The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2283: A moment of peace

Chapter 2283: A moment of peace

A solemn expression settled over the five super powerhouses as they heard Cain’s words. They had learned much from the forces of the Scarlet Kingdom while fighting at their side, and everything they had witnessed made his proposal difficult to ignore.

The Scarlet Stars were extraordinarily powerful—far beyond any conventional soul-refinement method they knew—and the reason why the psychic energy reserves of the Scarlet Kingdom’s warriors were nearly double those of individuals with equal cultivation level and talent.

And that was only the beginning. By forging a Scarlet Star, those warriors gained qualified access to the Scarlet King’s Path of Conquest, a lineage of powers that made them nearly unstoppable on the battlefield—abilities such as consuming ambient energy, devouring the life force of their enemies, and enhancing their regeneration to a monstrous degree. It was the kind of strength any great power would covet.

But the problem lay in the origin of the Scarlet Stars.

Even now, after surviving the Heart of the Root, Cipher and the others could not deny the deep, instinctive dread they felt toward the Scarlet Throne.

It was a place where even immortal entities like the Champions of the Root could be bound for eternity, reduced to inexhaustible spiritual batteries. Connecting a piece of one’s soul to such a place was an act of immense risk. None of them truly understood how much control Cain might gain over someone who forged a Scarlet Star.

That was why, despite the undeniable benefits, none of them had ever asked Cain for a Scarlet Star, nor had they allowed the people to approach that path. It was a line they had silently agreed not to cross.

Yet refusing now would be far more difficult.

There was no evidence of harm—only overwhelming advantages—and by accepting the Scarlet Star, they would also gain fully sanctioned access to the Alpha Omega Overgod Techniques. Such an opportunity was priceless, and their people would definitely want it.

Unfortunately for the five, they had no reasonable grounds to decline, not without appearing foolish, paranoid, or self-sabotaging.

They exchanged glances, searching for some unspoken strategy, some silent agreement to outmaneuver the Scarlet King. But minute after minute passed, and in the end, there was no voice of objection among them. The resignation and reluctant acceptance in Cipher’s and the others’ eyes told Cain everything he needed to know.

He gave them a radiant, almost disarming smile.

"Perfect. Then we will proceed accordingly. The operation will fall under Everstrife Empyrean World jurisdiction, and you will all have unrestricted access to every record and transaction. Transparency will be absolute—there will be no room for suspicion or foul play."

The reassurance was generous, but the five super powerhouses could still feel the weight of Cain’s presence pressing into their souls. Standing before him was like facing a sun—warm, inexorable, illuminating the deepest corners of their intentions.

Even when dormant, the Power of Chaos constantly influenced those around him. It could not fabricate emotions, but it dissolved hesitation and nourished resolve. Doubt melted. Certainty flourished.

Cain spoke again.

"If there is nothing else to discuss, I will create the chamber containing the Empyrean Arts and the Leviathan Star Sea. After that, I will return to my world. I will enter seclusion there. If any matter arises in my absence, you may address it to Anark—he will hold authority until I awaken."

The five nodded. Everything seemed sound. Cain had healed all their wounds with Tribulation Enhancement, but he had been unable to heal his own injuries—at least not until he forged flames of forty-four colors. That would take time, after all, it was a Tribulation Enhancement of the Middle Alpha-Omega Overgod tier.

Cain nodded once more to the group. With a calm stride, he made his way through the Golden Hall, selecting one of the many empty chambers scattered through its vast expanse. There, he forged the pillar containing every Alpha Omega Overgod Technique at his disposal.

Thanks to the Power of Chaos, he no longer needed to burn fragments of his soul essence to transmit overgod-level insight. Each pillar was linked to his soul and the Scarlet Throne, allowing controlled and safe access.

The creation of the Leviathan Scarlet Sea was even easier. He had already forged one within the Scarlet Crown, and although he remained weakened, his foundational strength was vastly greater now. The entire process took less than fifteen minutes before the structure stabilized. The [A.I. Chip Module] would handle all analysis, accounting, and exchange rates between Scarlet Merit Points and cultivation time within the Empyrean Arts matrix.

Naturally, there were many logistical matters ahead—duties belonging to the Master of the Empyrean Trade Center—but Cain had an entire kingdom to enact those responsibilities. Chief Councilor Minxet, Rapuztin, and the others would manage the infrastructure, regulations, labor allocation, and security. He entrusted it to them without concern.

Cain then appeared in the Everstrife Empyrean World’s void, drifting for a moment before reaching into the Scarlet Crown. Once inside, he met with the ArchDeities and Chief Councilors, outlining every step they needed to take and every objective required before he ended his seclusion. The tasks he assigned were immense, but they accepted them without hesitation. The mission entrusted by the Scarlet King allowed no weakness, and his people were prepared.

With military and governmental matters settled, Cain finally summoned his family.

When Shura and Astrid arrived, a rare softness broke across his face. From the moment the universe screamed and the Heart of the Root emerged, every second he had remained awake was consumed by preparing for apocalypse. And now, soon enough, he would march toward the Crimson World to strengthen himself while his Primordial Body recovered.

Before plunging once again into bloodshed, he wanted one moment of peace.

He embraced his two wives, letting silence cleanse the exhaustion buried in his soul. For the first time in what felt like ages, he allowed calm to settle through him.

Then, without another word, he rose with them into the sky and departed.
