The Extra Can't be A Hero

Chapter 300: Attack the Titans (1)

Chapter 300: Attack the Titans (1)

Knodalon.

Also known as the Beast Titan.

A figure of supreme power.

In the ancient era, long before dragons ever roamed the world, Knodalon had already filled the land with his offspring. In countless ways, every living beast of the modern age traced its origins back to the Beast Titan.

He was the beginning of all beasts… the primordial progenitor from which everything else descended. Even the Dragons were nothing more than lizards touched by his essence, elevated and refined into greater forms.

That was why Knodalon looked down upon all creatures.

He was the originator. The perfected form.

What right did his creations have to stand beside him?

Children?

No, mere imitations, flawed and inferior echoes of his own existence.

And as for the humans who stood against him, they were merely inferior creatures that he could destroy at a moment's notice. So, for Agos, his brother and king, to tell him to pay respect to them and avoid the humans? It was an impossible task.

Knodalon soon located a nearby human settlement and strode toward it with unshaken confidence.

It was a town north of Eshon, nestled in the most remote reaches of the Elune House's territory. Primarily a hub for tourism and research, it drew crowds each winter for its renowned snowboarding slopes, while scientists flocked year-round to study the ancient ice—among the oldest on the planet and a scientific treasure trove.

But its purpose was also its weakness.

The town possessed little in the way of defences, especially against a sudden beast tide.

Standing at the edge of the settlement, the Beast Titan, the Progenitor of all Beasts, decided it was time to test something.

Since his re-emergence into the world, Knodalon had sensed a disquieting resistance. His divinity was sealed, and the mana of the planet felt increasingly alien, as though the world itself rejected his continued existence.

Yet Knodalon was far from powerless.

Every beast still carried a trace of its bloodline.

That was his ace.

Fixing the human settlement with a cold, contemptuous stare, the Beast Titan channelled the mana coursing through his body and unleashed a primordial, beastly roar. The sound reverberated across the land, ancient and absolute.

Like moths drawn to the moon, beasts from every direction answered the call—demonic creatures and evolved animals alike. In moments, they converged into a tide unlike anything the town had ever witnessed.

Within hours, the town was ravaged by beasts. The Knights and Magicians stationed here fought valiantly, but they were no match for the sudden beast tide. And even if they could do anything, they were helpless against that giant who watched over their town like a mad scientist watching his experiment succeed.

"As expected…"

Knodalon sneered and walked away from the ravaged town as his interest waned.

"These weaklings are nothing to me."

❖❖❖

While Knodalon razed the human town, the other Titans sought their own ways to reacquaint themselves with the changed world.

Pyrrhos, the Infernal Titan, returned to his origin. He burrowed deep into the planet, descending until he reached the molten core itself. There, amid endless lava and crushing heat, the Titan felt truly at home. The planet's core nourished him, its inferno empowering his form.

Though his divinity had been stripped away, Pyrrhos felt no sense of loss—only liberation.

Free from divine burdens, he could rest within the world's deepest reaches, hibernating for eternity, undisturbed by anything above. But his actions, in turn, caused countless volcanoes around the world to erupt. The soot and flames made entire regions uninhabitable, not just for humans, but for any living creature.

The others were no better.

Theia, the Mountain Titan, returned to what had once been her domain: a vast rainforest that had spanned an entire continent.

What greeted her was desolation.

The land had collapsed into canyons and deserts, stripped bare of lush canopies and verdant life.

Rage consumed her. Vines erupted from her body as she set to work, forcibly reshaping the land. Ancient tree species unseen in the modern era were reborn, their roots tearing through stone as the world itself seemed to take notice of her wrathful restoration.

As for Anemos, the Sky Titan, it took to the heavens.

Roaming the ozone layer, it soared from one end of the globe to the other, revelling in the unfamiliar skies of the new age. Wherever Anemos passed, thunder roared and typhoons followed. Clouds were consumed, winds spiraled out of control, and the land below was left in ruin beneath a trail of relentless tempests.

Bit by bit, the Titans acted without restraint, indifferent to the consequences of their existence.

They did not see themselves as disruptors of the natural order.

They were the natural order.

The world was theirs to shape, to break, to toy with—as it always had been.

Yet it was this very arrogance, this unchecked destruction, that ignited the first embers of rebellion within the ancient Dragon Progenitors.

