Chapter 2048: New food for the Scarlet Throne

Chapter 2048: New food for the Scarlet Throne

"JUST DIE!"

Legion roared, his voice thick with madness. His reason was gone, blinded by fury and despair. Death was coming for him, but he would not meet it quietly. No—he would drag as many souls as possible into the abyss with him. He would leave the world writhing in pain and despair, broken in the final moments of his existence.

Cain’s white blast surged brighter as he poured more and more energy into it, yet even his might strained beneath the pressure. Legion’s cannon of darkness and malice pressed forward, relentless, swallowing light and forcing Cain’s attack back step by step. The eldritch god’s hatred burned so deep that it seemed reality itself bent before his will of annihilation.

Cain’s arms trembled, muscles tearing as he forced everything into his beam. His body was battered, his wounds severe. It was not enough. The darkness crept forward, inch by inch, threatening to consume all.

And then, Cain felt eight hands press firmly against his back. He glanced, his eyes narrowing as he recognized the figure.

Anark.

The Primordial’s gaze burned with purpose and determination. The five Stars of Origin upon his forehead flared, their colors draining as their immense power flowed out into Cain.

A torrent of vitality surged into the Scarlet King. An unimaginable flood of strength and life rushed into his veins. His aura blazed higher, brighter, until the firmament quaked.

One by one, new Stars of Origin ignited upon Cain’s brow. Three. Four. Five. And then, with a roar that split the firmament, the sixth Star of Origin appeared, radiant and unshakable.

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!"

Cain’s aura exploded outward, shaking the highest sky. His white blast surged with renewed power, driving the cannon of darkness.

Legion’s eyes widened in disbelief. He was burning everything—his body, his soul, his very existence—and yet Cain stood against him. Worse, Cain was overpowering him.

"How!? HOW!?" the eldritch god bellowed, spittle and fury staining the void. "How do you keep fighting!? Where do you find such power!?"

He could not comprehend it. His nature made it impossible for him to accept that others could lend strength. To him, power was solitary, selfish, cruel. He could not fathom unity.

But reality did not bend to his denial. And the next revelation struck him like a hammer.

"For the Scarlet King!"

The cry thundered across the firmament. Leonidas stood among the Scarlet Kingdom’s forces, his aura blazing like a star. His soul connected with the Scarlet Star within the Scarlet Throne. Yet this time, instead of drawing upon its power, he poured himself into it. His life force, his essence, his everything streamed into the heart of the Scarlet King.𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

"BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM!"

Explosions erupted one after another across the highest skies. The warriors of the Scarlet Kingdom—all who bore a Scarlet Star—followed Leonidas’s lead. Each sacrificed a fragment of themselves, channeling their vitality into the Throne, sending everything they had to Cain.

The world trembled.

"RUMBLE!"

Vitality and power crashed into Cain like a tidal wave, flooding his existence until his body shook with the weight of their faith and loyalty.

"ARGHHHHHHHH!"

Cain roared. Determination surged through him, a killing will that could burn worlds. His white blast swelled, brighter than suns, stronger than galaxies. It smashed forward with unstoppable force, shattering Legion’s cannon of darkness.

The eldritch god’s scream of denial was drowned in the eruption. His attack unraveled, his form engulfed by the white beam that carried the united might of the Scarlet Kingdom.

The void convulsed as the blast tore through, vanishing at last into the ocean of chaotic energies between the stars.

When the storm faded, only fragments remained. All that was left of Legion, the Alpha-Omega Overgod, was his scorched head, cracks spiderwebbing across its surface. His end had come.

"Hmph. You don’t get to die so easily."

Cain appeared before the shattered head. With brutal precision, he seized it. Above him, the Scarlet Throne materialized, its gates yawning open. Without hesitation, Cain hurled the head inside.

The eldritch god’s last remnant burst apart the next second, but it did not matter. Once drawn into the Throne, death held no meaning. Even shattered into fragments, even broken in soul and ego, all that entered the Throne was assimilated, made fuel for its endless power.

Azazel had been consumed into Cain’s ego and consciousness. Legion had been captured within the Throne itself. Every real threat to the Scarlet King’s supremacy was gone.

By all rights, the war was over.

But Cain was not a man of half measures.

His gaze turned downward, cold and merciless, locking onto the Archdeities who had chosen to side with the Imperium of Time.

Juda, Gilgamesh, Calypse, Apollo, Heronimo, Divine Sea.

Fear filled their eyes. Regret clawed at their hearts. They had gambled and lost. The Scarlet King would not forgive them.

Yet even their terror paled before the despair of three others: Cleopatra, Leonardo, and Altarion.

They had joined the Imperium of Time only recently, believing themselves clever. They thought they could side with the victors before the final stroke, reaping rewards when the Imperium seized control of the world. But instead of victory, they had tied themselves to ruin.

Now, they were prey.

The thought of begging for mercy flickered through their minds. But before a word could pass their lips, the Scarlet King’s aura surged. It fell upon them like the weight of eternity, crushing, absolute.

Cain’s eyes glowed with frost and death. To him, they were not allies or betrayers. They were fuel. Nothing more.

The ArchDeities felt it in their bones. They understood with chilling clarity. There would be no mercy. No chance of forgiveness. The only path left was escape.

In every direction, desperate, scrambling for survival. They knew it was impossible for them to run faster than Cain. However, there was a chance that some of them could survive while Cain was busy with the rest.

But before they could take even their first step, Cain’s gaze blazed. His lips parted, and two words sealed their fates.

"Eternity Breaker."
