Chapter 2576: Chapter 2576: Poisoned (5)
"The one named Gu hasn’t left yet. Boss, come out, you’re probably suffocating in there, aren’t you?" Gu Qingheng’s lips curled up slightly.
Instantly, the secret passage became so silent you could hear a pin drop.
Gu Qiao wanted to go in, but Xiaobai had already darted inside. Before long, they heard a scream from within, and then saw Xiaobai dragging out a blood-covered person.
Yang Ruxin went over and patted Xiaobai on the head, signaling that his task was completed.
Xiaobai rubbed against Yang Ruxin’s palm.
"Boss, long time no see." Gu Qingheng walked over, looking down at the boss.
"You..." The boss looked at Gu Qingheng in horror. The pain from his calf being bitten off by Xiaobai was nothing compared to the despair in his heart.
"Sir Kong." Gu Qingheng had already turned his head to look at Kong Qingfang, "I hope you can give a reasonable explanation."
Kong Qingfang’s legs went weak at this point; if it weren’t for the Government Officials supporting him from behind, he might have collapsed on the ground. The boss’s prison break wasn’t much of an issue—at most, it was a lack of supervision. But now that he was found in the underground of the back office, that was something he couldn’t easily shirk.
However, Kong Qingfang was also a talent. He quickly regained his composure: "Sir Gu, may we speak privately?"
Gu Qingheng looked at Yang Ruxin.
Yang Ruxin nodded slightly at him.
Gu Qingheng smiled at Kong Qingfang: "Alright."
Kong Qingfang led Gu Qingheng out of the study, while Yang Ruxin and the others were taken to another courtyard, where a servant brought them tea and snacks.
"Big Sister, where’s Xiaobai?" Sini was delighted to see Xiaobai, but before she could play with him, he was gone.
"Xiaobai isn’t suitable to stay here, so he left." Yang Ruxin shrugged her shoulders.
Sini immediately put on a sulky expression.
"We’ll bring him into the mansion once we reach Beijing."
Little Sini instantly brightened up, grabbing a snack from the table to eat.
"Don’t eat, it’s poisoned," Zhou Xiao urgently reminded her.
Little Sini sniffed at the snack: "No worries, this poison isn’t lethal." She said as she took a big bite.
Zhou Xiao’s mouth twitched, remembering that they all took the Medicine Pill and herbal decoctions Big Sister gave them daily to improve their constitution. Moreover, they had all learned some medical and toxicology skills with her. While they weren’t as immune to poisons as her, ordinary toxins couldn’t harm them.
Meanwhile, Xiaolun’s family couldn’t stay still any longer, running over and lifting their little heads to watch Little Sini.
Little Sini couldn’t take a second bite, instead handing the snack to them.
Xiaolun gulped down the half-piece of snack in one bite.
Zhou Ying simply pushed the snacks in front of her to Xiaolun and Xiaoyin.
Xiaolun’s family of three devoured three large plates of snacks, then collectively let out a satisfied belch, having drank all the tea as well. Although the poison was ineffective, it at least quenched their cravings a bit.
"That Sir Kong really is annoying," Sanni clenched her fists.
"They’re coming, let’s play along," Yang Ruxin said as she closed her eyes and slumped onto the table.
Seeing this, everyone else followed suit, closing their eyes and slumping over the table.
Once they were all in position, someone entered the room.
"They fell for it after all." One person who entered let out a cold laugh twice, "Hurry up, the official said not to leave a single survivor." With that, he drew his weapon, "Quickly, give each one a stab, then throw them into the canal."
