Chapter 2205: The Scarlet Throne vs The Root’s essence
Chapter 2205: The Scarlet Throne vs The Root’s essence
The one who had just exploded Emprik’s head was none other than Cain. He had burned the last scraps of energy in his body to trigger Primordial Asura Form’s Eleventh Gear and Final Eternity Breaker at the exact moment needed to stop the abomination from interrupting Anark’s work.
Cain already knew the Champion of the Root would regenerate in mere seconds; that was why he summoned the Scarlet Throne while he was blasting his head to pieces with Nihility and Entropy.
High Lord Godfrey had just been forced to regenerate his entire body, resetting him back to his base stats. Cipher and Uriel could handle him in that weakened state, and the other Champions of the Root were being suppressed by the remaining superpowerhouses of the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe.
This was the perfect and maybe the only chance to use the Scarlet Throne and end the life of the Champion of the Root.
There were dangers, of course. The Scarlet Throne was the heart of his Alter-Ego, the core of his mind and personality.
Inviting an entity from beyond the edge of the universe inside it—an entity carrying a cosmic power born from something that corroded and corrupted everything—was a massive gamble. But Cain had been fighting for hours, and his body, mind, and soul were at their breaking point.
If he didn’t do this, Resurrección would deactivate, and he’d be lucky if he ended up merely unconscious instead of in a coma. Either way, he would be out of the picture, which would be the only thing that the forces of The Root needed to turn the tables.
So the Scarlet King didn’t hesitate.
He grabbed the barely reforming body of the Champion of the Root and hurled it into the Scarlet Throne.
Silence fell across the battlefield as every pair of eyes turned toward the crimson dimension. Up until this moment, the powerhouses of the Root seemed truly immortal. No amount of damage—obliteration, annihilation, even reduction to the atomic level—could stop the Heart of the Root from regenerating them as long as they remained within its range.
But the instant Emprik crossed the threshold of the gate, the tendril connecting him to the Heart of the Root—the one bond that had never broken or cracked regardless of the punishment—snapped. And Emprik’s body immediately began to unravel.
Flesh, bone, soul, and cosmic essence all shredded into their most primal components, dissolving into raw matter that fused into the fabric of the Scarlet Throne.
A Champion of the Root—one of the supposedly immortals—was being truly destroyed.
Shock swept across the warriors of the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe. But terror tore through the Root.
When they spoke of immortality, they meant it quite literally. As long as the Heart of the Root existed, they could not die—ever. But now... now they were watching one of their own undergo what could only be described as a permanent, absolute death.
"RUMBLE!!!"
Just as everything seemed to be going as Cain planned, the scarlet realm trembled violently. The quake was so intense that even distant structures began to crack.
At the same time, an orange, sickly force erupted from deep within Emprik’s dissolving core, expanding in all directions like a malignant wave, trying to overwrite the Scarlet Throne and convert it into an extension of the Root’s power.
Cain twisted as pain stabbed into his mind—a pain so vast and ancient it felt like a direct blow from a force equal to The Flow itself, the fundamental power connecting all existence.
"Hahaha... stupid maggot. The Root cannot be consumed. You can only be consumed by it!" Godfrey spat the words with venom. His tone dripped with hatred, poison, and a festering frustration he could no longer contain.
Everything had gone wrong for the Root today, setback after setback, and at the beginning of all was Cain. So seeing him suffer brought a twisted smile to his face as he fully expected the Scarlet Throne to collapse.
But that smile died in the very next heartbeat.
A scarlet force—or more accurately, a pure red cosmic principle—erupted from the heart of the dimension. It carried with it the primal foundations that allowed the Scarlet Throne to exist.
The red energy slammed into the dark orange power and immediately overwhelmed it, forcing it to recoil and then collapse. The Root’s essence was devoured, assimilated, and fused into the Scarlet Throne just as the portal sealed itself.
Godfrey saw it. And his heart trembled—not just with fear, but with dread. With disbelief.
"Impossible..." he whispered, the word slipping out of him before he could stop it.
It may have been only a small burst of the Root’s true essence, but that orange force carried a fragment of power that transcended the Third Realm. And yet the principles sustaining the Scarlet Throne seemed to exist at an even higher level.
For the Champions and their High Lord, things went from bad to catastrophic.
Now that the Root’s power had been suppressed by the red force, Cain was able to fully assimilate every fragment of Emprik’s soul and ego—along with a vast portion of the abomination’s immense vitality. The surge was staggering.
"BOOOOOM!"
An explosion burst from Cain as his energy, soul force, and Ego Wave erupted in unison. The flood of vitality raced through him like wildfire, giving the Samsara Seal the ignition it needed to repair the brutal damage he’d taken over the endless hours of combat.
A wide grin stretched across Cain’s face as he felt his strength return—not fully, not perfectly, but enough. Enough to fight at full power, enough to give the final push needed to end this battle.
The Scarlet King launched forward like a shooting star, appearing at Anark’s shoulder. A bright blue sphere materialized in his hand, condensed and crackling with lethal power, devouring everything around.
"Sovereign Neutron Star Collapse Cannon!"
The Scarlet King roared as he unleashed the gathered energy across the battlefield, firing the cannon straight into the Heart of the Root.
