Chapter 1797: Divine Kingdom’s self-destruction
Chapter 1797: Divine Kingdom’s self-destruction
With strength sufficient to bend the very fabric of space-time, Cain’s sword descended, its weight akin to an entire world crashing down.
Lucius’ eyes widened dramatically, horror and disbelief flashing through them as he realized his gravitational pulse—no matter how desperately amplified—was utterly ineffective against the incoming devastation.
The Beast God pushed every remaining ounce of energy he possessed into intensifying his repulsive force, but it was futile; the sword continued its inevitable descent, unstoppable, like the decree of fate itself.
At last, the weapon collided directly with Lucius’ chest.
"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!"
A catastrophic explosion erupted at the point of impact, sending powerful shockwaves reverberating through the entire Divine Kingdom’s sky, shattering the fabric of space and sending huge pieces into oblivion, leaving massive holes where everything collapsed.
The overwhelming force shattered the Beast God’s ribs, crushed his sternum, battered his heart, and punctured his lungs, sending him plummeting to the ground like a meteorite. The sheer intensity of the strike sent tremors across the entire Divine Kingdom, violently shaking its foundations, and leveling everythign in sight.
"RUMBLE!"
Lucius crashed into the earth with unimaginable force, carving out a massive canyon that stretched for thousands of kilometers. His body lay at the bottom of the newly-formed crater, broken and nearly lifeless, immersed in his own pooling blood. The strike had devastated his internal organs, gravely damaging even his resilient heart. It was miraculous that he retained any shred of consciousness amidst the horrific carnage inflicted upon his body.
Cain hovered in the air, breathing heavily. His bulging muscles slowly receded to their normal proportions, his heartbeat gradually calming. Even with the overwhelming vitality coursing through him from the Scarlet Throne, such an attack had severely strained him, bringing his body dangerously close to collapse.
Thankfully, the potent crimson flames rapidly spread throughout his veins, mending torn muscles and shattered bones, quickly restoring him to peak condition.
Lucius was not so fortunate. His battered body struggled desperately to cling to life, eyes wide with panic as the chilling shadow of death crept closer. Yet, in the next instant, the terror within his eyes faded, replaced by an ancient, commanding presence that seemed timeless and immeasurably vast.
Like a puppet controlled by unseen strings, Lucius’ battered form began rising eerily from the crater, his eyes sharpening, radiating a power that transcended his weakened physical state.
Cain stared unflinchingly into those ancient eyes. For a brief moment, Lucius’ battered body flickered out of view, replaced by an aged figure whose aura carried the infinity of heaven and the boundlessness of earth. Recognition surged through Cain instantly: this was not Lucius but the will of the Ancestor of Heaven and Earth manifesting within him.
The Ancestor had evidently implanted a fragment of his consciousness within Lucius’ Soul Dimension, elevating the Beast God’s abilities far beyond normal limits. His goal had been straightforward—to ambush and annihilate Cain and Meylin while keeping his own primary form and soul safely hidden within his Divine Kingdom, far beyond the reach of the Lord of the Void.
Despite such good ambush, and even with such overwhelming borrowed power, Lucius—or rather, the Ancestor possessing him—had failed to overcome the perfectly synchronized teamwork of Cain and Meylin.
"Hmph," the Ancestor scoffed through Lucius’ broken body. "This is merely the beginning. Soon, you shall learn the enormity of heaven and earth and regret the day you dared stand in my way."
Lucius raised a trembling hand, his consciousness reaching out to the core of the Divine Kingdom itself. He intended to trigger its self-destruction, obliterating everything within. The Ancestor of Heaven and Earth’s soul fragment would easily escape unharmed and for the man Lucius’ survival was insignificant and inconsequential.
However, just as the Ancestor’s consciousness was on the brink of activating the cataclysmic blast, a sharp, piercing sound echoed through the battlefield, startlingly precise and brutally sudden.
Lucius’ eyes widened, frozen in shock, as Meylin’s sword impaled the back of his skull, severing the connection between his consciousness and the Divine Kingdom. The Depravita of Pride appeared from the shadows, her eyes cold and unyielding as the devastating power of her Path surged through her blade.
A flicker of dread surfaced in Lucius’ eyes, but this fear belonged solely to the ancient presence inside him—the Ancestor of Heaven and Earth. Panic surged through the Arch-Deity as he realized, with sudden horror, that his fragment of consciousness was now trapped within Lucius’ dying vessel, unable to escape or return to safety.
Before the Ancestor could devise any desperate plan, the sky above the Divine Kingdom split open dramatically, revealing a colossal scarlet gate. It slowly creaked open, unveiling a nightmarish realm beyond—a realm filled with structures forged from the remains of still-living Third Realm entities.
The Ancestor’s instincts screamed louder and fiercer than they had in millions of years, sensing imminent annihilation should he enter that terrible gateway.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
The enraged cry reverberated across the cosmos itself, echoing through the distant chaos, splitting apart the turbulent waves. Cain’s eyes narrowed sharply as he spotted a distant figure blasting furiously through the endless chaotic storms, rapidly approaching the Divine Kingdom. The newcomer appeared ancient, his body frail and decrepit, yet the colossal aura radiating from him was powerful enough to shake the surrounding chaos, threatening to arrive instantly.
However, just as the Ancestor was about to reach the Divine Kingdom, another figure emerged—powerful, composed, and unmistakably confident. The Lord of the Void stood firmly in his path, his face bearing an unsettlingly serene smile.
"Move aside!" roared the Ancestor of Heaven and Earth furiously. Waves of gray radiated outwards from his frail form, manipulating particles of matter and energy into stasis, attempting to freeze reality itself around him.
Yet the Lord of the Void stood unfazed, his aura surging with immense, unrestrained power. He responded with a titanic explosion of energy, forcing the chaos back into furious movement, shattering the Ancestor’s stasis field.
The cosmic confrontation was imminent. Reality itself trembled under the magnitude of their collision.
