The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2031: The danger of the Power of Order

Chapter 2031: The danger of the Power of Order

Cain sat in silence at the heart of the Scarlet Crown, his body motionless, his eyes closed. Waves upon waves of life force surged into him from the continents under his dominion, flooding both body and soul. The ocean of vitality coursed through his veins, nurturing his existence, repairing torn flesh, knitting shattered bones, restoring his lost limb, and mending the backlash that Resurrección had inflicted.

Ao, the World Will turn multicontinental consciousness, channeled the torrent with precision, ensuring the flow strengthened rather than consumed him. Months passed in that suspended state until, finally, Cain opened his eyes.

What emerged was not relief, nor fatigue, nor even triumph over the fact that he managed to face the entire Imperium of Time alone. His gaze was empty—vast voids that seemed to only grow stronger. The Power of Order raged within him, silent yet absolute, stripping away everything that did not serve a purpose. He rose to his feet, inspecting himself, testing the subtle harmony between flesh, spirit, and will.

"System," he commanded, his voice resonating like an edict. "Scan me."

At once, the Absolute Lifeform System stirred, its mechanical voice echoing through his mind as streams of light spread through his body.

A faint smile curved Cain’s lips. The Power of Order smothered all emotion, yet growth was the one indulgence it permitted him. Progress—the endless climb—was all that mattered, and here, his progress was undeniable.

"My Second Star of Origin has truly evolved my existence, refining every facet of body and soul. The dual Tribulation Enhancements have purified my talents, erasing every obstruction. In months, I will breach the Astral and Essence Paths again. I will become a Late Prima Deity before my two-hundredth year."

The thrill swelled as his mind turned inward, settling on the colossal presence of the Primarch of Conquest Leviathan—his Alter-Ego. The beast’s form was more immense than ever, each scale shimmering with power, each vein carrying blood that glowed with Conceptual energy surpassing the cosmic forces naturally born in the universe.

"I stand but one step from Middle Mind and Soul as One." The thought widened his smile. Yet then his focus shifted outward, beyond himself, to the state of his kingdom.

Cain extended his consciousness across the Scarlet Crown. A heavy, somber aura pressed in on all sides. The Archdeities were cultivating within, their bodies mangled, their spirits frayed. Save for Leonidas and Bael—whose pseudo-immortal constitutions sustained them—the others would take a long time to fully heal.

His eyes did not waver. Their suffering was a fact, but a fact without weight. Neither pity nor concern touched him. Nor did he stir at the conflicted expressions of the Prima Deities and soldiers of the Scarlet Kingdom. They were pieces. Replaceable. Irrelevant.

Until—

His perception brushed across a single presence. Astrid.

His wife sat alone in her chamber. Her eyes were bloodshot, her cheeks streaked with dried tears. She had been weeping for days, her soul convulsing with grief she could not contain. Cain lingered, watching silently, and for the first time since the battle, he faltered.

It was not her tears that reached him, but the reason behind them. Among those captured alongside Amon had been Rylanor, the Godslayer-Atrox hybrid, and no one knew if he yet lived.

Cain’s eyes trembled. Shock rippled across his face.

It was not that he had forgotten Rylanor’s fate. He remembered. But he had not cared.

Order had erased it. To the Power of Order, conflicting emotions were liabilities, distractions to be culled. The love for his child, the bond of blood—it had deemed them inefficient, irrelevant, and removed them like impurities from steel.

Only now, confronted with Astrid’s anguish, did Cain perceive the horror of it. His mind had become a chessboard, where even his own flesh and blood were no more than pawns, disposable pieces to be sacrificed without hesitation.

A chill ran through him.

The Power of Order grew purer with every advancement of his will, burrowing deeper into him—not just into soul and mind, but into the very foundation of his existence. Once, he could step in and out of it freely, wearing it like a cloak. But now, with his rising strength, Order fused tighter and tighter, threatening to consume him completely. If it went any deeper, it might never let him go.

Cain’s eyes burned. His will surged like a storm, roaring against the chains of silence within him. Stronger and stronger his defiance grew, until, at last—

"Crack."

A shattering sound echoed in his mind.

Order fractured.

Emotions flooded back like a tidal wave. Anxiety, grief, dread, love—raw, choking, overwhelming. For a moment, Cain felt as though he were drowning in a black ocean with no horizon. But then his will erupted, steady and unyielding. Determination anchored him, sharpening his gaze until it cut like a blade.

He would not erase these feelings. He would confront them. Overcome them.

Cain’s focus turned to the Concept of Bloodlines. Threads of connection shimmered faintly in the void, and there—amidst darkness—one strand pulsed with life.

His lips curved slowly, as relief flowed through his soul.

"My son is still alive."

Though Rylanor was imprisoned in the heart of the enemy’s domain, Cain did not despair. As long as life endured, there remained hope.
