Chapter 1982: A World War is inevitable
With that single piece of information, everything became clear. It explained how Azazel had managed to draw two Archdeities—one from the Light Camp, one from the Dark—to his side with such disturbing ease. They had no other choice.
Gilgamesh’s days were numbered. With the rise of the Scarlet Path and its merciless crusade against all things wicked and depraved, it was only a matter of time before his atrocities came back to consume him. And Juda—his position was even worse. The Scarlet King was known to cherish brotherhood and honor above all else, and Juda had betrayed the King’s right hand. For him, there could be no future but death.
Cain had no interest in Juda’s private hatred, nor in the dark killing intent that lingered in his eyes. Such emotions were irrelevant. In truth, Cain had intended to visit Juda and Gilgamesh once he had consolidated a foundation strong enough to crush them both without backlash. Their bodies and souls would make fitting offerings to feed the Scarlet Throne. But Azazel, it seemed, had moved faster.
No longer dwelling on the past, Cain drew in a deep breath. Coldness sharpened his gaze; killing intent radiated like frost from his skin.
"Now," Cain declared, his voice a low and merciless thunder, "the Ouroboros Cult’s sacred dimension is mine. You should leave—unless you wish to make this place our final battleground."
Azazel met Cain’s eyes for a long, silent moment. A flash of chill broke his otherwise composed expression. Then, without another word, he turned. With him went Juda and Gilgamesh, their figures flickering away until only silence remained across the continent.
Only when their presence had fully faded did Cain finally release a long, steady sigh. He had acted swiftly, using the momentum of his victories over the Divine Calamity, the World Breaker, and the Lord of the Last Step to spread the power of the Scarlet Path and forge the Scarlet Alliance.
Through gifts and threats, promises and pressure, he had rallied forces to his side. Yet even so, he had only secured three Archdeities as allies—and of those, just two were fully committed. Technically, that left him on equal footing with Azazel, a rival who had emerged in this world less than five years ago, practically unknown, yet already commanding loyalty.
The True Depravita was not only powerful—he was persuasive, piercing the weaknesses of others with words as sharp as any blade. He exploited cracks in the mind and bent them into chains.
The weight of the situation pressed heavy, but Cain did not bend beneath it. Determination gleamed in his eyes as he gathered his thoughts and turned toward his sworn brothers.
"There is no doubt now," he said, voice iron. "A World War is inevitable."
Amon and Bael clenched their fists at once. There had never been a World War recorded in all the annals of the Everstrife Empyrean World. Such a cataclysm would be unlike anything history had known. Yet neither brother showed fear. Instead, they struck their chests in salute, and a faint red light shimmered in their eyes.
"Hail the Scarlet King!"
The words were few, but they carried everything Cain needed to hear. A wide smile spread across his face.
Amon and Bael were not only rivals in strength to Juda and Gilgamesh, they were also men Cain could trust without reservation. They had already proven themselves, fighting with their lives on the line in the battle against Legion. They would not falter now.
Cain extended his hand. Scarlet energy surged around him, condensing into two small, glowing seeds of blood-red light. He sent them forth, one to each brother.
"With these, you can create Scarlet Leviathans within your Soul Dimensions," Cain said. "Evolve them to the Third Realm, and they will transform into Scarlet Stars inside the Scarlet Throne. Through them, you will draw upon the throne’s psychic and spiritual might, and you will gain access to my Path of Conquest."
Amon and Bael’s eyes gleamed with excitement at his words. The Scarlet Throne was already infamous across the Everstrife Empyrean World, feared as the place where even the souls of Archdeities could be bound, an infinite battery of torment and power. To hold a fragment of its strength within themselves was a privilege without equal.
And Cain’s Path of Conquest was dreaded across the world. Many called it the strongest Path in existence.
But Cain was not finished.
"As promised," he continued, his voice calm but edged with gravity, "I will guide you in Resurrecion. The key lies in finding an ideal strong enough to lead you forward. Something that unites all your goals and pushes them beyond their current state. Through it, the Concepts that forge your Alter-Ego will reach equilibrium, and only then will it evolve to a higher rank, unlocking its true potential."
The brothers exchanged a look, and smiles broke across their faces. There were not many details yet, but even a step forward on such a path was priceless.
Cain’s eyes burned with quiet command.
"Awaken your Scarlet Leviathans within your Soul Dimensions. Then pour into them every iota of knowledge, every shred of insight you have regarding your Paths. I will analyze them, and I will guide you forward."
Neither brother dared delay. With reverence, they pressed the seeds into their Soul Dimensions. Their power surged. With their cultivation, it took mere moments for the Scarlet Seeds to bloom, birthing Divine Ascension-level Scarlet Leviathans.
Immediately, they funneled the entirety of their Paths—their beliefs, techniques, experiences, and concepts—into the Leviathans. The torrent of information flowed outward, linking to Cain’s mind.
Cain nodded slowly, feeling the streams of knowledge pouring into him.
"I will analyze it thoroughly," he said, his tone like stone, "and then I will guide you forward."
Amon and Bael bowed their heads, smiles broad with both excitement and relief.
The Scarlet King was the most exalted authority in the entire Everstrife Empyrean World when it came to the Ego Eternal Path of Power. If there was anyone who could illuminate the road of Resurrecion, who could shepherd their evolution to the next rank, it was him.