And for the humans who were now going to suffer the consequences of their actions… it was time to wage war.

"The Titans have awakened."

Within the chambers of the Solaris House, Amon had gathered the ones he trusted most and informed them of the situation.

"We have confirmed the movements of four Titans. Pyrrhos, the Infernal Titan, has holed himself within the earth's molten core. Theia, the Mountain Titan, is currently in the Greyridge Canyon, reconstructing her forest. Anemos, the Sky Titan, is in the ozone layer, travelling from one place to another and…"

Amon shot a worried look at Yue and her grandfather, Yugor, who were wearing grim faces as they read the reports.

"Knodolan, the Beast Titan, is currently ravaging Eshon."

"Those bastards! They couldn't even wait to start destroying our lands!"

"Well, the Titans view the entire planet as theirs… so they're just reforming their land."

Yugor spat in disgust while the Sword Saint answered thoughtfully. The Elune House's former head glared daggers at the former Protector of the Realm, but was unable to breathe another word as another voice emerged.

"Pyrrhos is impossible to get to," Alrock interjected before the two old heads could derail the conversation with their petty fight. "Even with our bodies, it's impossible to survive the temperatures of the molten core. Also, fighting within the Infernal Titan's home territory would prove to be a disadvantage to all of us."

"The Solaris Knights are the worst equipped to deal with the Infernal Titan."

The Archmagister of the Realm, Jex Amaris, agreed with Alrock's analysis.

"It was the same against the Demon Prince; the Solaris bloodline is ill-suited to deal with beings of fire."

"A bit harsh for you to say that, but precisely so."

The feeling of defeat still loomed within the Solaris House's hearts. The helplessness and despair when they faced off against the Demon Prince, whose entire existence was that of fire, was seared into their minds.

With the invincibility myth of the Solaris bloodline now shattered, the Solaris Knights no longer walked with arrogance. They were more calculated and never underestimated the threats posed by their enemies. Particularly those who possessed the blessings of fire.

"Not really, we do have an ace who can deal with Pyrrhos."

But rather than agree with their analysis, Amon interjected with his own statement. Even without looking, everyone in the room knew who he was referring to.

Leon, who had been in a daze, snapped back to reality as he pointed to himself.

"Me?"

"Yes, you're going to lead the fight against Pyrrhos. I'm sure you can manage that."

From the beginning, Amon had decided that Pyrrhos's divinity would be absorbed by Leon. Not only did he possess more solar mana than any Solaris in history, but he also possessed an affinity with water, which allowed him to balance the overwhelming fire of Pyrrhos.

And besides, Leon was always Amon's first choice for his new pantheon.

"As for how we're going to lure him out from hiding… that's a story for another time."

Pyrrhos was a difficult Titan to deal with. Not only was he powerful and a bad match for the Solaris House, but also because of his location. Therefore, Amon could only turn his attention to the other three Titans.

"Anemos is elusive, while Theia hasn't done anything to damage civilisation yet. So, the one we should focus on is…"

"Knodalon."

Yugor bit on his teeth while grunting the Beast Titan's name. The Beast Titan was easy to locate and was actively destroying human settlements. So, it made sense that he was the most pressing threat.

A threat that the Elune House had no chance of taking on alone.

Fortunately, the Elune and Solaris House were under a pact, one that was sealed by blood.

"Yue, let's make Knodalon our first target."

"That would be great, but if you're prioritising Eshon because of our relationship, there's no need for that."

Yue tried to dissuade Amon from attacking Knodalon, mainly because she didn't want him to appear as if he was letting his personal affairs interfere with their work. Besides, Yue alone had confidence in dealing with the rowdy Beast Titan, so Amon didn't have to divert the crucial resources of the Solaris House to fight her war.

But…

"It doesn't matter," Amon behaved as if he didn't hear Yue's protest and solemnly declared: "An attack against the Elune House is akin to a declaration of war against me. So, I'll handle Knodalon myself."

"!!!"

At that moment, Yue flushed red and covered her mouth. She hurriedly reached into her pockets and floated several recording crystals before meekly asking:

"P-please repeat that."

"..."

Her fangirling antics were known to everyone in the room, so they could only stifle their laughter before glancing away. Meanwhile, Amon sighed and made a mental note to tone down his actions, lest this lustful wife of his tear his robes in public.
