Chapter 2196: Chapter 2196: Sect Leader Sister (2)
Chai Qin frowned, "Idiot?"
"Throwing yourself at someone to be a concubine, only to find out they’re not interested, what else could you be but an idiot?" Yu Qingge pouted, "If I were your master, I would’ve sold you off ages ago. Keeping you around is just a nuisance."
Chai Qin lowered her eyes.
Yu Qingge snorted as she went into the kitchen, "Sis, you’re too generous, keeping a little vixen around to spite yourself." She threw a look at Gu Qingheng.
Gu Qingheng touched his nose; he hadn’t done anything wrong, yet this girl was directing her anger at him.
"I’m not being generous," Yang Ruxin sighed. "After all, she was chosen by mother-in-law for your brother-in-law, grew up with him, and though she’s just a maid, she’s still human. She was even willing to give up her life for him. But now Chai Huan is dead, Chai Qi and Chai Shu are missing and presumed dead, she’s the only one who survived the ordeal. She’s not entirely lost yet, and I just hope she can be happy in the future."
"Sis, I’m afraid some people just aren’t worth your kindness."
"Whether they’re worth it or not, it’s always good to give them a chance."
"Your soft heart is a problem; it needs fixing!" Yu Qingge rolled her eyes at Yang Ruxin. "Since brother-in-law is here, I won’t stick around. I’m going outside to wait for dinner." She finished and pulled Xuxu along with her.
"Xinxin, I hope she understands your kindness," Gu Qingheng sighed softly.
Yang Ruxin smiled, "In any case, everyone walks their own path and lives their own life. I’ve done my part, and she can’t blame me for what happens next." Then she focused on cooking.
Chai Qin, who was walking outside, naturally heard what was said inside. She gave a bitter smile and quickly returned to her room. She really needed to think things over.
Dinner was held in the Bamboo Garden. Chai Qin didn’t show up, and no one mentioned her. However, Yang Ruxin still asked Gu Qiao to bring her a plate of egg fried rice and a bowl of fish ball soup. She also sent a portion to the guests at the Chrysanthemum Garden. Whether it was enough or not, it was a gesture.
"Madam, there are three people outside requesting to see you," Gu Qiao walked in.
"Three people?" Yang Ruxin chuckled, glancing at Dao Xuzi, "Master, they’re probably here for you?"
"I’ve already given you the Cloud Sect’s token. I’ve taught you everything I know, whether to see them or not is up to you," Dao Xuzi continued to fight with the candied sweet potato. He rarely indulged in sweets before taking Yang Ruxin as a disciple, but now, the old man had developed a taste for them. "This candied sweet potato is too much trouble to eat. Next time, make sweet potato balls, they’re easier to eat."
Yang Ruxin frowned, "Master, what do you mean?"
"I mean, this old man has handed over the Cloud Sect to you," Tang Wanqian cast Dao Xuzi a glance, thinking how cunning the old man was to subtly take control of people.
Yang Ruxin twitched at the corner of her mouth, "Master, I didn’t plan on becoming the Sect Leader of the Cloud Sect."
"You’ve accepted the token and learned the skills, can you just refuse to take the position?" Dao Xuzi widened his eyes, "If you really won’t do it, let your man take over. You two can figure it out."
"But..."
"But what?" Dao Xuzi didn’t give Yang Ruxin a chance to speak, then glanced at Gu Qiao, "Let those three brats in to meet their new Sect Leader."
Gu Qiao looked at Gu Qingheng and had no choice but to turn and leave.
Yang Ruxin blew at her bangs, realizing she had long since fallen into the old man’s trap.
