The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2207: The King of the Root (II)

Chapter 2207: The King of the Root (II)

"Eternity Breaker! Twelfth Gear!"

That voice echoed, and in the next instant, Cain’s figure appeared right between the wounded True Primordial and the horrifying abomination that sought to deliver the killing blow.

The Scarlet King pushed himself far beyond his limits, Twelfth Gear making scars form all across his body, and pushing his heart to beat so strongly that he felt it would shatter at any second.

If not for Eclipse Monolith Inheritance, he would have burst to pieces, and even with it, this state would generate a horrifying backlash, yet there was no time to worry about it as Cain felt deep inside his heart that he needed to face this abomination with all he had, and would only have one chance.

His left hand snapped forward, using only his middle and index fingers to intercept the strike. The force behind it pushed Cain to his absolute limit; his eyes glowed brighter than ever as he forced the power of The Flow to neutralize the terrifying power packed into that punch.

And he succeeded!

Or at least that was what he thought until the abomination twisted its fist.

A binding connection formed between its corrupted power and the energy coursing through Cain’s left arm. He felt it clamp down like a chain locking shut, and in the next second, everything detonated.

"BOOM!"

Cain watched in raw shock as his left arm exploded into pieces. The blast ripped through his torso, tearing through bone and essence alike, and hurled him backward at catastrophic speed.

His broken body crashed into Anark’s massive frame. Together, they burst out of the hole in the Universal Wall, blood spraying from their mouths as they were crushed under the overwhelming force.

Silence dominated the battlefield.

Every powerhouse of the Six Sacred Races, every Champion and High Lord of the Root was left speechless. A single blow had defeated Anark, the strongest warrior of the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe. And this entity had casually neutralized forces even Godfrey could not withstand.

The abomination stared at Cain and Anark for a long moment, its countless eyes burning with killing intent. It seemed ready to finish the job—until its enormous body suddenly shuddered. A solemn, unreadable expression crossed its petrified-and-decayed features. Slowly, it turned toward the Heart of the Root and aimed its right hand at the titanic tumor.

A portal tore open.

From its depths erupted countless roots of petrified and rotting flesh. They shot outward at impossible speed, lashing around the Heart of the Root and wrapping it in layers of decaying tendrils. What happened next defied all logic—a feat only a being who stood above the rules of reality itself could perform.

The entity that had defeated Cain and Anark with two simple punches began dragging the Empyrean-world-sized Heart of the Root back through the hole in the Universe Wall.

The golden hands of the Matrix struck it repeatedly, doing everything they could to stop its advance. But the abomination was simply too powerful. Before anyone could act, it had already pulled the entire Heart of the Root to the very edge of the breach leading into the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe.

"AARGHHHH!" With a roar that sounded like countless lifeforms screaming in unison, the abomination’s muscles bulged. Under the horrified gazes of all who watched, it pushed the Heart of the Root into the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe.

"RUMBLE!!!"

The Matrix of the Universe trembled violently. Agonized screams rippled through its vast network as the corrupted essence of the Heart of the Root pierced into its structure. The Matrix responded instantly, unleashing floods of cleansing power in an attempt to burn away the invading mass.

But the Heart of the Root had been created for infiltration. The moment it stabilized in the new universe, massive roots erupted from its body. They burrowed into the fabric of reality, fusing with it and assimilating its power.

Explosions rippled through creation. Shockwaves of destruction roared outward as the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe and the Heart of the Root collided again and again. Powerhouses on both sides were blasted away by the sheer force.

Only one being remained unmoving amidst the cosmic destruction—the abomination responsible for all of it.

Cain and Anark finally stabilized themselves far in the distance. Blood still dripped from their mouths, and the gaping, torn wounds across their sides and chests remained terrible and slow to heal. Complex, heavy expressions crossed their faces as they looked at the creature that had crushed them so easily.

They had fought with everything they had—risked their lives, executed perfect tactics, unleashed the deepest secrets of their power. Yet all of it had been shattered by the overwhelming strength of this half-petrified monster.

They watched helplessly as the massive roots merged deeper and deeper with the universe’s structure. There was nothing they could do. Even if they managed to carve their way through the shockwaves, they were no match for the abomination.

Finally, under the gaze of all forces of the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe, the roots of the colossal tumor fully integrated into the gridwork of reality. The searing power of the Matrix could no longer reject it.

The rest of the universe still resisted the Root. The Matrix would still convert the deaths of Root invaders into power for its defenders. But none of that changed what had just occurred.

The Root now had a stable foothold inside the universe—one that none of the present had the power to remove.

A shadow of dread fell over every warrior of the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe as comprehension sank in.

The first battle against the alien invader known as The Root...

was a defeat.

And before the powerhouses of the Nine Suns could even recover from the shock, things worsened.

The entity turned toward them.

Its countless burning eyes grew sharp as its fractured wings spread wide. When it spoke, its voice echoed across creation itself—heavy, commanding, impossible to ignore.

"I am Radagon, King of the Root." It then extended its arms, as if holding all of creation. "Look upon my work... face my might... and despair."
