Chapter 2066: Killing spree (II)
Chapter 2066: Killing spree (II)
Explosions of lightning, fire, and sword-light flooded in all directions, tearing through the battlefield like a storm meant to erase the world. Mountains cracked, rivers boiled, and the very sky quivered under the clash of divine might. Yet, for all its destructive fury, none of it leaked beyond the battlefield.
Seals carrying the Oniric Truth of Dominion and the Oniric Truth of Gluttony had forged a layered force field, absorbing every shockwave, smothering every ripple of energy. From the outside, silence reigned. No one from the Freedom Path would know what was happening here—no one until it was too late.
The battle raged more intensely by the second. Neither side yielded, nor did either side relent. Jontar fought like a living cataclysm, his lightning and metal body enduring strike after strike. Cain and Meylin pressed harder, their teamwork a perfect fusion of Neo-Demon’s destructive power and True Depravita’s unique skills. Again and again, the clash of their weapons shook the barrier to its limits.
And then, finally—silence.
At the center of the broken field stood Jontar. His colossal frame trembled, his once-blazing aura now dimmed. The Sky Devourer was embedded deep within his chest, sending wave after wave of crimson energy to seal his body and suppress his power, ensuring he could not move. Above, Hell and Abyss pierced into his skull, their edges radiating abyssal corruption.
Meylin’s eyes glowed cold. She channeled the essence of her Dream, weaving the power of Original Sin into the titan’s soul. Bit by bit, she consumed his soul force and psychic energy, draining the very fire of his existence.
She stopped just as the Soul Dimension began to collapse—if it shattered completely, his True Name might escape into his Divine Kingdom for resurrection, and that was something they could not risk.
The moment her blades withdrew, Cain’s eyes blazed with scarlet. Behind him, the Scarlet Throne of the Crimson World manifested—a vast and dreadful dominion forged with the blood and vitality of all those he had sent in. He tossed Jontar’s broken body into the throne’s domain, fusing the titan into its scarlet land and sky. Every iota of vitality, every last spark of his power, was ripped apart and devoured. Even his True Name, that eternal anchor of existence, was crushed and consumed.
A wide smile spread across Cain’s face. He felt the vitality coursing into his flesh and blood, flooding his veins with the strength of a slain Archdeity. The Scarlet Throne lacked the ability to assimilate insights and cosmic knowledge the way the Nine Empyrean Suns’ throne did, but what it could do with raw vitality was unparalleled.
And then came more.
From within his Astral Black Hole, a new spark ignited. Jontar’s power coalesced into a floating essence—an Innate Ability of Peak Prima Deity rank. Some of its potential had been lost in conversion, but its value was undeniable.
Of course, for an ArchDeity like him, a Peak Prima Diety Innate Ability was not of much use, but there was an asnwer to that.
Scarlet flames erupted around his True Name as the power of the Scarlet Reaper manifested. The new ability was consumed, reduced to origin energy, and then fed into the Reaper’s Touch. Its destructive edge sharpened, the killing power growing higher and higher.
Cain had chosen to focus on destruction. Supercomputer Assistant was a very useful ability, but right now, he needed deathblows sharp enough to kill his ultimate prey.
Once satisfied, he turned.
Meylin had finished assimilating the titan’s soul and psychic energy, weaving it seamlessly into her existence. She gave him a nod, her sin lotus aura dimming as she steadied herself. Cain answered with a wave of his hand, summoning flames that consumed the battlefield. The terrain melted into ash and glass, erasing every trace of their presence.
Together, they rose into the sky and vanished into the distance.

