Chapter 2668: Nito’s rise
Chapter 2668: Nito’s rise
Cain stood atop the highest mountain in the Ninth Realm of the Crimson World.
Several weeks had passed since his sparring match with the Demon King and the ascension of his Divine Kingdom into a Ninth Realm Eternal Kingdom.
Above the mountain peak stood a massive storm cloud that extended as far as the eye could see. It was not a natural storm. These clouds were born from the barrier between the Crimson World and the Emptiness beyond the universe.
They were manifestations of cosmic pressure.
The closer one moved toward the edge of the universe, the more unstable the laws became. Space twisted, time fluctuated, and immense currents of energy moved through the void. The storm clouds were the result of those forces colliding with the laws of the Crimson World.
Thunder echoed across the Ninth Realm.
Lightning flashed through the clouds, illuminating the sky with violent colors. Each bolt carried enough power to threaten an Alpha Omega Overgod.
Cain, however, stood beneath the storm with his eyes closed.
Then, without warning, a massive multicolored bolt of lightning descended.
It tore through the clouds with a deafening roar and rushed toward Cain.
The lightning was powerful enough to destroy a mountain range.
Cain’s body was strong, but not so strong that he could simply ignore an Alpha Omega Overgod-level attack. Yet he did not open his eyes. He did not raise his hand. He did not even shift his stance.
The bolt of lightning reached his shoulder.
Then it changed direction.
The moment it came into contact with Cain’s body, the lightning bent away from him. It curved through the air and crashed into the distant mountains, leaving behind a massive crater.
Cain remained unharmed.
There had been no visible movement.
It was as if every cell in his body had become capable of triggering Divergence on its own.
The principle of Divergence had become deeply engraved into his flesh and blood. Any force that approached him would naturally be pushed away, diverted from its original path before it could cause harm.
More lightning descended.
One bolt after another fell from the cosmic storm.
Each strike was powerful enough to threaten the strongest beings of the Third Realm. Yet none of them could reach Cain. The bolts twisted around his body, diverted by invisible currents of the Flow before exploding in the distance.
Cain’s mastery over the Flow had improved immensely.
However, he was not satisfied.
His goal was not simply to defend himself.
A new bolt of lightning descended.
This time, Cain allowed it to strike him.
The lightning crashed against his body and entered through his stomach. Its destructive force surged through his flesh, attempting to burn his organs and tear apart his bloodline.
Yet Cain’s expression did not change.
The lightning was absorbed.
The destructive energy became raw power, flowing through his body. Instead of being released immediately, the energy remained under Cain’s control.
It began circulating around him.
Golden lightning wrapped around Cain’s body like a serpent. It did not move wildly or explode without purpose. It remained calm, orbiting around him as if it had become part of his own power.
Redirection had also taken another step.
Previously, Cain could absorb the force of an enemy’s attack and return it immediately. Now, he could take control of that energy, refine it, and wield it as his own.
He could store the power of others.
He could turn an enemy’s strength into fuel for his own growth.
A small smile appeared on Cain’s face as another lightning bolt entered his body.
Inside him, in the hidden dimension at the core of his soul, golden drops continued to form.
Each drop was a reflection of the Endless River.
Each one carried a fragment of the Flow.
The Golden Current was slowly taking shape.
Cain could feel it.
The threshold needed to break through universal barriers and return to the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe with his Apex Hybrid Body was close.
Very close.
"Just a little longer," Cain murmured. "Then I will end it all."
The determination in his voice was so powerful that golden-scarlet light radiated from his closed eyes.
Not far away, the Demon King watched silently.
His eyes were sharp as he used the full power of his soul to decipher the principles radiating from Cain’s body. Although he had been learning the Flow from Cain, the level of mastery displayed by the Scarlet King still left him in awe.
A small smile appeared on the old man’s face.
"His talent and will..." the Demon King whispered. "I have not seen anything like them since Adam."
His eyes grew deeper as memories from ancient times surfaced in his mind.
"Whoever his enemy is in the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe, they will have no chance of stopping him."
The Demon King did not say those words lightly.
They came from billions of years of experience.
He had witnessed the rise and fall of countless geniuses. He had fought in wars that had engulfed the entire Crimson World. He had seen Supreme Races collapse, ancient monsters awaken, and powerful beings lose themselves in the pursuit of strength.
Yet Cain was different.
He was not merely powerful.
He possessed a will capable of forcing the universe itself to yield.
---
What the Demon King did not know was that Cain’s enemy was someone who should not exist.
Nito had broken a taboo.
He had taken hold of power that should have destroyed his mind, soul, and identity. The Samsara Eye belonged to an entity so powerful that even touching its authority was dangerous.
A normal Third Realm life form would have been consumed instantly.
Even a Fourth Realm existence would struggle to bear its burden.
The power of the Samsara Eye was not meant to be controlled by someone like Nito. It was supposed to turn him into nothing more than a vessel, a remnant of the being from which that power originated.
Yet there were those whose will could surpass what should have been possible.
There were those whose belief in their mission was so firm that they could remain sane even while wielding forces capable of destroying Fourth Realm life forms.
Nito was one of them.
"CRACK!"
A thunderous cracking sound echoed across the stronghold of the Curse Eaters in the Fallen Empyrean World.
The sound was so loud that even Alpha Omega Overgods felt blood trickle from their ears.
The Curse Eaters turned toward the source.
Their eyes widened.
A massive dark heart had risen into the sky above the stronghold.
The heart was enormous, larger than a mountain. It pulsed with strange energy, each beat releasing waves of Samsara Force that distorted the laws of the Fallen Empyrean World.
Cracks began spreading across its surface.
One crack became ten.
Ten became hundreds.
The Curse Eaters stared in silence as the heart continued to fracture. The pressure radiating from it grew stronger and stronger until the ground beneath the stronghold began to split apart.
Then the heart exploded.
A massive wave of Samsara Energy burst into the sky.
The earth trembled.
The heavens shook.
For a moment, it seemed as though the sky and the ground would exchange places under the pressure of that terrifying force.
The Curse Eaters could not hide their awe.
At the center of the explosion stood a single figure.
Nito.
He floated in the air, completely motionless.
Every wound he had suffered during his last battle against the Scarlet King had vanished. The cuts across his body were gone. His broken organs had healed. His missing limbs had regenerated.
He was flawless.
However, the Curse Eaters soon realized that his recovery was the least shocking part of his transformation.
They focused on Nito’s face.
His skin was cracking, and as the cracks spread, they realized something far more disturbing.
Nito’s skin was peeling away.
It was falling from his face like a broken mask.
