden eyes.

“Ruthless indeed,” he muttered.

He understood exactly what was happening. The sudden influx of power was a double-edged sword. Such unnatural enhancements would surely lead to catastrophic backlash on Tania and Hercule’s bodies.

Clearly, Lilith and Lucius—the ones controlling them now—had no intention of preserving the vessels. They had pushed the Blood Princess and the Wolf Titan to the absolute limit, fueling them until they were on the brink of bursting.

The duo struck again.

Cain began to dodge, still relying on The Flow to read their movements. But this time, their speed had reached such absurd levels that even with his mastery, he found himself reacting only in the nick of time. There were no openings left to counterattack. It was pure, relentless pressure.

And finally, one blow landed.

Hercule’s axe, swinging with divine momentum, cut through Cain’s side, leaving a deep gash across his ribs. The force of the impact sent Cain crashing into a nearby mountain.

“BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!”

The entire mountain exploded in a shockwave of dust and rock, reduced to rubble by the sheer force of Cain’s impact. The battlefield fell silent. Even the wind seemed to pause.

Tania and Hercule, standing mid-air, allowed a brief smile to form across their faces. A flicker of satisfaction filled their hearts.

But it didn’t last long.

From beneath the debris, a violent surge of dark, destructive energy erupted. The shattered rocks disintegrated into ash as a terrifying presence emerged—so powerful it made the very air scream.

“Doomsday Incarnation.”

The words echoed across the battlefield like a divine decree.

Cain stepped forward, no longer in his previous form. His body had transformed completely. Muscles rippled with raw energy, bone spikes jutted from his shoulders, elbows, and knees. Four demonic wings had sprouted from his back, their razor-sharp edges crackling with black lightning.

He was the living embodiment of destruction, every cell of his body radiating annihilation, every fiber of his soul infused with pure destructive force.

Lilith and Lucius, using the bodies of Tania and Hercule, frowned. They could feel it—the shift, the surge, the escalation beyond reason.

Cain didn’t give them time to react.

He raised his right arm and pointed his clawed fingers toward them.

“Apocalypse Blast.”

A deafening hum rang out as a cannon of super-condensed Neo-Demon Aura, fused with the power of the Absolute Destruction Doomsday Body, erupted forward. The beam of energy streaked across the battlefield at a speed that defied logic.

Tania just barely managed to transform into a blood mist, reappearing in the sky above moments later.

Hercule, slower to respond, summoned a vortex of silver moonlight around himself, forming a protective cocoon just as the beam struck.

“BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!”

The explosion consumed Hercule, and Tania’s eyes widened in horror. But there was no time to process it. Cain had already appeared before her, his body sundering the very fabric of space as he arrived with near-instantaneous velocity.

She saw the fist coming.

It was covered in a sheen of dark energy, so destructive that if it landed, it would shatter her skull.

Drawing on all her martial skill, Tania raised her sword to defend.

“BOOOOMMMM!”

The force of the strike sent shockwaves through her weapon and body, cracking the blade and sending her tumbling through the air. Cain didn’t stop.

He followed, unrelenting.

Fist after fist rained down, each strike laced with pure killing intent. Tania had no choice but to keep defending, her sword acting more like a shield than a weapon as she was blasted further and further across the sky.

“CRACK!”

A shattering sound echoed.

Her sword broke.

The weapon forged by blood rituals and blessed by her patron disintegrated under Cain’s onslaught.

Cain’s ferocious smile returned.

He delivered one final punch—this one into Tania’s chest. Her ribcage collapsed under the force, and she was launched downward like a comet.

“BOOM!”

A massive crater formed as she struck the earth. Dust and debris flew in all directions. She could barely breathe. The pain was unbearable. Her body was broken.

But that was the least of her concerns.

Cain landed in front of her a second later, his golden eyes cold and merciless. He raised his hand, pointing it at her with lethal intent.

There was no hesitation in his expression. He wasn’t just going to kill her—he was going to erase her, body and soul.

Tania’s eyes widened. She could feel the power collecting in his palm. It was over.

Until—

Hercule emerged from the shadows, his body covered in burns, his armor scorched, but his resolve unbroken. Despite the pain, despite the blood, he lunged forward and grabbed Cain from behind, locking his arms around him in a bear hug.

Cain’s bone spikes pierced through Hercule’s flesh, but the werewolf didn’t flinch.

“NOW!” he screamed again.

Tania’s eyes glowed.

A monstrous surge of soul force erupted within her. Her body trembled. Her consciousness blurred—and then, a demonic phantom, ancient and vampiric, tore free from her eyes, screaming as it dove toward Cain’s head.
