Chapter 2019: Teleportation web
Chapter 2019: Teleportation web
The forces of the Imperium of Time finally reached the dominion of Calypso. There, a Dark Tree immediately unfurled its monstrous roots, manifesting the world’s energy and channeling it into their bodies. The ArchDeities felt the surge of power, yet their faces remained somber. None of them celebrated.
One by one, the ArchDeities turned their gazes toward Azazel. Their silence was heavy, the unspoken question hanging in the air like a blade: Had they chosen the wrong side?
Azazel’s eyes were sharp as obsidian, carrying a weight so oppressive it seemed capable of cursing the very spirit of those who met his gaze. Even the mightiest among his followers dared not speak.
The war’s beginning had been a disaster. His forces had already suffered painful losses. Their attempt to win over Dionisio had ended with the man’s capture, chained like a dog. And now, the ambush at SilentHeart Continent, which should have been his triumph, had turned against him. Once more, defeat had been snatched from his grasp, while the Scarlet Kingdom claimed victory and extended its dominion over continents that had once divided the Imperium’s lands. The Scarlet borders now pressed right in front of them.
Azazel could feel the weight of his generals’ stares. He knew their doubts, their unvoiced fears. But he remained unbowed. Even when everything seemed to crumble, he would not surrender to despair. The True Depravita had mastered his dark nature long ago. Unlike other beings, he was not a slave to emotion—he bent it to his will.
The situation looked dire, yes, but Azazel had not yet played his final hand. He trusted in his mind, his foresight, and his plans.
The True Depravita drew in a slow breath, preparing to address his commanders. His lips parted—
And then he froze.
His eyes widened in shock, disbelief flashing across his usually impassive face. Slowly, he turned toward the horizon.
The Imperium’s dominions were covered in a vast surveillance web, and through it, Azazel saw what had just unfolded: Leonidas and the Scarlet Kingdom’s army had appeared on the far south end of the Scarlet Intercontinental Formation, within the dominion of the YellowStone Heaven.
The sight chilled even him.
YellowStone Heaven had declared strict neutrality at the start of the war. Its gates had been sealed, its leaders intent on isolating themselves from the bloodshed of the world. Yet their lands were of immense strategic importance. They stood between the lower end of the Scarlet Intercontinental Formation and the dominions of Juda.
Azazel clenched his fists, his mind racing. The distance between SilentHeart Continent and YellowStone Heaven was massive. Even at full speed, it should have taken weeks to cover. But Cain’s Scarlet Kingdom had bypassed that entirely, moving their army as though the fabric of space itself bent to their will.
As for the SilentHeart Continent, now there was only the Scarlet King there, consuming the dark roots left behind and continuing to implant the Scarlet Pillars.
For a moment, Azazel simply stared. His piercing mind analyzed the runes he could sense echoing across the world. He reached into the Scarlet Intercontinental Formation with his psychic power—and then realization struck him like a thunderbolt.
"So that’s it. Not just energy reinforcement... but a teleportation web."
The amount of energy required for such a feat was unimaginable. To move an army of tens of thousands, including ArchDeities, across half the world? It was a miracle born of madness. Azazel doubted they could repeat it quickly. But once was enough.
Already, he saw through the eyes of his surveillance systems: the army of the Scarlet Kingdom spread like an unstoppable tide, each warrior carving runes into the earth. From the lowliest Divine Cultivator to the most exhausted ArchDeity, they worked in perfect unison, like ants building a hive. Runic lines scorched into the soil and seared into the sky, forming a scarlet lattice that bound land and sky together.
In just a matter of days, the formation across both continents of YellowStone Heaven would be complete. Once it was, the Scarlet Kingdom’s influence would stretch like chains across the Imperium’s lands.
Azazel’s hands curled into fists. His jaw tightened.
The wits and schemes of the Scarlet King were unlike anything he had ever faced. Cain was more than strong; he was a strategist whose vision extended beyond individual battles. Every move was calculated to weaken the Imperium piece by piece.
There was no time to delay.
"Remain here," Azazel ordered, his voice calm but absolute. "Hold the line."
Without another word, his body ignited in dark flame. He burned his energy, forcing his speed to its very limit, and flashed forward like a meteor tearing through the heavens. His figure sundered the sky, racing toward Juda’s territory.
He had no choice. Alone, he could not stand against the Scarlet Kingdom’s entire army. But with the power of the Dark Trees, he could at least deter their advance, slow their momentum, and give his side a chance to regroup.
He could not bring others with him. None could keep pace with the True Depravita, and if they all abandoned their posts, Cain would simply march into Calypso’s dominions and consume the Dark Trees there. There was no good choice. He could only cut his losses and limit the damage.
Meanwhile, the Scarlet Kingdom surged forward. Their speed was terrifying. The Sky Sovereign guided their hands with the mastery of a true Rune Lord. His skills, enhanced by the ancient texts Cain had obtained from the Ouroborus Sect, elevated him to great heights. Under his direction, runic lines were carved with breathtaking precision.
Above them, the Six Chief Councilors wove their minds together, augmented by the full might of the [A.I. Chip Module]. Their thoughts formed a single unified consciousness, one that could calculate, direct, and correct every etching across two continents simultaneously.
It was art and war entwined.
In less than forty-eight hours, the impossible was achieved.
The runes of the Scarlet Intercontinental Formation blazed across the lands of YellowStone Heaven. Earth and sky glowed crimson, the light so fierce it could be seen from the void beyond the world.
The Scarlet Kingdom’s warriors raised their heads, their eyes burning with battle fervor. The formation fed them energy, power surging through their veins like molten fire.
Their gazes locked on the horizon, where a Dark Tree loomed, and without wasting a second, they marched forward.
