The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2311: Reuniting with the Demon King

Chapter 2311: Reuniting with the Demon King

The Fifth Realm of the Crimson World was massive, with phenomena that could take the life of even ArchDeities. Just like the Fourth Realm, its sky was also peculiar; however, instead of a white sun, it had moving golden stars occupying the highest part of the sky. Every day, they would shift at strange intervals, some of them carrying such energy and momentum that they could literally carve scars into the sky, making every inch of it extremely dangerous.

Over the last few decades, the Fifth Realm had become a massive battlefield as the forces of the Life Path and the Freedom Path clashed with a power and momentum that shook entire continents.

Fineal Continent was one of the many territories that had been decimated by the war, its terrain so shattered that normal people could no longer live in it, and the flames that flooded the air made it a hard place to put any form of formation or Eternal Kingdom. Ironically, the destruction made it peaceful and silent, but today that changed.

The ground trembled nonstop for several seconds, and then space shattered as three figures emerged.

Cain’s breathing was rough as he felt waves of exhaustion assault him. The journey across the Realm Barrier had been a little harder than he expected, even with the increase in his strength. Still, a small smile appeared on Cain’s face as they had succeeded with time to spare.

The Scarlet King glanced at Meylin and the Enlightened One, and the trio nodded to each other, cloaking their auras and revolving their energy through their bodies, slowly recovering. The Demon King said he would find them when they reached the Fifth Realm, so they just needed to wait. As for how exactly he would find them in such a massive realm—that should not be a problem for someone at his level.

A few days passed, with the trio managing to regain their strength and return to their peak, when suddenly the space in front of them trembled, and the next second, an old man with a powerful body and an aura that made the world itself bow appeared before them.

This was the second time Cain and Meylin gazed at the Demon King, but the first time they were simply too young and too weak to understand the magnitude of the man’s power. Yet now, as they stood with their souls already within the Alpha–Omega Overgod Rank, they got a clear impression of his strength—and it was simply overwhelming.

"Is this the power of someone at the limit of the Third Realm?"

Cain could not help but compare the power of the Demon King with the one unleashed by Radagon at his peak, when the abomination managed to defeat Anark with a single blow, and he could tell that the True Depravita was even stronger.

Not letting those thoughts distract him, Cain and the other two rose and clasped their hands before performing deep bows.

"Master."

"Master."

"Lord Demon King."

Cain and Meylin addressed the Demon King as their master, showing proper respect. While their time together had been short, the old True Depravita had shown a lot of care for them and helped them greatly across their journey.

The Enlightened One used the formal title with which the powers of the Crimson World referred to him.

The Demon King smiled at the trio. He first set his eyes on the Enlightened One, and they glowed for a second before he nodded.

"Very good. You have forged your Dream around the Flow, and now that you have raised its mastery, your power is rising immensely."

The Enlightened One was surprised to hear such flawless and precise analysis, but he did not utter a word—he simply nodded gravely.

After that, the Demon King turned his gaze toward Meylin, and immediately his smile grew kinder, carrying the fondness of a father looking at a child who had grown up.

"I am happy to see that my first disciple has advanced so much. The Path of Original Sin is extremely complicated, but also extremely powerful. Well done, little girl."

Meylin showed a proud smile. Becoming a Depravita had been a transcendent moment in her life, and she was greatly grateful to the man who granted access to that path for her.

Finally, the Demon King turned toward Cain, and this time his expression was more serious, full of inquisitive light.

"So you really obtained the Power of Chaos."

Cain showed a small smile. From the beginning, he never intended to hide it, and he expected Zarazel to reveal it, so he calmly nodded to the Demon King.

"Yes. I managed to awaken it in the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe when I faced an unstoppable enemy. I connected with all the people fighting by my side—my soul and ego binding with theirs—allowing me to harness their strength into my final attack."

At this point, Cain’s eyes began to glow with a bright scarlet color.

"And it has evolved into much more than just fighting. I can connect with people, with phenomena, with the universe itself."

The Demon King stared at Cain as a flash of reminiscence appeared in his eyes.

"Just like Adam’s."

After uttering those words, the Demon King considered things for a few moments before waving his hand, making two treasures appear. One was a small pagoda that glowed with purity and harmony, and the other was a dark glowing orb that seemed to hold countless corrupted souls warped by endless sins.

Each of those treasures seemed to be on an equal level to the dagger that Cain took from Urin, maybe even stronger.

The two treasures moved toward the Enlightened One and Meylin, the duo receiving them with awe and desire, as they could feel the power needed to help their paths evolve.

"Go and familiarize yourselves with them in the distance."

The duo’s eyes narrowed as they heard the Demon King. It was clear there was something he wanted to discuss with Cain in private, so they nodded and left.