Ten Days Later
Their next opponent was a monster of flesh and fury. His crimson skin glowed with magma cracks, each fissure pulsing like veins of molten rock. His three heads roared in unison, and six muscular arms swung weapons large enough to shatter cities. His name was Oni, a warlord of terrifying physical power, a Late ArchDeity of the Freedom Path.
The clash was brutal. Cain and Meylin were forced to fight at their absolute limits, their teamwork the only thing allowing them to survive. They wove a deadly dance, each one risking themselves to create openings for the other. Meylin lost her left arm to a crushing strike, while Cain had his right lung pierced clean through.
But sacrifice bore fruit. Their blades struck decisive blows, one after another, until Oni’s colossal body finally collapsed. Meylin devoured his soul with cold efficiency, while Cain sealed his body and True Name within the Scarlet Throne. The giant warlord was reduced to fuel, his existence consumed like all the rest.
Their wounds were grievous, but not lasting. Meylin’s Depravita Constitution regrew her arm in a matter of seconds. Cain, though lacking her immortal body, was restored by the endless vitality of the Scarlet Throne. His lung knitted back together, flesh and blood reborn in scarlet flame.
The moment they were whole again, they rose into the sky and pressed onward. Rest was a luxury they would not take.
Fight time: 1 hour 31 minutes.

Nine Days Later
Their third hunt was a nightmare in armor. Liono, a Late ArchDeity, stood like a towering lion given human form. Flowing white hair whipped around him as he wielded an enormous molten greatsword. Chains rattled at his feet, his jagged black armor radiating destruction with every movement.
Cain and Meylin gritted their teeth as the battle dragged on. Liono was not merely powerful—he was a genius in combat. His agility defied belief, his body twisting at impossible angles to evade their strikes. Every time they thought they had him cornered, he slipped free, his counters lethal.
Then came the moment.
With a thunderous roar, Liono seized Cain by the neck and blasted him through the ground, tearing craters into the earth. Dust and molten stone erupted as Cain’s body crashed down.
Yet when Liono looked into Cain’s face, he saw not fear—but a smile.
Cain let go of Sky Devourer and instead gripped the lion-warrior’s arms, locking them in place. Confusion flickered across Liono’s face—until Meylin appeared at his side.
He couldn’t understand it. He had suppressed his emotions the entire fight, preventing the Depravita’s ability of Negative Teleportation from triggering. So how—?
Then his eyes widened. He saw it. The negative psychic power was not drawn from him—it was radiating from Cain. Meylin had used his gluttony, not Liono’s rage.
By the time realization struck, it was too late. Meylin’s sword pierced his eye and throat in a single, merciless motion. His fate was sealed.
Minutes later, Liono’s body lay within the Scarlet Throne, devoured by its endless hunger.

Fifteen Days Later
Their fourth hunt was a behemoth. A kaiju-like ArchDeity, Rex, whose jagged black scales glowed with fiery cracks. His colossal jaws could shear mountains, his roar split the oceans. His every strike was a natural disaster.
Unlike their previous prey, Rex had few unique abilities. His power lay in his sheer, overwhelming physical might. But even titans bleed.
The battle dragged on for hours, Cain and Meylin carving wound after wound into his monstrous body. Slowly, inevitably, his strength waned. At last, the final strike fell, and the beast was sent into the throne.
It was a flawless victory.
Fight time: 4 hours 59 minutes.

Twelve Days Later
Deep in the abyss of a vast ocean, their next enemy awaited. Kertul, a Late Archdeity, was a terror of the deep—a body of scaled armor, fins, and writhing tentacles, fanged maws snapping with eldritch hunger.
Beneath the crushing pressure of the ocean, Kertul reigned supreme. He moved with terrifying speed, his aquatic form overwhelming the duo. For a time, Cain and Meylin were forced on the defensive, battered back by his relentless assault.
But endurance was their ally. Unlike Cain and Meylin, whose bodies could regenerate almost endlessly, Kertul’s wounds accumulated. Every cut from Sky Devourer, every lash of Meylin’s lotus, drained him further.𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Hour by hour, his strength faded. Until at last, surrounded by his own blood in the dark sea, Kertul fell.
And, like all before him, he was cast into the Scarlet Throne, his existence erased.
