Chapter 2409: Let me in
Chapter 2409: Let me in
There were fewer than three hundred Blutlinie in total, but nearly a third of them were ArchDeities. Leading them was a young woman with sharp, refined features and a power so overwhelming that it made space-time recoil around her.
"Mirena!"
Airi clenched her fists as she recognized the leader of the opposing force. In that instant, she finally understood everything.
This had all been an ambush.
They had not been pushing the battle toward the center of the Ocean of the Blood Sun, where their attacks could have inflicted the most damage. Instead, they had been subtly guided into this location—deep within enemy territory—wounded and exhausted after prolonged combat. Only then did the enemy’s true forces reveal themselves.
Airi forced herself to breathe.
"Keep a cool head," she began, her voice steady despite the situation. "We still have greater num—"
She did not get to finish her sentence.
The countless blood hands and spears that had been harassing their forces suddenly faded away, only to be replaced by concentrated beams of blood energy—each one moving with terrifying speed and carrying immense power.
Before the Blutlinie of the Aztorus Kingdom even made their move, screams echoed throughout the forces of the Kalous Kingdom. Beams of blood energy pierced cleanly through the bodies of Prima Deities, striking precise points that disrupted their control and caused them to lose all balance. One by one, they fell into the blood ocean below.
"Kill them all!"
Mirena’s voice rang out, sharp and commanding, as a wide smile spread across her face. She and the rest of the Blutlinie of the Aztorus Kingdom surged forward.
The Prima Deities and ArchDeities of the Kalous Kingdom rushed to meet their counterparts. Though they were greater in number, they were exhausted and injured, while the Aztorus forces were fresh and operating at peak condition.
With the relentless support of the blood energy beams, the battle immediately devolved into one-sided carnage.
Mirena herself flashed directly toward Airi.
As she moved, her arms became covered in a milky-white luster. Her palm collided head-on with Airi’s sword, producing a violent shockwave that tore through the surrounding space.
Instantly, the force of decomposition embedded in Airi’s blade surged forward, attempting to melt Mirena’s palm on contact. However, the milky-white power coating Mirena’s arm carried a purifying essence so dense and refined that it completely neutralized the Ancestor Power within Airi’s weapon.
The two women locked eyes.
They were flawless contrasts of one another—cold, powerful, and resolute. Judging by the killing intent blazing in their gazes, this was far from their first clash.
Meanwhile, Hades did not move to assist Mirena. Instead, he joined Satan as the two of them turned their focus fully on Kantun.
The dinosaur warrior maneuvered behind the Royal Blutlinie just as Kantun attempted to strangle Satan. Hades slashed out with his claws, tearing through flesh and sending massive streams of blood raining into the ocean below.
"Arghhh, bastard!"
Kantun roared in pain and fury. Even at a disadvantage, he did not retreat. Twisting his massive body, he hurled Satan away before immediately striking toward Hades.
The metallic wings of the dinosaur warrior snapped shut, forming a shield just in time to block the blow. Even so, the impact sent Hades flying through the air, his bones trembling violently.
"BOOM!"
"BOOM!"
"BOOM!"
"BOOM!"
Before Hades could recover, Kantun clenched his teeth as multiple fire blasts detonated against his back. Each explosion carried heat so intense it felt capable of piercing flesh and scorching the soul itself.
"Dammit!"
Roaring in rage, Kantun twisted again and brought his hands together with all his strength, generating a shockwave that neutralized the incoming fireballs and forced Satan backward.
Yet the moment he did so, Hades was already diving toward him once more, claws aimed straight for his head.
Kantun barely managed to block the strike. Deep wounds split open across his arms, blood spraying freely. It was becoming painfully clear that he could not withstand a prolonged battle against the duo. If this continued, the situation would become extremely dangerous.
"Sister!"
Kantun roared with all his strength.
Airi immediately frowned. She could see how dire the situation had become. Any remaining chance of victory was already gone. However, retreating now—after losing so much—would mean severe repercussions. She would be blamed for accelerating the assault on the Ocean of the Blood Sun and leading her forces straight into what was now undeniably a trap.
"ARGHHH!"
The scream of a dying ArchDeity echoed across the battlefield, snapping Airi out of her hesitation.
The longer she delayed, the worse things would become.
Gathering all her energy, Airi unleashed a powerful strike that sent Mirena rolling through the air. Then she shouted, her voice carrying across the battlefield:
"Retreat now!"
At her command, she, Kantun, and the remaining Blutlinie immediately focused all their power on escape. Life-saving techniques activated one after another, exponentially increasing their speed as they fled the Ocean of the Blood Sun.
Mirena quickly regained control of her body. Her expression turned icy as she watched Airi retreat.
She wanted to kill.
But with the enemy fully focused on escape, catching them would be extremely difficult.
"I could lend you my power."
At that moment, the voice of the Blood King echoed inside Mirena’s mind.
"Just let me in, and I will raise your energy and vitality exponentially."
Allowing someone she barely knew to channel their power through her body should have been unthinkable. Yet the words reached deep into her mind, resonating with her desire to end this battle decisively.
Before she even realized it, Mirena nodded.
Instantly, a golden and scarlet power erupted from the Ocean of the Blood Sun and connected directly to her.
Mirena’s eyes widened as her power exploded.
A wide, ferocious smile spread across her face as she flashed after Airi, moving at a shocking speed that shattered the air behind her.
Airi sensed the sudden surge of energy and glanced back. A flash of dread crossed her eyes as she saw Mirena rapidly closing the distance.
She pushed herself to the absolute limit, but with the blood beams concentrating their power on her, escape became harder with every passing second.
Just as the shoreline finally appeared in Airi’s sight—
Mirena caught up to her.
With a savage grin, Mirena unleashed a blow carrying the power to shatter the sky itself.
